Chapter 87

Leviathan had no time to watch the fallen worm; Lin made it quickly run into the lake and then began to repair the damaged exoskeleton.
The flyer, on the other hand, flew down to closely observe the massive creature.
Next to the worm's enormous body, the flyer seemed almost insignificant, its entire body covered in a tough exoskeleton, with formidable hunting skills and the ability to traverse the desert. This was the most powerful creature Lin had ever seen.
Although the worm had fallen to the sand, its mouth continued to open and close, indicating it was not dead. However, the damage it had sustained was significant, and the act of expelling the contents of its body had drained a lot of its energy.
It was uncertain whether it would recover. This creature was indeed a dangerous opponent, but it also represented a substantial amount of nutrients.
Lin thought of some very special plans...
Instead of reinforcing Leviathan's exoskeleton, Lin softened it, turning it into a cell wall, or 'skin,' and constructed a web-like framework inside, similar to a skeleton, to support Leviathan's weight. At the same time, Leviathan's internal structure began to undergo drastic changes, with Lin reorganizing most of its internal structure.
Lin reconstituted the entire Leviathan into a special creature. Its body was filled with strong acid, water, and numerous sharp exoskeleton fragments. The surface of its body had many small holes for absorbing air.
Now, Leviathan was like a giant bomb. Once it exploded, the substances inside would severely damage the target.
As for the remaining cells, Lin regressed them to a more primitive state with extremely rapid reproduction and aggressive behavior.
Lin intended to use them to consume the entire worm.
The new Leviathan emerged from the lake and approached the worm lying on the sand.
The worm had not yet recovered and was in a near-death state. Lin was unsure if it could recover after expelling so much water, but that was no longer important.
Leviathan approached the worm's head and planned to use its tentacles to pry open the worm's mouth.
"Ugh"!
The nearly dead worm suddenly sprang up and lunged at Leviathan.
It still had such strength?
Leviathan did not dodge or evade. As before, Lin made it charge directly into the worm's mouth. Once again, the worm failed to close its mouth in time, allowing Leviathan to enter. This time, it was not due to the worm's mistake but because it was too weak.
Leviathan burrowed deeper into the worm. As Lin had anticipated, the acid that had filled the esophagus was now completely gone. Leviathan crawled to the area with corrosion marks and stopped.
The worm made no movement; it had no strength to expel Leviathan.
At this moment, Leviathan began to absorb the air inside the esophagus, and its body started to swell. Eventually, it burst, expanding to almost twice its original size.
The dissolving liquid inside Leviathan splashed onto the worm's esophageal walls, and the sharp exoskeleton fragments Lin had prepared pierced through the soft tissue, causing blood to gush out uncontrollably.
However, these were just additional effects. The most critical part was the large number of cells inside Leviathan that were now scattered on the worm's esophageal walls. They began to form small units, destroying and consuming the worm's esophageal cells, continuously multiplying.
In the process of evolution, most organisms tend to forget the abilities they once possessed and cannot recover them. However, Lin was different. Lin's cells retained all the information from its inception to the present, allowing it to produce cells from any period. Therefore, it could form various new types of cells, like the latest multicellular species, and quickly generate the most primitive bacteria to invade the target's internal body structures, infecting its blood and organs.
During its one billion years of evolution, Leviathan had developed many new types of cells, many of which were suitable for combat. Lin could make good use of them.
Invading a massive creature was not an easy task. A single cell would take a long time to circle the worm's body. It was only by nightfall that Lin slowly began to gain control of the situation.
The various structures inside the worm were destroyed, and various liquids filled its body. Lin constructed a hard shell at the worm's mouth to prevent the liquids from leaking out and began to absorb the worm's nutrients.
Lin discovered some interesting structures inside the worm. The worm's shell was extremely thick, and its inner layer had an insulating structure that allowed it to maintain its internal temperature even under the intense desert sunlight.
Additionally, the worm's muscles were very resilient, as they had to drive such a massive body. Learning from these, Lin could become much stronger.
The other structures inside the worm were not particularly special. Although its brain was large, it did not seem to have any unique features. Lin was more interested in the structure of the Aztec worm.
Lin absorbed a large amount of nutrients from the worm and began to reorganize its entire structure. Instead of 'reviving' the creature, Lin intended to use it as a base to produce a large number of new units.
Lin sealed the worm's mouth with a muscle structure, allowing it to control the opening and closing.
The worm's exoskeleton was waterproof and heat-resistant, making it suitable as a desert base. If Lin discovered a way to obtain water, it might be able to cover the entire desert with a green carpet...
However, for now, it would first occupy the lake and explore other areas of the desert to see if there were more lakes.
Lin first created a small, flying unit called a 'Seeder.' Like a dragonfly, it stored 'green carpet seeds' in its tail, which could be placed in any suitable environment and grow into a green carpet.
Next, Lin created a tentacle-like unit for burrowing through the sand. Lin sent these burrowers deep underground to see if they could find a water source.
The worm's mouth opened, releasing a large number of Seeders. These were low-nutrient, disposable units. Lin did not have high hopes for them, feeling that the burrowers were more likely to find water.
Finally, Lin formed the last creature inside the worm... Leviathan.
Regarding the formation of Leviathan, Lin was somewhat hesitant.
If Lin wanted to, it could create a creature the same size as the worm, but Lin believed that a large size was unnecessary. A large size would not allow for quick movement, which was not suitable for desert travel. After all, the worm's movement speed was quite slow, similar to Leviathan's usual pace, and not comparable to its attack speed.
...How big should it be? As Lin pondered, it realized a problem: it could not make it too large, or it would not be able to exit the worm's body. The length was not an issue, but the height was. If it only grew in length and not in height, it would look strange...
Forming Leviathan was a time-consuming process, taking an entire day and night to complete.
The worm's mouth slowly opened, and a new Leviathan stepped onto the sand. It had been increased to 4.3 meters in length and about 1.6 meters in height. Although the increase seemed small, the 'equipment' had been significantly upgraded. Its entire body was covered in the worm's heat-resistant exoskeleton, and it had powerful, resilient muscle cells.
Now, Leviathan was capable of traversing the desert, and Lin hoped to use it to find a truly habitable area, not just a small lake like this one.
But, which direction should it go?
