Shorts #8 - Five Years Later: A Reunion. [ Modern ]

Inside a cozy cafe, an elegant looking young man was bustling about as he completed his work. New Year’s Eve was around the corner, and that meant that there were more women out on the streets having fun, as well as couples. This cafe was evidently popular, cough cough , apart from the fact that the milk teas here were reasonably priced, it was also thanks to the charming looks of the cafe owner…

“One Matcha Milk Tea, and one Milk Tea with Pearls.” A slightly gruffer voice suddenly broke through.

The cafe owner who was busy making milk teas had his back turned at present, but upon hearing this, his hand noticeably paused before he continued preparing the beverages. However, if one were to take a closer look, they would definitely be able to tell that the cafe owner’s hand was trembling slightly.

“Just a moment.” The cafe owner’s voice also seemed to be unsteady.

A couple of girls who were waiting for their milk teas could not help but turn to look at this man out of curiosity.

The girls were stunned, OMG he’s so handsome! The man had chiseled features and a pair of hawkish eyes. One look at them and a person might have felt it would be hard to get along with this person. His thin lips were pressed together as he stared straight at the milk tea shop’s owner, not a hint of subtlety about his intent.

All the girls who had purchased milk teas picked up their orders and left. The last person to order had been this man. For some odd reason, the entire time the man was in the cafe, no one else came in to order a milk tea.

“Haohao, I’m back.” The man slowly uttered this sentence.

The cafe owner’s name was Xu Hao.

Initially, Xu Hao’s head had been bowed down. As he lifted his head, the sight of his reddened eyes entered the man’s vision.

Xu Hao dazedly looked at the man before, tears uncontrollably pouring from his eyes. The man felt his heart wrench as he saw this, and he walked toward Xu Hao embracing him as he continuously repeated, “I’m sorry, Haohao…”

Xu Hao seemed to be choked with emotion as he asked, “Does your father know you’re back? Did you go to see him?”

“He knows, I called him earlier. And he’s agreed.” There was a hint of relieved joy in his tone.

“Mmm, I know, I know… He came to see me yesterday.”

It seemed like they had finally made it to the end of their hard times…

Xiao Yu.

– At night –

Two people were walking along the long bridge, their hands clasped together.

“Haohao. The milk tea shop is doing well right?” Xiao Yu smiled as he looked lovingly at Xu Hao.

Now that his lover was back, Xu Hao’s mood was definitely a thousand times better than before.

“Of course it’s been doing well! I mean, I have this face of mine to depend upon…” Xu Hao replied with a giggle.

“Oh? Then, has this face of yours attracted many love rivals for me?” Xiao Yu stopped as he turned to pinch Xu Hao’s cheeks while teasing him.

Xu Hao rolled his eyes as he replied, “As if you don’t already know.” Even while the two of them were separated, Xiao Yu’s father had been kind enough to let them communicate with each other.

Xiao Yu laughed, “It’s been so long, yet you haven’t changed a bit.”

Xu Hao immediately turned proud as he continued, “Who says? I have changed okay, don’t you think I’m more handsome than before?”

Xiao Yu looked at Xu Hao’s pursed mouth and felt a familiar itch coming over him, “Mmm, you have changed. You’re even more sultry than before… Come on, let’s go home.”

Let’s go home. He had not heard these three words once in the last five years… Xu Hao’s eyes began to redden once again, but still he said, “What are we going home so early for?”

Xiao Yu’s naughty grin grew wider as he explained, “What else for? Let’s go home and make a person!”

“…” Make your a**! I’m a man okay!!
