"Or what? Send scouts first, His Highness Oda Nobutomo wouldn’t be so deranged as to commit such an act of rebellion, would he?"
Nobunaga was still pondering the pros and cons in his mind, uttering words he himself didn’t believe.
"Oda Nobutomo’s rebellion and attack on the guardian’s residence are well-documented. I can prove it with the wounds I sustained during the breakout. Please, Your Highness, take a look!"
Straightening his posture, he sat in the center of the council hall and began to methodically remove his armor.
Amid the stunned gazes of the women, he tore off his blood-stained white hunting robe. The dried blood had adhered to his wounds, and when he ripped it off, fresh blood flowed once again.
Yigin, with his otherworldly physique, though only 14 years old, had a well-built body from years of training.
His long, muscular limbs, the ghastly wounds on his pale skin, and his cold, emotionless face created a stark contrast that left the warriors, accustomed to the emaciated or obese men of this world, staring in awe, occasionally hearing the sound of swallowing.
Yigin had set himself up as a warrior willing to do anything to revive the Sassa family, a persona that aligned well with the values of this world.
Only by maintaining this persona could he ensure that no matter how outrageous his actions, people would find excuses for him, because he was too god-like, too cool!
To survive in this cruel and chaotic world, one needed not only strength but also a reputation and image that drew attention.
Compared to being arranged to marry and leaving everything to fate, it was better to strive and try to retain as much choice as possible.
As a former seasoned corporate drone, he had long lost his sense of propriety. Whether it was career aspirations, job hopping, or raises, everything was for the sake of living, no matter how hard it was!
Moreover, just taking off his shirt, the values of this world paid no attention to such things; a man baring his chest was no big deal.
The reactions of the people around him made him find it amusing, but the more so, the more he needed to maintain his image and act convincingly.
His expressionless face was filled with the sanctity of sacrifice, his slightly trembling body straight, his fists clenched. He knelt upright, looking at Nobunaga, who was as discomposed as the others, to show his determination to fulfill his promise.
Those weaklings of the Sassa family, I can take ten of them at once. Whoever opposes me, I’ll kill them. Don’t worry!
Nobunaga never expected Yigin to go to such lengths to show his sincerity. For a man, he had done enough.
Breaking through the night, running for miles to seek help, and resolutely offering his loyalty. He was as resolute as a man and as brave as a woman, truly shaming the women of the Sassa family.
Unfortunately, it was a pity he was a man. Speaking of men, Nobunaga’s eyes grew hot; it was the first time she had seen a man with such a good physique.
The wounds from spears and arrows on his body did not detract from his beauty but added a cruel charm that captivated her.
"Call the doctor to treat Lord Yigin. Inukaze, gather your troops and go to the rescue of the guardian’s residence."
Nobunaga took off her yukata, her chest moving freely with her movements. Yigin quickly bowed his head in gratitude, almost losing his composure.
It wasn’t that his acting was poor; it was just that the size was too much, and the scent from the yukata made him imagine. He felt a warmth in his nose, this young body was just too vigorous, longing for the days of being a corporate drone.
Kanbei Kuroda stepped forward, still somewhat immature, already feeling dizzy from the sight, and quickly rushed out of the council hall.
The other warriors silently gave Nobunaga a poor rating; since the matter was settled, they gradually dispersed.
It was just a minor Oda Nobutomo, no need for a large force. Nobunaga held Yigin’s hand, unwilling to let go, her desire growing stronger, but Yigin had no time to think about it.
After hastily apologizing, he went to the keep to wait for the doctor, roughly bandaged his wounds, put on his armor, and went to meet Kanbei Kuroda, time was pressing.
The city was already bustling with soldiers, and he hastily gathered his troops.
But these ancient people were not good at night battles, and it would take some time to form a proper formation.
Yigin looked at the sky; time could not be delayed any longer.
"Lord Kuroda."
"Lord Sassa, you are too polite."
A respectful bow, Kanbei Kuroda, facing the high-born and well-mannered young noble, felt a bit restrained.
The man before her still seemed to be that naked figure, her face suddenly turning red, and her words becoming a bit clumsy.
"This way is too time-consuming. Lord Kuroda, take a few trusted guards and set out with the already organized troops.
The rest can be left to a trusted person to continue organizing and follow up.
Oda Nobutomo will never expect us to come to the rescue. A sudden attack will break her offensive. As long as the guardian’s residence is not lost, she will have to retreat."
After deliberating, Yigin proposed his idea to Kanbei Kuroda, who nodded after some thought.
She called her subordinates and gave orders. Soon, a team of thirty men set out from Kiyosu Castle, heading for the Sassa guardian’s residence.
The team had no horses and did not deliberately extinguish their torches, walking boldly.
They also wanted Oda Nobutomo to see and retreat, but human plans could not match the will of heaven...
"Lord Sassa, what do you think..."
Kanbei Kuroda looked at Yigin with difficulty, and Yigin coldly looked at the distant guardian’s residence, which had already been breached.
The guardian’s residence, in name, was just a simple fort. Most castles in Japan were rudimentary, let alone the impoverished Sassa family.
But even a rudimentary fort should have held out for a few hours, right? The Sassa family, those weaklings, judging by the flames in the main hall, his mother and sisters must have committed suicide.
Oda Nobutomo’s subordinates were raping and looting, enjoying the spoils of the city’s fall, and her banner was still in front of the residence, where she was.
"Please, Lord Kuroda, join me in slaying the rebel."
Oda Nobutomo must die; otherwise, Yigin’s persona would collapse.
The Sassa family seemed to be finished, but if Oda Nobutomo were allowed to escape, Yigin would become an orphan, a nobody.
Without a family name or strength to protect him, would he return to Nobunaga as a subordinate? He had to take a chance, turning a bicycle into a motorcycle.
But first, he had to kill Oda Nobutomo. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, Owari did not believe in tears. To be respected, one must not let an enemy live overnight.
"This... His Highness Nobunaga only ordered me to rescue..."
"Oda Nobutomo’s rebellion and attack on the guardian’s family are grave crimes. His Highness Nobunaga, being a man of principle, would naturally not tolerate such a rebel.
Moreover, this is the Sassa family borrowing troops to suppress the rebellion, and we will bear all responsibility."
Since the Sassa family was finished, Yigin found it easier to speak in their name, already accustomed to the feeling of being the Sassa family.
Kanbei Kuroda thought that Oda Nobutomo was the head of the Owari clan, nominally Nobunaga’s lord.
Though she had been driven out of Kiyosu Castle, though she was a former boss, though she had gone mad and attacked the guardian.
She was still a former boss, and Kanbei Kuroda had to consider Nobunaga’s reputation. Killing a former boss was common, but the reputation was not good.
But with the Sassa family’s name, acting decisively and solving the problem once and for all would also help her boss. So, she nodded.
After Kanbei Kuroda agreed, Yigin led the team to quietly approach Oda Nobutomo’s banner, his chest burning with anger in silence.
The peaceful days were gone. His mother, Sassa Yoshitada, was weak, and his sisters were foolish, but they were still his beautiful memories of the past fourteen years.
This damn world, this damn life, this damn Oda Nobutomo, this life is unbearable.
"Full charge, kill them all!"
Yigin, holding a sharp blade, led the charge.
