It was silent in the meeting room. As time passed by slowly, no one took the initiative to step forward and admitted the mistake.
The Secretary General sneered. “Alright, then, since no one is going to step forward voluntarily, don’t blame me for being merciless!”
Everyone trembled in their hearts.
Little Su lowered her head slightly, feeling a chill running down on her back. Suddenly, she sensed a sharp gaze shooting at her, and she couldn’t help but raise her head.
The Secretary General was staring at her coldly. His sharp gaze seemed to be going to pierce through her heart.
“Secretary General, are… are you suspecting me?” Little Su’s expression turned a little gloomy, and her tone was not very natural either. “I swear, it was definitely not me. How would I frame Anru! Besides, I am also a victim…”
“I’m not suspecting you, because I’m sure it’s you.” The Secretary General interrupted her coldly with a very firm tone.
Everyone immediately focused their gazes on Little Su. Some of them were surprised, some were disdainful, some were suspicious, and some were just gloating.
“It’s not me! Secretary General, you must be mistaken. How would I do that?” Little Su couldn’t help but raise her voice. With a trace of panic flashing across her face, she subconsciously looked towards Tang Anru and seemed to want to ask for her help.
Tang Anru frowned slightly. “Secretary General, this matter is of great importance. Are you sure you’ve investigated it clearly?”
“Are you suspecting me of slandering her?” The Secretary General’s sharp gaze approached Tang Anru.
Tang Anru hurried to shake her head and smiled apologetically. “No, of course I believe in your investigative ability, Secretary General. It’s just that I’ve worked with Little Su for so long, it’s really hard for me to believe that she would do such a thing without conclusive evidence.”
“Secretary General, I don’t think it was Little Su, either. Is there a misunderstanding?” another person also said boldly.
The person got along quite well with Little Su in ordinary times, and she didn’t like Qin Shu, so she thought to herself that this kind of thing was definitely done by Qin Shu.
The Secretary General scanned the dozen or so interns present. The rest of them didn’t speak, but their expressions all showed the same meaning: they wanted to see the evidence.
The Secretary General sneered in his heart. It seemed that it was time to punish someone as a warning to others, so as to prevent these new interns from having an exaggerated opinion of their abilities!
He didn’t change his voice and expression on the surface and took advantage of the opportunity to ask, “Then who do you think it was?”
That person wanted to distinguish herself in front of the Secretary General. She thought that the Secretary General had asked her because he trusted her, so she hurriedly said, “I think it was Qin Shu. She has a criminal record in school and always likes to plot against others behind their backs. Many students know about that. Secretary General, you should investigate Qin Shu carefully. Maybe she planted the blame on Little Su.”
“Right, right, right!” Little Su said anxiously. “Secretary General, evidence is key in everything. You can’t trust Qin Shu just because she has an excellent working ability. I admit that I’m indeed inferior to her at work, but I definitely won’t frame others behind their backs with such dirty tricks.”
The Secretary General glanced over at the others and asked, “Do you also think it was Qin Shu?”
Everyone lowered their heads and remained silent. Even Tang Anru, Qin Shu’s good friend, didn’t intend to stand up for Qin Shu.
They all secretly guessed that perhaps the Secretary General didn’t find out who it was, and he was just bluffing, trying to scare the bad guy to stand out.
Little Su also thought like that. Her expression relaxed a bit compared to before.
“Looks like all of you believe that it was Qin Shu.” The Secretary General looked around at the crowd, and he lightly tapped on the table with his fingers. It seemed he was considering the authenticity of Qin Shu being the schemer behind the matter.
There were a lot of people who were delighted in their hearts. If Qin Shu was kicked out of the military industry group because of this, it would mean that a strong opponent amongst them interns would be removed, and their chances of becoming formal employees would be increased.
They even hoped that the person was Qin Shu—regardless of whether there was evidence or not. As long as the Secretary General firmly believed that Qin Shu was the one who framed other interns behind their backs, then Qin Shu would definitely be finished!
Just when Little Su wanted to add fuel to the flames burning on Qin Shu, the Secretary General stared coldly at her and said, “I gave you a chance!”
Little Su panicked. “Secretary General, what… what do you mean by that? Are you still suspecting me?”
The Secretary General ignored her and whispered to the assistant.
The assistant nodded and clicked his mouse twice quickly. Then, he turned the laptop screen in front of him to show it to everyone.
The Secretary General didn’t say anything. Everyone subconsciously stared at the screen.
It was a surveillance video restored in HD.
The time shown was 12:30 pm, and the location was the printing room of the Secretary Department.
At this time in the video, everyone was probably out for lunch. There was only one person who was standing in front of the printer in the spacious printing room.
It was Little Su.
According to the video, after Little Su printed out some documents, she specially picked up one paper out of them and read it.
As the camera drew closer, a paragraph of dissolute and obscene description showed clearly on the paper. The conversation between the male and female characters was undisguised and dirty, which could make one’s face blush with shame at a glance.
Immediately after, Little Su actually placed this piece of paper in a document, and that document was right what her superior had told her to complete!
This surveillance video was very short and lasted for only two minutes, but it was enough.
As the video ended, a mocking voice suddenly sounded in the meeting room. “I didn’t expect it was a self-directed and self-performed good show.”
Wasn’t that Qin Shu’s voice?
Everyone focused their eyes on the laptop screen when Qin Shu’s delicate and slightly pale face suddenly appeared on it. She was leaning lazily in the sickbed, with a trace of mockery revealing at the corner of her mouth, and she coldly looked at the interns in the meeting room.
Even if it was mockery, her smile was as bright as a flower and looked too pretty to be true.
Qin Shu was also an intern of the military industry group, and she was involved in this matter of porn novels, so Lin Xian called her yesterday to ask if she wanted to attend this meeting.
Qin Shu agreed.
Of course, no one would have thought that, even she was lying sick in the hospital, she still actually attended the meeting.
The interns then realized that they had backed up Little Su and thought they were on the righteous side, but they treated Qin Shu as a shameless backstabber…
This was awkward!
Tang Anru was pleasantly surprised though. Her gentle face blossomed with a happy smile. “Qin Shu, it’s really good to see you! I intended to visit you at the hospital, but you refused to tell me the hospital’s address. I’m really worried. But now that you seem fine, I’m finally relieved.”
Her tone was both surprised and happy, even mixed with a trace of unobvious grievance and endurance. Anyone who heard her would choose to stand on her side.
That’s right.
In everyone’s eyes, Tang Anru was gentle and generous. She cared about her good friend all the time.
However, Qin Shu did not appreciate it and refused to have Tang Anru visit her at the hospital. Qin Shu treated other’s kindness as nothing and was really ungrateful!
“Thank you for your concern.” Compared to Tang Anru’s joy, Qin Shu showed neither coldness nor warmth, just being polite and alienated.
Tang Anru immediately revealed a trace of feeling hurt. She bit her pink lips lightly and said with a bitter smile, “You’re my good friend. It’s only natural that I care about you.”
However, if Tang Anru had really treated Qin Shu as her good friend, she wouldn’t have pushed her out when the car rushed over!
Qin Shu was unwilling to watch Tang Anru act again, so she coldly responded to her with a single syllable of “em”.
Tang Anru wanted to say something else, but the Secretary General tapped on the table lightly and said, “Leave these private matters to yourselves in private. Little Su, what else do you have to say?”
Little Su’s face turned dreadfully pale. She sat there stiffly and said in panic, “I, I didn’t do it on purpose… Secretary General, give me another chance! I didn’t mean it, and I’ve never framed any of other colleagues. Just give me another chance!”
The Secretary General said mercilessly, “I already gave you a chance. You didn’t admit it, and you even framed Qin Shu. I can’t let you stay in the military industry group! When the meeting is over, write your resignation letter and hand it over.”
“Secretary General, you can’t do this!” Little Su was very excited. “I didn’t do it on purpose. I was instigated by someone else!”
Instigated by someone else?
Everyone was shocked. They quickly began to guess in their hearts that who had instigated Little Su to do such a thing and frame Qin Shu.
The Secretary General immediately asked, “Who instigated you?”
“It’s her!” Little Su suddenly stood up and pointed at Tang Anru angrily. “Secretary General, it was Tang Anru. This bitch instigated me to do that!”
Everyone was shocked once again.
Tang Anru was also shocked. She smiled resignedly. “I didn’t.”
“Nonsense!” Little Su stared at Tang Anru’s gentle and innocent face. “Stop pretending to be innocent here. It was you, you didn’t want Qin Shu to stay in the company, so you instigated me to frame her so that everyone would think that Qin Shu was the one who put those porn stories in the file!”
“I didn’t.” Tang Anru felt so wronged that a layer of mist slowly rose in her eyes. “Little Su, how can you get me wrong? I have always treated you as a friend. Even if you have a secret crush on Mingran and are dissatisfied with me, you can’t abuse your public power to take revenge on me for a personal grudge. You can’t slander me casually about work. We can settle our private matters privately.”
As soon as these words were spoken, many people looked at Little Su with strange eyes.
Qi Mingran was Tang Anru’s boyfriend, who often drove a BMW to pick Tang Anru up from work. Most of the colleagues knew about this.
Sometimes, when Tang Anru and Little Su got off work together, Qi Mingran would also give Little Su a ride conveniently.
Therefore, it seemed very possible for Little Su to secretly fall in love with Qi Mingran.
Qin Shu lay in the sickbed and watched this scene with interest, as if it had nothing to do with her.
To be honest, she really did not expect that the porn novels she translated would one day cause so many chaotic consequences!
In the past, Qin Shu might not believe that Tang Anru would instigate Little Su to do these things.
But now, she had seen through Tang Anru. Tang Anru even wanted her to die in a car accident, Qin Shu wondered, what else could she not do?
No wonder that when Little Su discovered those porn novels in the documents, she didn’t make a scene in front of the boss, instead, she deliberately yelled about it in the office.
Firstly, Little Su had a guilty conscience in her own heart and didn’t dare to make a scene to the boss. She would be finished if the truth was found out.
Secondly, Little Su deliberately framed Qin Shu in front of all the colleagues in the office. Even without any evidence, she was able to make everyone believe that Qin Shu had framed her.
Shortly after that, Tang Anru tried to persuade Qin Shu and apologized on behalf of her as her good friend, which indirectly confirmed Qin Shu’s guilty to the crime.
In this great show, Qin Shu felt that she was really stupid!
She was badly looking forward to seeing that, Little Su could produce evidence to prove that Tang Anru had instigated her to do all of those things.
Sure enough, the Secretary General did not disappoint everyone. He asked the question that everyone was most concerned about, “You said it was Tang Anru who instigated you, do you have any evidence?”
“Evidence?” Little Su was stunned. “I, I don’t have any evidence.”
The Secretary General frowned.
Qin Shu chuckled to herself. That’s right. Tang Anru was very smart, how would she expose her weakness to anyone else?
