※8/13 Revision: Fixed punctuation. I still think there are some odd parts.

This is the best I can do for now.

※8/9 Revision: I revised the entire text based on feedback. I’ve studied the details of magic and writing, and I think it’s better than before, but it’s still rough. I’ll keep working hard, so please take a look if you can.

Sunlight filters through the trees.

The warmth on the ears of the grain and the scent of the earth tickle the nostrils.

“What… Did I fall asleep again?”

He rubbed his eyes with the back of his hand and got up.

His eyelids were still heavy, and everything around him was blurry.

Gradually, the scenery around him became clearer.

The surroundings were a vast grassland, with a breathtaking view stretching to the horizon.

“Is this still a dream…? Maybe I’ll take another nap.”

He closed his eyes quietly, enjoying the warmth of the sun.

He was about to let go of consciousness again.

“Wha—? No way! Why am I in a grassland? Is this some kind of prank show?”

The sensation of the earth and the wind brushing against his skin felt too real.

He couldn’t believe this was a dream and blurted out his thoughts.

He pinched his cheek to check if it hurt.

He took out his mobile phone, but it was out of service.

He wished it was a dream, but that hope was quickly shattered.

“Come on… This can’t be real. I can’t believe it. I don’t want to think it’s true, but… I still have to find a place with people. But 360 degrees of horizon? What kind of torture is this!”

He sighed to himself.

But staying here wouldn’t help.

Reluctantly, he started walking towards the horizon.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After about three hours of walking, a forest appeared around him.
At first, it was just a few trees, but as he got closer, it turned out to be a dense forest with large trees.
“My stomach is growling, and I feel like I’m going to die. I forgot that I only drank alcohol yesterday…”
His steps became heavier due to hunger.
He looked around.
Suddenly, he noticed fruit on a tree in front of him.
It looked like an orange.
He was at his limit from hunger.
He would eat anything that was edible.
He hurriedly picked the fruit from the tree, peeled it, and was about to put it in his mouth.
“Hey! Kid, don’t eat that! It’s poisonous. And don’t move!”
A voice came from behind, and he stopped his action and turned around.
There stood a man dressed like a holy knight in silver plate armor.
He looked heavily armored and seemed to have difficulty moving.
At first, Kuren thought he was a cosplayer.
The man drew a large sword and ran towards him.
Kuren’s expression tensed.
It was clear that the man was serious.
The man swung his sword next to Kuren, who was frozen in place.
With a splat, something rolled to the ground.
Kuren wiped cold sweat from his back and slowly looked in the direction of the sound.
There, a 150 cm long spider was cut in half, twitching and convulsing, green liquid spurting from its body.
“You were in a dangerous spot. Kid, that’s a Gracian Spider! It’s highly venomous. If it bites you, you’ll be paralyzed instantly and then eaten!”
The man, who looked like a cosplayer, smiled and said to Kuren.
“Ah, thank you… I’m saved…”
Kuren’s expression was slightly dazed.
“Do you know that the orange fruit around here is highly poisonous and can’t be eaten?”
Kain pointed to the orange fruit and said.
“No, I’m sorry. I just arrived here a moment ago. I didn’t know it was poisonous.”
“Huh… Really? Well, that’s good. The orange fruit is poisonous. If you ate it, the poison would spread and you’d die. If I hadn’t been here, you would have been dead. Hahaha.”
The man, who looked like a cosplayer, laughed heartily.
Kuren smiled awkwardly and asked where he was, partly to confirm his own thoughts.
“Huh? This is the Sazara Great Grassland. If you go east through the forest, you’ll reach the Grand Palace, the Great Labyrinth City. Don’t you know?”
Kuren sighed inwardly.
This wasn’t Japan or any other country.
He realized he was in a different world.
He hid his expression and replied with a forced smile.
“I’m sorry, I don’t know much. My brain isn’t working well due to hunger.”
He scratched his head and said.
“Why don’t you join my party? We have food.”
“Really? That would be a huge help!”
“We help each other in times of need. I’m Ilga Orks. What’s your name, kid?”
“I’m Kuren Ashiya. Nice to meet you, Uncle Ilga.”
Kuren said with a smile.
They started walking, and Ilga looked at Kuren’s outfit curiously.
“You have a strange outfit.”
“Huh? Is it? This is my usual wear…”
He was wearing an aloha shirt and shorts, with a white coat over the shirt, and sandals instead of shoes.
“You’re not an adventurer. Maybe a healer?”
“Huh? Adventurer, healer? Are those jobs?”
Kuren tilted his head, a question mark appearing above it.
Seeing his expression, Ilga sighed and explained.
This world has many labyrinths.
The most difficult one is the Grand Palace labyrinth in this area.
Adventurers aim to conquer it.
Conquering the labyrinth earns great rewards from the government, such as status, fame, territory, and money.
Kuren thought it didn’t concern him.
However, most people make a living by selling items dropped from monsters in the labyrinth.
He thought it would be fine to earn some money.
Healers treat those who are injured in the labyrinth and support them inside the labyrinth.
“Got it. Are you, Uncle Ilga, going to challenge the Grand Palace labyrinth?”
“Yeah, I came to the Sazara Great Grassland for preparation.”
“Thanks to that, I was saved.”
They walked and chatted.
“Hey, Ilga! Who’s that person?”
A girl suddenly spoke to Ilga.
She had lustrous red short hair, wore a blue robe, and had slightly upturned eyes, looking angry.
Kuren looked at her intently.
He whispered, “Wow, she’s quite beautiful,” and thought she was in her early twenties.
“I’m sorry for being late. This kid is Kuren, whom I met in the forest of the Sazara Great Grassland.”
“Nice to meet you, I’m Kuren Ashiya.”
Kuren said with a smile.
“Nice to meet you. I’m Lilica Arnold.”
Lilica bowed slightly.
After a brief greeting, Kuren explained the situation.
“You managed to get this far with that outfit?”
Lilica looked at Kuren with a squint.
Kuren tried to brush it off, saying, “I was lucky.”
“Kuren, have you checked your status?”
“Status? What’s that? How do I check it?”
“...”
Kuren’s words made them look at him as if to say, “How did you survive without knowing this?”
“I don’t know what I don’t know… It would be great if you could teach me. I think there’s still a lot I don’t know. Could you explain in detail?”
He clasped his hands together in a pleading gesture.
They explained to him with a sigh while riding in a carriage on the way to Grand Palace.
“I see….”
He nodded, his hand on his chin.
A status screen appeared in front of Kuren.
He wanted to comment on how it appeared just by thinking about it, but he kept it to himself.
Kuren Ashiya
Lv1
(“This… This is what I wrote on that site before bed. I wrote it half-jokingly, wishing for an operating room I could use anywhere, and it’s reflected here. And my HP is visible, but… My MP is a mess because I wrote that more is better.”)
He felt like his mind was going crazy.
Another thing that caught his attention was his appearance.
He had created an avatar along with his status on that site.
He remembered he had made it based on how he looked at 18.
He used his phone as a mirror to check his face.
There, he saw a silver-backed hairstyle, green eyes, slightly upturned eyes, and a handsome face.
His thoughts paused for a moment.
He quickly shook his head, thinking it was pointless to dwell on it.
He gave up, thinking it was a waste of time to think about it.
“Uncle Ilga, I have one more question….”
“Huh? Another one?”
Kuren said with a wry smile.
“What’s the average HP?”
“Huh? Initially, it’s around 100, I think. I’ve heard that experienced adventurers have HP in the thousands or even tens of thousands.”
Kuren sighed at his own broken stats.
He understood a lot.
Next, he thought about the financial aspect.
His stomach growled.
Kuren, as if he had forgotten, bowed to the two again, asking for food.
Ilga sighed and gave him dried meat and bread.
Kuren ate the food gratefully.
His stomach was full, and he felt better.
Kuren opened his status screen and read the descriptions of his skills.
Kuren sighed at his skills and magic.
(“This interdimensional operating room can create everything needed for surgery just by imagining it… MP consumption is irrelevant. I don’t know how much I have, but… This is a different world. Medical regulations are probably non-existent, and I can set my own prices. I might be able to make a fortune. I also need to know the level of medical technology in this world.”)
He smiled wickedly, thinking about the possibilities.
“Hey, Kuren, we’re almost there.”
He hid his wicked expression.
He replied with a forced smile to Ilga’s words.
He leaned out of the carriage and looked at the Grand Palace, the Great Labyrinth City.
A massive wall surrounded the city, about 20 meters high, looking like an impregnable fortress.
Kuren was taken aback.
He had never seen a city entirely surrounded by a wall in Japan.
He was fascinated by the wall.
“This is a man’s dream. This is great.”
Kuren shivered and acted like a child.
“Hahaha, most people who come to the Grand Palace for the first time are excited by this scene.”
Inside, the city looked like medieval Europe, with cobblestone streets and irregularly arranged shops.
Various races were present, with horns, ears, and tails, and the city was bustling with people.
Kuren parted ways with the two, who both waved with smiles.
“Well, I’ll do some investigating. I’ll check out a medical shop first. I need information.”
He smiled, thinking, “This is going to be interesting,” and disappeared into the crowd.
