” It's ok, I'm not hungry………” I must not……. delude myself with false hope again. Being in such proximity to him are already making those shameful thoughts rear its ugly head once again. It is better………. to keep a safe distance away.

” Are you trying to tell me you already had lunch? Just do as I say and stop being naggy.”

Famed restaurants are always brimming with customers during weekends, yet we could obtain seats, reserved seats no less.

I gave Lu Feng the eye, he acted all innocent, casually flipping the menu.

” What are we having?”

I was not going to say ‘anything'. I examined the menu thoroughly from the first page to the last twice, and ordered a couple of common cuisine, tofu and soup. These simple home-cooked dishes came with an appalling price, not to mention those exotic sounding dishes like braised camel hooves which I would never order even if there was a gun pointing to my head. Looking at those numbers on the price tag, one hoof would be able to kick me all the way home.

Lu Feng cruelly rolled his eyes at me: ” It's not like I am asking you to pay, what are you afraid of? The mentality of a peasant, will not improve in a hundred years.”

Out of spite, I ordered a large serving of prawns, steamed fish, and that cursed braised camel hooves which turned up looking like an unappetizing piece of turd from the rear end of a big bear.

With steam coming out of my mouth like a fresh basket of hot dumplings, I was in the midst of peeling those red translucent prawns, when someone pat me on the back forcefully, the prawn shot out of my mouth straight into the soup bowl.

Looking back, it was none other than Ding Ding and Zhu Sha.

” Are the two of you looking to die, trying to murder me in broad daylight.”

” Are you serious? You are not home munching on instant ramen, instead splurging on yourself here on a weekend? Ding Ding pretended to faint, ” When I spotted you earlier, I thought I was seeing things.”

” We did not make any reservations and came late, you are occupying the whole table by yourself, how wasteful, let's cosy up.”

I bit the prawn and pointed to the empty seat in front of me: ” It's occupied, he just went to the washroom. ”

” A friend? It's ok, this table can seat four.” They unbashedly pulled the chairs out in a fanfare and parked themselves down, Zhu Sha sitting next to me, Ding Ding opposite her, right next to Lu Feng's seat.

They promptly started to make their orders, I can only silently accept it.

As expected, Lu Feng took it in his stride when he returned and noticed the extra additions, the two did not take it as calmly though as they nearly jumped out of their seats.

” You ass, why didn't you tell us you are with the boss! You'll get it from me tomorrow! ” Zhu Sha said with a lowered voice and stomped down on my feet not withholding her strength.

I speechlessly chomp down on my prawns.

Lu Feng could recognise Zhu Sha, his face tensed visibly, but greeted them pleasantly, and started a leisure chat with them.

The dishes they ordered arrived and as we carried on eating and chatting, the atmosphere gradually relaxed.

Lu Feng does not deliberately put on airs, he is simply not bothered to go out of his way to cater to others. Since everyone is amiable, his expressions also became less disagreeable.

Ding Ding would never miss the chance to shower attention on the goddess whom he had placed on a pedestal. Even in the presence of the boss he could not help but to fuss over Zhu Sha, heaping food on her plate, removing fish bones for her, even I felt embarrassed for him. Lu Feng wore a loathsome expression, and kept glancing at me to scrutinise my reactions.

I cluelessly picked up another serving of prawns.

Lu Feng's stance hardened again, their intimacy and my indifference infuriating him equally.

Ding Ding at this point raised a napkin to wipe away some sauce on the corner of Zhu Sha's lips.

I was just about to warn Ding Ding not to forget his decorum in front of the boss, Lu Feng had already slammed his chopsticks on the table, his voice deepened to a scary decibel level: ” What are you two up to! ”

Ding Ding was shocked out of his wits, the napkin frozen in his hand, Zhu Sha was also bewildered.

” Are you still Xiao Chen's girlfriend? ! Flirting with other men in front of him !”

My prawn fell into the soup bowl again.
