Chapter 3 of 3

Chapter 2 - At last, she finally entered school

The Lestria school uniform is a navy blue one-piece dress. Its tie is short and its color is a gentle shade of custard cream. The round embroidered collar is slightly larger and as for footwear, it’s short boots which look neat and adorable.

It looks good on you, Miss Rose.”

“Is that so? I think these designs are quite incompatible for me.”

Rosalia can be seen holding down her skirt in front of a large mirror, turning around.

Milia flatly denied it, “What are you talking about? Miss Rose looks elegant and so noble that exudes purity. However, that is also why it’s quite dangerous to wear a dress that emphasizes your girlishness….”

“I don’t quite understand, but how can you conclude that it doesn’t look good in the end?” she continued as she looked at Gredior at the corner of the room, who wasn’t making any eye contact.

Gredior has dark hair, golden-green eyes, and a handsome face, but no woman is able to make any advances at him. That’s because there’s no woman strong enough to bear his silence.

Today is a commemorative day, it’s Rosalia’s first day to attend school. Even though her grandfather was half-driven, his movement was swift. After only three days of completing her registration, she immediately was sent to the school. She arrives quite early as the campus is located within the capital. However, since there’s a dormitory system, she’ll only be able to exchange letters with Rizik for a while.

The room in the dormitory given to Rosalia was primarily for royalty use. Originally, she planned to stay in a two-person room, however due to certain circumstances, it was decided that she stay in a single room in haste.

The splendor decor in the room made the atmosphere quite empty. It’s almost like being at her home.

Rosalia, who hoped to be able to spend her days as an ordinary youth, was a little disappointed. Even in the Lestria Academy, where only aristocratic children are all gathered, ‘Rose princess’ seems to be under the same strict level of security as the royal family.

“Anyhow, I’d like to see Sir Cadio soon.”

“Since he’s the escort of the prince, it’d be quite difficult to casually meet.”

“Yes. First, I need to establish a good relationship with His Highness.”

That is, since his job requires him to always be around. Even after school or during meal breaks, he gets to shift with other knights. Even so, she might also be able to meet him after His Highness’ classes.

As a student, Rosalia is able to get close to His Royal Highness. If Cadio’s master remembers her, it’ll be easier.

“I’m glad that I’m in the same class as His Highness. I believe an opportunity will come around soon.”

“Not only His Highness, but you’re in the same class as your brother-in-law, Sir Alesis. Sir Forse is a year older, so you won’t have that much chance to meet each other, but the girl who’s under a scholarship must be in the same class.”

“It’s a very troubling place…”

Her relationship with Forse Meletzen, the duke’s third son as well as her fiancé, has been cold for a long time. He was honest and sincere at first. He was always respectful of Rosalia and treated her as his fiancé. His previous visits to the Seltfer household were once frequent. It is from the time he started attending school that he hardly showed his face. There were no letters exchanged, and he became increasingly estranged.

She felt quite sad and lonely those days. She wasn’t in love with him though, it felt more like a familial bond. It’s the same with Alesis.

Since Rosalia’s the only one under the direct line of the family, her brother in law, at a young age, was taken from a close lineage for him to become the head of the family. Despite being praised for his excellence, he was separated from his parents and often cried in the shadows when he was young. Little by little throughout the years, he became familiar with the Seltfer family.

In the past, he’d tell stories to her about the outside since his sister-in-law could not go out. They were like real siblings.

At the time when he first entered school, Alesis would return home every week on his days off. He’d say that it wouldn’t be a problem to see Rosalia and Rizik’s face. But now, even on a long holiday or vacation, he wouldn’t even show his face and visit.

According to Milia’s investigation, the cause was the scholarship student.

She grimaced, “…Is there really no grudge left on the scholarship girl?” she had that similar look on her face throughout her investigation.

Rosalia slightly smiles as she gave out a faint murmur, “If so, he’s already retaliating for it. Forse’s change of heart perhaps happened because I was not attractive. It’s wrong to blame her or anyone.”

“Miss Rose is too understanding!”

“Is that so? I didn’t even try to stop it. I think I’m to blame.”

Rosalia’s surprised that the scholarship student is quite intrigued by other people who’s supposedly considered to be the prime minister’s successor.

One woman, three men. She wondered as she’s more concerned about whether their relationship is properly established or not. She can only have that kind of impression, therefore Rosalia has no fault in thinking that. Even in her mind, she can only devote it to Cadio.

She gazed outside the window at the school building shining by the morning sun. The exterior of the historic wall is made of red brick, full of hedela overgrown in some places.

She really is going to Lestria Academy, the thought on which she had given up for a long time. All of this is thanks to the presence that pushed her to walk her own life without having to endure.

“Milia, I was the one who was wasting my life away until yesterday. I have no intention of giving up this love.” Rosalia’s silver blonde hair shone under the sunlight from the east window. Her icy blue eyes were full of confidence as it shimmered and gave of a fresh unprecedented vitality.

Milia looked at her with emotion, but when she processed the meaning in her declaration, she held herself back again.

Rosalia continued, “…If I could, I wanted to show my strong will by doing something different.”

It was unusual for Gredior to speak in between their conversation, but he had to interrupt them, “Miss Rosalia, if you don’t go to school soon, you’ll be late for class.”

“Oh, it’s already time. I’ll have less time to talk to Sir Cadio now.”

Gredior stood by the door and handed her her school bag.

“Well, I’ll be off.”

“Take care.”

Rosalia went out as she walked by with elegance. At the end of the cobblestone pathway were well-maintained flowers. They were in full bloom to give delight to the eyes of the students.

This mellow season is filled with color and the refreshing scent of lavender, amaryllis, and purple and white delphinium. Small dianthus flowers were adorned at the base of the tree, a beautiful magnolia tree with buds as beautiful as white snow. Rosalia’s attention was more focused on it than the blooming flowers.

It is not unreasonable for people’s attention to be focused on transfer students who came halfway through mid-April. Though, it may also be because there are rumors that it’s the “ Rose princess ” who they haven’t come close with nor close enough to be in their line of sight. As she proceeded with her walk, she noticed the person in front of her.

“Good morning, Your Royal Highness.” she bowed as she greeted him.

The young man, a little taller than Rosalia, looked back. Beautiful blonde hair like the sun and clear green eyes that are inherited only by the royal family. Although lacking in gorgeousness, his calm beauty calms the hearts and minds of the viewer. It is Renvild Vahlherm Lestria. And of course the person behind him is Cadio.

Renvild recognized Rosalia and smiled warmly, “Good morning. You’re the granddaughter of the Marquis, Rosalia Seltfer, who transferred here today. I heard about you from my brother.”

The King must have heard that Rizik was forced to carry out the transfer. Rosalia bowed down even lower, “I was prepared to live my life quietly as the ‘Rose princess’ , but this time I chose to leave that path. I apologize for any inconvenience that has been caused.”

In the long history, it is undeniable that the actions of the ‘Rose princess’ has been restricted by the royal family. It was also due to the support and backing of the royal family that she was engaged to the third son of a Duke’s family, who’s close in age.

Rosalia was careful not to offend them, but Renvild shook his head with a smile, “For whatever reason, I believe that the solution to place all the burden on one person is wrong. I respect you for your brave decision.”

Despite knowing that Rosalia is the ‘Rose Princess’ , the prince treated her fairly. On the contrary, it seems that he doesn’t think much nor like the old customs. He has a more open mindset.

“Thank you very much, Your Highness.”

“From today onwards, we will be classmates. Please, feel free to call me Renvild.”

“Then, I am Rosalia.” she smiled then glanced at Cadio, who was standing behind him. It seemed that he remembered her as he was staring.

“Do you remember me, Sir Cadio?”

“Yes. I thank you very much for your help in that time.”

Renvild blinked at the friendly conversation between the two. Cadio explained their encounter in detail. Listening to his story, Rosalia found out that he was running away from Renvild that day. She wondered why he was running away from the master he’s serving. She inferred that he probably had a problem in his daily life that time since there were rumors that he lost his memories.

Feeling quite ashamed, Cadio scratched his head as he looked at Renvild, who was smiling at his escort’s behavior. Looking at the trust between them, the rumor about his memory loss seems to be a complete hoax.

Cadio then turned to Rosalia with a shy smile, “Though I’m glad. The fact that you’ve transferred here means that I’m able to meet you at any time from now on. I’ll be able to somehow give you my thanks.”

“Well, it’s enough just to know that you’re thankful. Sir Cadio is quite a serious person, aren’t you?”

“No, that’s not the case. Well, if you don’t mind, would you like to go out shopping with me next time? If there’s anything you’d like, I’ll give it to you.”

Rosalia was surprised at his unexpected offer like a trap. She blinded at the idea as her attention was on him, forgetting that Renvild was there. She immediately nodded as to not miss this great opportunity.

Suddenly, a friendly voice, which ruined the happy moment, broke the conversation between the two, “Renvild! Cadio!”
