The thunderstorm was only a small episode. After calming down, Yu Lan did not take this matter to heart and even felt ashamed that he was so afraid of thunder that he fell on the ground and couldn’t get up.
The next few days he went to class as usual. His course was progressing at a rapid pace.
Teacher Bai couldn’t help but say in the middle of class, “Ah Lan, are you in a hurry? You can take your time.”
Of course, it certainly wasn’t that the youth was a bit eager for success. The fact was that when she checked Yu Lan’s learning results, the other was very stable.
She didn’t know what had happened to the pretty young man to make him reach the age of twenty-two but still have to learn the knowledge of a child. But apparently, Yu Lan himself was a very bright student.
But there was no need to learn so quickly- it’s very fatiguing to have to digest a given amount of knowledge in the shortest amount of time possible.
The young man sitting behind the desk thought about it, raised his head and laughed softly. “Probably something like wanting to be able to make money faster?”
Teacher Bai was stunned, then laughed, thinking that the youth was only joking and did not take the reply seriously.
It was always around evening when Yu Lan returned to the manor and today, there was a guest.
Yu Lan rubbed the head of the little Mars, who had run out to greet him with enthusiasm, and followed the sheepdog into the living room to see a woman sitting on the couch.
It was an omega.
Dressed in a long white dress, she had long, soft and wavy hair. With delicate makeup on her face, a beautiful and clear appearance and soft temperament.
The woman was holding a cup of hot tea and turned her head when she noticed Yu Lan.
The moment their eyes met, they each paused.
The woman was the first to compose her expression and nodded with a smile. “Hello.”
Yu Lan also responded politely.
Uncle Liu was hiding in the kitchen making a call. On the side, Aunty Jiang noticed that Yu Lan came back, hurried out, said, “Yu Lan, you’re back. This is… Mr Shao’s guest. Uh, do you want to go upstairs and take a shower first?”
Yu Lan, sensitive to what was going on, was silent for a second and shook his head. “I’m going to put my stuff down and walk little Mars. I’ll shower after I come back.”
I just have to get out of their way, right?
Now that Yu Lan was responsible for little Mars’s morning and evening walks, Aunty Jiang didn’t say anything. She looked at the woman and nodded, “Then go ahead…”
Yu Lan put down his things and took little Mars outside to put on the leash.
The woman kept looking at the figure in the corridor, her eyes carefully depicting Yu Lan’s appearance.
An omega so beautiful that even she was a little distracted…
A few seconds later, she turned to Aunty Jiang and smiled. “Is this Mr Shao’s?”
“A friend’s younger brother,” Aunty Jiang said with a dry smile.
She’s too sensitive, which was exactly why Aunty Jiang wanted to distract Yu Lan. It’s best not to get Yu Lan involved in the affairs of Mr Shao’s mother’s side.
Behind her, Uncle Liu was lowering his voice and saying, “Yes, your grandfather suddenly sent her over… When will you be back? Ah, alright.”
When he hung up, Aunty Jiang leaned over and whispered, “Did the call finally go through? Is Mr Shao coming back?”
“He almost here. He should at the manor’s entrance by now, “ Uncle Liu said.
“He actually came back?” Aunty Jiang was a little surprised.
“What are you thinking about.” Uncle Liu glanced at her. “Mr Shao is here to get documents.”
It’s this young lady who got lucky.
On several occasions in the past, Mr Shao’s maternal grandfather had sent blind dates over, but they had been put off by Mr Shao’s absence.
But they did not expect that the old man’s attitude would be exceptionally strong today. He probably knew that coming in warmly would never break down the gates of this manor, so the men sent today were expressionless, and no matter what they said, they were going to send this lady in.
And it was just a coincidence that Mr Shao happened to be back for something else.
In that case, let’s leave it to Mr Shao to solve it himself.
Uncle Liu and Aunty Jiang looked at each other and shrugged.
Yu Lan walked out onto the lawn after attaching the leash to little Mars, just as a figure turned out from the back of the villa. As soon as the other saw Yu Lan, his eyes lit up and waved at him, trotting over with a cheerful smile on his face. “Yu Lan!”
Very tall, handsome and sunny, Liu Yu, the son of Uncle Liu, the housekeeper. He was only twenty years old and in college.
He was said to have been working a summer job in the city some time ago and the part-time job ended the day before yesterday, so he himself had returned to the estate- where Uncle Liu’s family lived.
Yu Lan had only met the other once and vaguely remembered that this was the alpha that Uncle Liu had almost called back from the urban district when he was in estrus. Although it was a little awkward, he could sense that he was a pleasant person to be around.
Liu Yu is Uncle Liu’s stepson, hence the situation where Uncle Liu is beta and Liu Yu is alpha, but the two have a good father-son relationship.
Yu Lan saw the other and politely greeted him, “Hello.”
Liu Yu was very happy to see Yu Lan.
Coming back after living elsewhere for a while, he found that there was a little omega in the manor, who was super beautiful. Just by looking at him, Liu Yu felt that his heart was “pounding” and his face couldn’t help but feel hot.
On the first day they met, he went back to the house and grabbed his father to ask what the relationship between this little omega and Mr Shao was. After learning that it wasn’t what he thought, Liu Yu clenched his fists in excitement.
A single little omega!
Poked his heart as soon as they met!
It didn’t matter if it was two years older than him, it didn’t matter if he was from the Silver Moon Clan, he didn’t care!
At this moment standing in front of the other, Liu Yu’s palms were sweating from nervousness, but he still had to maintain his handsome image and grinned. “Are you walking little Mars? Let’s go together!”
This enthusiasm was simply bashing on his face and Yu Lan inevitably nodded. “Okay…”
Before he left, he couldn’t help but look back at the woman in the living room.
Liu Yu observed Yu Lan’s every move and noticed it. He thought he was curious, so he leaned next to his ear and said, “That’s Mr Shao’s blind date. Mr Shao’s grandfather had sent many over several times before and he was blocked out, but today he finally managed to send someone in.”
Yu Lan lowered his head, pursed his lips and remained silent.
Liu Yu said to himself, “But Mr Shao is worthy of being Mr Shao. Every blind date his family has arranged for him all had a very powerful background and almost all of them were a conglomerate’s daughter. They’re all beautiful, elegant and intellectual, but Mr Shao doesn’t seem to like them. Who knows what kind of person he will choose to become his wife.”
Liu Yu looked to the sky and imagined it, enviously saying, “It must be someone worlds apart from us anyway.”
At that, he thought of something and quickly said, “Ah, no, it’s a world apart from me-”
Yu Lan turned his head to look at him and helplessly said, “It’s ‘us’.”
He was also just as ordinary as an ordinary person could be and was in a completely different world from Mr Shao.
Liu Yu was stunned.
Although it was a little not good, when he heard Yu Lan say so, he was actually a little happy.
His father didn’t know much about Yu Lan’s situation, only that Yu Lan was a friend of Mr Shao’s and was staying here temporarily.
But where this friend came from and why he was living here, his dad was unclear.
Although Liu Yu fell in love with Yu Lan at first sight, he was also afraid that the other was the same as Mr Shao. If that was the case, then he was somewhat unworthy.
At this point, he was secretly leaping with excitement. “By the way, how long will you be staying with Mr Shao?”
Yu Lan shook his head. He didn’t know either, but-
“It shouldn’t be too long,” Yu Lan said hesitantly, “I won’t trouble Mr Shao for too long.”
“Is that so…” said Liu Yu expectantly. “Then are you going home after? Or do you want to go out and live on your own? By the way, can we add contact information? Oh yeah, I hear you’re in class now? Are you going to university in the future? Which school do you want to go to?”
Yu Lan, “…”
He silently quickened his pace.
There were so many questions. He didn’t know how to answer them!
*
The car was parked on the lawn.
Shao Mingyu walked into the villa and the woman sitting on the sofa immediately stood up and happily said, “Mr Shao!”
The man was handsome and rich, with an exquisite temperament. He could almost be called a top alpha and God knows how many omegas or even betas secretly admired this man. Just the sight of the man’s figure made the woman’s heart beat very fast.
And Shao Mingyu nodded, took the lead in checking out the living room. When he didn’t see anyone, he asked Uncle Liu, who came out, “Where’s Yu Lan?”
The woman’s hands tightened slightly, keeping a decent smile on her face.
Uncle Liu did not expect the man to ask about Yu Lan as soon as he got back. With his tongue in cheek, he quickly said, “Walking the dog.”
Shao Mingyu looked out the window again before nodding and turning his gaze lightly towards the woman, walking over and sitting down on the couch.
The woman blushed and sat back down.
Uncle Liu and Aunty Jiang continued to hide in the kitchen.
Yu Lan and Liu Yu both strolled around outside for a long time, during which it was always Liu Yu talking and Yu Lan occasionally saying something back.
This was the first time he had met someone so chatty…
When he got to the vineyard, Liu Yu ran over and picked a bunch, rushing back and handing it over. “Do you want some? Mr Shao grows them and everyone can eat them!”
Yu Lan was in a trance, remembering the scene on the second day after arriving at the manor, standing over here eating grapes with the man. He pursed his lips, reached out and picked one off.
Still sweet and sour, but the flavour seems a bit more astringent today.
Liu Yu blushed and said, “Your pheromones taste like grapes too…”
“By the way, my pheromones smell fruity too. Do you want to smell?” Liu Yu took a step closer.
Yu Lan froze.
Most people usually converge their pheromones to the extreme, leaving only a fraction of their faint pheromone that inevitably surrounds their body.
But generally, the only way to tell what it smells like is to get close.
When he approached before, Liu Yu smelled Yu Lan’s pheromone, but Yu Lan didn’t notice Liu Yu’s at all.
Having heard what was said, he was uncertain, but he leaned in for a sniff and hesitantly said, “Is it lemon?”
“Yep!” Liu Yu blushed and smiled, “We’re very much destined, aren’t we?”
Yu Lan tilted his head and looked at him.
He had to say that without Mr Shao, Yu Lan actually wouldn’t have let down his guard against the outside world so quickly.
His past life had led him to build an outer wall of protection for himself, but Mr Shao’s appearance instantly shattered that wall, so Yu Lan saw the better side of the world without much struggle.
It’s true that he couldn’t get too close to alphas other than Mr Shao, but he was not against learning to accept kindness from others.
It was a process, and because of Mr Shao, Yu Lan was able to change himself at such a fast pace.
Liu Yu was a good person.
His scent was clean and Yu Lan didn’t hate it.
If Liu Yu was willing, maybe-
There was a hesitant thought in Yu Lan’s heart
They walked on and quickly returned to the lawn.
And on the lawn, the man stood long and tall, watching the woman get into the aircraft
“Huh, they’re done so quickly?” Liu Yu was surprised. “We’ve only been walking for around twenty minutes, right?”
When little Mars saw his master, he wagged his tail and barked, and the man looked their way.
The man’s dark eyes were dark and when he met them, Yu Lan’s hand clutching the leash tightened slightly.
And in the next second, the man’s calm gaze shifted to Liu Yu.
The woman who stepped into the aircraft turned, reluctantly smiling as she tried to say goodbye to the man, but found him staring motionlessly in another direction.
She bit her lip and looked over.
They were sent out after only chatting for a bit. No matter how stupid people were, anyone could tell that the man had no interest in that aspect at all and was even perfunctory.
And more often than not, the man’s attention seemed to be on the other person-
-Is he really just “a friend’s younger brother?”
Liu Yu saw the man paying attention to them, while the woman in the aircraft apparently still wanted to talk to the latter, he poked out his tongue. “Hurry up and leave, don’t disturb us.”
He pushed Yu Lan.
Yu Lan returned to his senses, a sour feeling rising in his heart. He quickly turned around and hurriedly followed Liu Yu into the villa without a word.
On the lawn, the man watched their backs and narrowed his eyes slightly.
