Chapter 5

Yangliu village was not big. It only had a population of about hundred people. Whenever there would be a dispute in one’s family, it spread all over the village immediately. Hence a lot of people came to watch.

Everybody had heard about the Xia family. Secretly they scolded Xia Dinghai for not being a human and bullying his widowed sister-in-law and nieces, but no one dared to voiced their thoughts.

The Xia family was the ‘richest family’ in the village. Except for the First master Xia Dingshan, the other two brothers were arrogant and often used power to subdue people in the village.

Xia Qianqian squinted her eyes a little and noticed that there was a middle-aged man standing in the crowd who was particularly neatly dressed. He was looking at her and somewhat looked familiar.

Xia Qianqian recalled that this man was the housekeeper of the Gu family in the town. Didn’t he come here to see me, eh? Just in time!

What Xia Qianqian waited for was this sentence: “Second Uncle, in this case, my family is innocent and there is no such thing as bringing bad luck for father, right?”

“Then my father’s death has nothing to do with the three of us mother and daughter?” Xia Qianqian continued to ask, she must clean her name today.
