Blood Demon (2)

“What’s the price?” Ying Qiu looked bleak, “what does it matter? Even if it takes my life, what does it matter?”

Huai Bai sneered, “How much is your life worth?”

She rarely is so sharp and mean to someone she knows is pitiful, but the words in her mouth are more hurtful than the others.

“That’s a demon. The more painful the world, the happier she will be,” Huai Bai’s eyes showed disgust and hatred. “It’s ridiculous that you believed in a demon’s price,” she pointed to the meat mountain on the bed. “Isn’t this the price?”

Ying Qiu followed, her lips trembling slightly.

Her young lady, a little girl who is already beautiful without powder, should be carefree amidst the colors and butterflies flying, holding a fan and flapping butterflies carefree, her figure fluttering and dancing in the wind, and should not be like a dead thing all day long. Sitting here, she doesn’t know anything other than repeating the pain before death.

It shouldn’t be like this.

But what can she do?

She never had a choice. From when she was abducted and sold by traffickers, her arms and legs were interrupted, until she finally met with the young lady, suffered wars, and now. She seemed to have fallen in the abyss, thinking that she could always get to the end, but she found out that the pain of life is bottomless.

Every time is more unbearable.

“Heaven is thinner to me.” Ying Qiu choked up: “Heaven is not fair. I just want to protect a person. Why is this? I have worked so hard. Why is this still happening?”

(T/N: thinner means treats her worse)

Huai Bai looked at her silently.

Her brows and eyes were cold, and there was a faint disgust and hatred on her face.

“You are too weak, so even if you are toyed with or trampled, you have no ability to resist. To be born as an ant, you must have the consciousness of an ant.”

Xiao Bai’s furry tail raised, “Don’t say that! She is pathetic enough!”

Huai Bai’s wrist turned slightly, and the bamboo joints exploded. Xiao Bai shuddered in fright and did not dare to speak any more.

Huai Bai laughed, without the slightest smile in her eyes, “You can’t even protect yourself. You still want to protect others. It’s ridiculous.”

Xiao Bai tried to curl up into a ball, and the woman suddenly became terrible.

It’s like being poked in a sore spot.

The meat mountain trembled slightly, her eyes blinked, the turbidity subsided, and her black and white eyes were as clear as a spring.

“Ying Qiu.” She whispered.

Several people looked back together, Ying Qiu froze inconceivably. After a long time, she dared to take a step forward and asked quietly, “Miss?”

The expression was tense and the voice was soft, as if she was afraid of disturbing an ethereal dream.

Xia Ziyan tried to laugh, but the flesh on her face was squeezed together, making it difficult to even speak, “It’s me.”

“Miss?” Ying Qiu tremblingly touched it. The girl’s original bright face was no longer the original, and the meat under her hands was soft and greasy, but she carefully touched it, as if caressing the world’s treasure.

The grievances in Huani Village gradually dissipated, the magic circle collapsed, dark clouds piled up in the sky, and thunder was gathering.

Ying Qiu is murderous and destined to be punished by heaven.

Xiao Bai rolled to the feet of Huai Bai, “Immortal chief, shall we go?”

Huai Bai stood upright in the same place, still not speaking.

Xia Ziyan raised an arm strenuously, touched Ying Qiu’s face, and said, “Ying Qiu, shall we go to another place for a look in the future?”

Ying Qiu knelt on the ground with her head resting on her knees, and said softly: “Okay. I’ll take you to the beach. In fact, I secretly bought an island, prepared fishing boats and fishing gear, and built a wooden house garden. It’s waiting for you to pass.”

Xia Ziyan smiled and said, “Okay, the sea. I watched the sea when my father was on inspection. There was a moon on the sea. The moon there is so bright.” She paused and asked, “It’s only more than three hundred years. Will it not rot?”

Ying Qiu also laughed, and tears came out with a smile, “Then build another one. I made a lot of money.”

The gust of wind made the wooden windows choking, and Ying Qiu’s shoulders trembled. She cried and said, “Miss, it’s raining so hard, I really want to go home.”

Xia Ziyan held her, “Let’s go home together.”

Ying Qiu tilted her head to look at the young lady’s face, remembering the solemn idol that she had been looking at in the ruined temple when she was young, and couldn’t help asking: “Why doesn’t God come to save us?”

Xiao Bai saw tears in her eyes, but when a sky thunder struck her, it shrank in fright, “Immortal chief, immortal chief, let’s go.”

Huai Bai threw Xiao Bai out the window, but she took a step forward. The green cloak rose in the wind, and the green feathers were lonely and cold.

She held her hands, her long sleeves bulged, and a hunting wind was blowing under her feet, and thousands of jagged sword auras gushed out behind her.

Sword qi rolled, thousands of sword lights pierced the cloud like a bird, and shuttling like a net, cutting away the dark clouds in the sky.

“God doesn’t save you, I will save you.”

Many years ago, when she was determined to live a good life in this world, when she picked up the sword for the first time, her sword cultivating senior in Gushan once asked her: “Why practice the sword?”

She thought of a standard answer and said: “For the Dao.”

The sword senior closed the peak and disappeared, asking her to go back and think about it for another three years.

She faced the black cliffs of Gushan, and the flying white snow, thinking about it for three years. Think about this life, think about the past life, think about the destiny that has been written in the book.

Three years later, sword senior asked her again, and she said: “It’s my heart.”

The sword senior asked again: “Why does the sword move?”

She said: “Injustice.”

Later, she became the strongest sword cultivator in the division of mountains and the sea, had friends and teachers who she wanted to protect, became famous, and fell into the dust. Gain and loss, laughter and sadness, this world is no longer a foreign land to her. The people who are alive in this world are far from being a vague symbol in the book.

She remembered her vow not to hold the sword easily, and she also remembered that she once said that the sword moved according to her heart.

Ying Qiu looked over blankly, the woman surrounded by sword aura had a cold expression, and there were many interlaced sword marks on the ground where her feet were stepping, densely like intertwined spider webs. She held her hand, with one person’s strength, blocking the punishment for them.

After a quarter of an hour, the wind stopped and the clouds disappeared.

Huai Bai’s face was pale, and she raised her hand and gently wiped the blood that overflowed from the corner of her mouth.

Ying Qiu clenched her hand, and slowly let it go, “You, you……” Her eyes were full of tears, she didn’t know what to say for a while, choked up for a long time, and then whispered, “Why save us?”

Huai Bai did not know what she thought of, but her lips twitched very lightly. “Someone once told me that one day I will fall into the cold night like her, struggling in hopelessness, and finally become like her devil. The more painful the world is, the happier I will be. But she was wrong.”

“Not everyone who is caught in the cold night wants to merge with the night. I, and the sword in my hand, will never change.” With a wave of her sleeves, the two bodies of more than 300 years turned into dust and mud, and two young girls appeared in the dust.

They knelt down bowing three heads towards Huai Bai, and then walked away holding hands, not knowing whether to go to the Yellow Springs or the beach.

Huai Bai quietly looked at the back of them leaving, a flash of water suddenly flashed in her eyes.

“Master!”

Huai Bai turned around. The child didn’t know when she ran down the mountain, and looked at her pantingly with a worried expression on her face.

“Didn’t I let you stay on the mountain?”

Pei Yu stepped forward and held Huai Bai’s cold hand, “I’m worried about you.”

Huai Bai didn’t say anything, but bent down, pressed her forehead against the child’s forehead, and closed her eyes.

For some reason, Pei Yu suddenly remembered the words Xia Ziyan had said, and her face burned immediately.

She thought to herself three hundred years ago…… it should not have been successful.

Zhen’s thoughts:

Looks like her bark is worse than her bite. Low-key I was like “wtf is wrong with you” when she was calling Ying Qiu an ant, but then she went around and still blocked the punishment for them. Pretty sure that’s because she didn’t expect the young miss to speak, nor did she expect the curse to be broken at that moment. Honestly feels like she was talking shit about Ying Qiu in a way that was scolding herself since that “demon” she was talking about is the friend she has alluded to multiple times now.

Anyways I just wanted to explain that because it was a bit confusing seeing her turn her face and still help Ying Qiu and Xia Ziyan after saying so much nasty shit. Also as a continuation of the last chapter, I’m pretty sure that what Xia Ziyan told Pei Yu was that her other self went after as in chased Huai Bai romantically. That’s the only thing that makes sense with the blushing in the previous chapter and the blushing in this chapter.
