Awakening stealthily returned to the Western Garden, to Li Wenji's residence, determined to personally punish the short-haired little girl.

The lush grass rustled, its green stems and leaves supple and resilient.

Such abundant vegetation was rare in the Netherworld, only the mansions of the Great Ghosts could possess it; the rest of the places were mostly desolate.

However, there were advantages and disadvantages. The dense vegetation helped Awakening's infiltration. Now, he was crawling in the grass, using a simple breath-holding technique, moving forward while holding his breath, his peripheral vision frequently catching sight of the tall and imposing ghost servants, which made him feel both frightened and tense.

"Hehe, I just realized, ghosts don't need to breathe at all," Awakening chuckled, easing his tension. He had successfully crossed the defense line of the ghost servants and was now approaching Li Wenji's living quarters.

The residence, which incorporated various architectural styles from around the world, was magnificent and noble, with red tiles and white walls, leaning towards a Western style.

Behind the floor-to-ceiling windows and beige curtains, the lights were bright. The Netherworld used mysterious powers to replace electricity, creating a sense of an electrified life.

Awakening crouched low, tiptoed along the wall, his eyes frequently scanning the surroundings, and his ears listening carefully.

"Jingle jingle"

Awakening's ears perked up, and he looked up to see a maid carrying a silver tray and golden plate walking towards the kitchen.

"It seems I have to sacrifice myself again," Awakening muttered. He nimbly climbed onto the corridor, hanging upside down from the ceiling. When the maid passed, he suddenly dropped down, struck her from behind, then flipped over and quickly caught the nearly falling silver tray and golden plate.

This process was quick and made little noise. Awakening was already experienced with this, but he was using it again in the Netherworld.

Awakening sighed, dragged the unconscious maid to a cluster of flowers, and took off her clothes, putting them on himself.

Before long, Awakening emerged from the flower bed, now dressed as a woman, with long, black, shiny hair, a slender figure, bright eyes, and skin as smooth as jade. With his professional disguise, he looked even more beautiful than the previous maid, making even real women jealous!

"When was the last time I dressed as a woman?" Awakening smoothed out the slightly wrinkled hem of his dress, a hint of nostalgia in his eyes, and a smile on his lips. He remembered that his previous female disguise, after thorough makeup, had a stunning appearance that had charmed many men.

Then Awakening patted his clothes, checked them, and found no unnatural spots. He carried the golden plate and silver tray, a gentle smile on his handsome face, and walked towards the kitchen.

The kitchen was brightly lit, with a warm and ancient yellow-orange light. The clean kitchen counter was equipped with complete and tidy utensils.

In front of the counter, a slightly overweight old man was busy. When he heard the sound at the door, he took out a silver watch from his pocket and said without turning around, "Four minutes later than usual, Alice!"

"Alice is out, I'm here to help," Awakening said calmly. His previously magnetic male voice had become clear and bright, like the tinkling of a mountain spring.

"Oh, damn it, where did she go again!"

The old man grumbled, then turned and saw Awakening, suddenly stunned. His large nose on his plump face twitched, and he asked, "Beautiful lady, are you new? Old Jack has never seen you before. Do you have the scent of pollen?"

What a sensitive nose! I clearly did the necessary preparations, yet he can still smell the pollen!

Upon hearing this, Awakening's heart skipped a beat, but he quickly calmed down.

He glanced at the kitchen layout, placed the silver tray and golden plate on the counter, arranged them correctly in a Western style, then turned around, smiled, and politely replied:

"Respected Old Jack, I am indeed new, responsible for the master's daily life, so you haven't seen me before. I stepped into a flower bed just now because I was unfamiliar with the way."

"Oh, what a beautiful and noble lady, may I know your name?"

Old Jack was immediately captivated by Awakening's female disguise, bowed like a gentleman, and wanted to kiss Awakening's hand.

"My English name is Charlotte Su Victoria, Respected Mr. Jack." Awakening looked at Old Jack's big nose, his lips twitched, and his eyelids fluttered, skillfully dodging Old Jack's kiss, and made up a name on the spot.

"Oh, Miss Charlotte, your name, your elegant posture, are as beautiful as your appearance," Old Jack said with deep emotion, not at all angry.

Awakening's lips twitched slightly, and he felt goosebumps all over his body. He really didn't want to chat with the old gentleman in front of him.

"Mr. Jack, do you know where the master is now? She should be washing up and resting."

"Little Master should be reading in the Western Tower," Old Jack answered without hesitation, then offered help, "Miss Charlotte, since you are not familiar with the environment, Old Jack is willing to serve you."

"Clang"

Awakening's hand trembled, and he knocked over a set of utensils on the counter.

"Oh, sorry, Old Jack, I didn't mean to. You stay and clean up. You can show me around the Western Garden tomorrow. Today, just point out the location for me," Awakening said, covering his mouth, actually feeling goosebumps.

"Is that so, what a pity." Old Jack shook his head, then smiled brightly, "Tomorrow is good, tomorrow is good. The Western Tower is over there."

Old Jack pointed to the clock tower at the end of the Western-style mansion.

"Oh, thank you." Awakening thanked him and quickly left, unable to bear the "enthusiastic" Old Jack.

The night was quiet, and Awakening climbed the Western Tower alone.

"Women are truly terrifying. There were so many flaws just now, but Old Jack was so captivated by beauty that he didn't notice anything," Awakening sighed, really wanting to take off his female disguise but still holding back.

The top floor of the Western Tower was the clock tower, which was actually a library, housing countless books. The bookshelves were several to dozens of feet high, "reaching the clouds"!

"So many books!" Awakening was also startled at first glance. Compared to his own book collection, this library was like a giant compared to a dwarf. Walking in alone felt like entering a jungle of books, where one could easily get lost.

In the vast and towering bookshelves, a short-haired little girl in a cute pink rabbit pajama was curled up on a wooden ladder, reading diligently under the dim yellow light, her jade-like face illuminated in a hazy glow.

"I didn't expect the fierce little girl to have a cute and quiet side," Awakening shook his head and said.

"Who!" Li Wenji suddenly looked up and saw Awakening approaching.

"Who are you?" Li Wenji asked, not recognizing the "maid" in front of her.

"Reporting to the master, I am new," Awakening said in a high-pitched voice, which sounded very pleasant.

"New? I don't remember hiring any new ghost servants," Li Wenji was taken aback, looking at the beautiful "big sister" in front of her with suspicion.

"Are you sure? But the ghost servant who led me said I was coming to the Western Garden," Awakening put on a委屈 (wronged) and puzzled expression, his acting so realistic that Li Wenji felt sorry for him.

"Then you can stay," Li Wenji said, lowering her head to continue reading.

After all, she was just a child. Awakening chuckled inwardly and continued, "Master, I heard that a ghost servant in the Western Garden recently died. Isn't that just a vacancy?"

"Clang"

Li Wenji suddenly closed her book and looked up at Awakening.

"Who said that!"

"I heard it from other places. The news has been spreading. I heard that you, Master, sent out ghost servants to catch a ghost servant named Awakening, but haven't caught him yet," Awakening looked up and continued, his peripheral vision catching sight of Li Wenji's chest, noticing that the wide pink rabbit pajama exposed her jade-like collarbone, with a jade pendant hanging from it.

Almost time to sleep, why are you still wearing that thing!

Awakening's eyelids twitched, feeling annoyed.

"You are not allowed to mention this matter or the name 'Awakening'!" Li Wenji said coldly, her face full of displeasure. She climbed the wooden ladder, returned the book to its place, and said to Awakening, "Since you want to become a ghost servant in the Western Garden, from now on, you will be my personal maid, serving me. I am going to sleep now."

"Yes, Master," Awakening nodded and stood by, hands clasped.

Li Wenji stood on the wooden ladder, arms outstretched, lips pursed, and said nothing.

Awakening's lips twitched slightly, came to the wooden ladder, and wrapped his arms around Li Wenji's raised arms, preparing to lift her, but his movements froze.

"..." Li Wenji lowered her head slightly, looking closely.

"Perhaps I should carry you on my back," Awakening thought, withdrew his arms, bent down, and patted his shoulder, saying, "Come on."

"Were you planning to carry me directly or in a princess carry, and now you're changing to a back carry?" Li Wenji asked lightly.

Awakening's heart skipped a beat, feeling uneasy, but he remained calm on the surface, explaining, "Because it's more comfortable to carry on the back."

"Is that so? I've never thought of that way," Li Wenji tilted her head, thinking, then lifted the hem of her pink rabbit pajama, used her legs to jump onto Awakening's back, and wrapped her slender arms around his neck.

Awakening felt a slight weight on his back, knowing that Li Wenji had jumped up.

"How can you say that, afraid of being stared at from the front and exposing yourself?"

Awakening muttered softly, relieved, and used his large hands to support Li Wenji's small bottom to prevent her from sliding down.

"Master, please loosen your grip on my neck, it's too tight and uncomfortable," Awakening said with a red face, as Li Wenji's small arms were tightly wrapped around his neck.

Unexpectedly, Li Wenji, who was usually cold, was silent after jumping on his back, possibly nervous about being carried by a ghost for the first time.

If not for this, Awakening might have thought he was exposed and Li Wenji was trying to take his life, and he almost instinctively threw the little girl off his back.
