One day, a video was posted on a famous video site.
It was a short video of landscapes: grasslands, forests, deserts, swamps, snowfields, wind-swept valleys, lava areas where no living thing could possibly live, stormy seas, and majestic mountains shining in the sunlight.
If that was the case, it would have been just scenery footage, but each scene showed something strange…..
For example, in the grassland, a rabbit with horns was running around.
Or in the desert, an obviously out-of-scale scorpion was attacking a camel-like creature.
In the ocean, the shadow of something unfathomably huge was moving slowly.
The scene changes to show a girl in a meadow.
She was dressed in leather armor and was carrying a sword on her back.
The girl looked around and then spotted a slime-like creature.
She pulled out her sword heavily, and slashed at the slime.
The girl’s hit sliced through the slime’s body and succeeded in reducing its volume somewhat.
The girl’s attacks continued, dodging the occasional counter attacks from the slime, and she ended up winning.
The slime melted into the ground, leaving only the clear crystal that seemed to be the core of the smile.
The girl nods her head in satisfaction, and reaches for the slime core lying on the ground–
–A huge shadow passed over the girl.
The girl looks up at the sky as if in a panic, and then–
–Metallic scales that glisten in the sunlight.
–A giant…
–Dragon was flying through the sky.
The girl slumped to the ground until the dragon was far away, out of sight.
…Did it ignore the girl?
The girl gripped her single sword in her hand tightly, tightly…
Videos have been posted daily since that day.
It was a story about a girl’s adventure.
Fights.
Changing her equipment to stronger ones.
Improving her fighting skills.
Sometimes going to the mine to gather materials for her armor.
Sometimes cooperating with her friends to defeat strong enemies.
Little by little, the girl grew.
One month has passed since the first post.
The girl finally confronted the dragon in that meadow.
Gleaming claws and fangs.
Scorching breath leaked out from between the fangs.
The girl bravely… challenged the dragon.
After the fierce battle,
The girl,
was engulfed in flames.
–Darkness.
When the girl wakes up, she finds herself on a bed in her house.
A plain wooden bed with white sheets on it.
The girl scampered around and muttered in a small voice,
「Close gate」
–Darkness.
The girl wakes up in a real room, completely different from the previous videos.
A large number of stuffed animals are sitting on the bed, and a study desk and a computer were placed in the corner of the room.
The girl muttered in a small voice.
「Haa, I lost.」
She whispered dejectedly and pulled down the headgear.
「Dinner’s ready!」
「Ye-s!」
『AnotherWorldOnline, is now available for pre-order.』
When I finished preparing to leave, Taku took my bag as a matter of course.
I wasn’t particularly meager, but before I knew it, I started to carry my luggage.
I walked down to the entrance and changed my shoes. I didn’t go any further because I had to wait for the girls to arrive.
The committee members, or rather, Chisato and Yumi, are helping the chairman to carry documents to the staff room.
I asked if I could help too, but she said “I can’t make you do any hard work!”, and I got refused…
In addition, as if to prevent Taku from making a move, she said “Miyashiro-kun, please stay by Suzumori-san’s side”.
In the summer, I wear my hair in a ponytail because I find long hair annoying.
When I was in elementary school, I cut my hair and the girls got very angry with me, so I haven’t cut my hair since then.
While I was leisurely waiting for the two girls, Taku explained the game to me.
According to him, AnotherWorldOnline, or rather “Another” for short, is a game with a lot of freedom, as shown in the video posted.
Just like in traditional games, it has levels, and you can get stronger by raising it.
When you level up, you get skill points, and you use those skill points to acquire skills to fight, but you can still fight without skills.
Also, it seems that you can increase your level by actions other than combat, and skill levels can be raised little by little by taking actions corresponding to those skills.
There are some so-called disadvantages to skills.
For example, the bow skill that requires skill to hit, the summoning skill that causes conflicts with others due to the party system, and alchemy skills are considered unfavorable.
I’m going to try to get the summoning and alchemy skills that allow me to interact with animals.
Fighting sounds interesting, but if I can fight without any skills, I should be fine without them.
