Chapter 5: Four Conditions

As Ye Lengxin went to tidy up Shen Tianyi's room, in the kitchen, Shen Tianyi looked at the pot of blackened potatoes, a bitter smile appearing at the corner of his mouth. He then shook his head and directly poured it into the nearby trash can...

He casually picked up another potato the size of a goose egg, washed it clean, and peeled it. After that, Shen Tianyi listened carefully to the sounds outside. Seeing that Ye Lengxin was not nearby, a relaxed smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.

Shen Tianyi gently tossed the potato up, and then his right hand suddenly shot up rapidly. A silver light flashed at his fingertips, and the potato landed back in Shen Tianyi's palm, still intact!

However, when Shen Tianyi placed the potato in a basin of water, the intact potato suddenly loosened and spread out into thin strips. More surprisingly, these potato strips were all of equal thickness!

"Hehe, even top chefs in high-end hotels might not be able to do this!" Shen Tianyi chuckled, quite pleased with himself. He then washed the blackened pot and started cooking...

When Ye Lengxin finished tidying up Shen Tianyi's room, she saw that four dishes were already arranged on the dining table in the living room.

One was braised chicken, another was tomato and egg stir-fry, a third was seaweed and meat soup, and the last one was green pepper and potato strips!

Seeing her potato slices turned into potato strips, Ye Lengxin blushed and then glared at Shen Tianyi. She sat down and glanced at the four dishes, which looked and smelled delicious, and lightly coughed, saying, "They look pretty good, but I wonder how they taste."

"Ha ha, Teacher, you'll know once you try them. I can't say they're top-notch, but at least they're first-rate," Shen Tianyi said confidently, not being modest.

"Tch!" Ye Lengxin clearly didn't believe him. She thought, as a woman, she couldn't cook well, so how could a guy like Shen Tianyi cook well? However, looking at the dishes and the enticing aroma, she began to doubt her judgment, and her mouth started to water.

"Let's try it then!"

Ye Lengxin grunted and eagerly put a piece of potato strip in her mouth, chewing slowly. As she took the first bite, her beautiful eyes widened!

"Delicious!"

Sure enough, Ye Lengxin's face turned even redder. What does she mean by 'your eating is a compliment to me'? This is clearly saying I eat poorly! Humph!

She glared at Shen Tianyi, then composed herself, resuming her cold demeanor from class: "Shen Tianyi, if you want to stay here, you need to agree to four conditions!"

"Um..."

"Moreover, you must comply, no objections allowed!" Ye Lengxin said coldly, seeing Shen Tianyi's surprised expression.

"Alright, Teacher, go ahead," Shen Tianyi said with a bitter smile. It seems I have no choice but to comply! But actually, I don't really want to stay here. If I disobey, hehe, I wonder if Teacher will kick me out... That would be perfect!

Ye Lengxin, of course, didn't know what Shen Tianyi was thinking. She raised a slender, white finger and said coldly, "First, no fooling around. You must be serious and proper, just like in class, understand?"

"Uh-huh!" Shen Tianyi didn't quite hear what Ye Lengxin said because his eyes were fixed on her extended finger. Ye Lengxin's finger was white, long, and as smooth as jade, very beautiful, and Shen Tianyi couldn't help but be captivated.

"What are you looking at? Did you hear me?" Ye Lengxin glared at Shen Tianyi, who reluctantly responded, noticing that he was staring at her finger.

"Ah, I heard you!" Shen Tianyi awkwardly rubbed his nose, pushed up his glasses, and laughed dryly.

"Humph, you're distracted," Ye Lengxin rolled her eyes at Shen Tianyi, wondering why he wore thick glasses when his vision was better than average. However, she didn't ask, as some people in society wear fake glasses to appear sophisticated...

"The second condition, if anyone in the neighborhood asks about your relationship with me, you must say you're my cousin, not my student, understand?" Ye Lengxin's face turned red as she said this, clearly very concerned about what others might say.

After all, Ye Lengxin was still a single woman, and Shen Tianyi was only a few years younger than her. Even as a student, there was a possibility of gossip...

"Okay, I'm Teacher's cousin!" Shen Tianyi chuckled, agreeing.

"The third condition, you are never to enter my room, no matter what!" Ye Lengxin raised her third finger as Shen Tianyi agreed.

"Alright. Even if there are rats or cockroaches in Teacher's room, I won't go in!" Shen Tianyi chuckled.

"Humph, any rats or cockroaches will run to your room!" Ye Lengxin's face turned pale, and she glared at him, thinking, my room is so clean, and it's on the third floor, how could there be such disgusting things?

"The fourth condition..." Ye Lengxin hesitated, her face turning red again, feeling embarrassed to say it.

"Is the fourth condition that I cook for you from now on?" Shen Tianyi smiled, thinking about how Teacher had greedily eaten earlier. He suspected she might have taken a liking to his cooking and wanted him to be her personal chef, but was too embarrassed to say it.

However, Ye Lengxin glared at Shen Tianyi and said, "Of course, you'll cook from now on, but that's not a condition. As a teacher, I shouldn't let my student waste their talents. I should give them opportunities to use their strengths. Besides, I know you have a strong sense of self-respect and don't want to freeload. So, cooking will be your way of repaying me. You won't feel guilty or uncomfortable anymore, understand?"

Seeing Ye Lengxin's serious expression, Shen Tianyi's lips twitched. She was indeed a teacher, even when she liked his cooking, she had to make it sound like it was all for his benefit...

"Teacher, what is the fourth condition, then?" Shen Tianyi asked.

"The fourth condition..." Ye Lengxin's face turned red again, like a glass of red wine mixed with Sprite, bright and vivid. This time, she bit her tempting red lip and said softly, "The fourth condition is that you pretend to be my boyfriend for a certain period of time, one month from now."
