Chapter Seven: Uncle Yan

Before Shen Tianyi could call out in surprise, the cold, stern voice spoke again, "Come out and see me!"

Immediately, Shen Tianyi saw a figure that had been pressed against the wall, invisible, suddenly dart forward like a soaring eagle, passing by him!

It must be noted, this was the third floor! Even at the window sill, it was still ten meters above the ground, yet that figure descended with such ease!

Shen Tianyi showed no surprise, only a hint of excitement. He pulled open the sliding window, leaped out, and with a single foot on the window sill, spread his arms and dove down like an eagle!

If Ye Lengxin had seen this, she would have been so surprised that her mouth would have dropped open. However, at this moment, Ye Lengxin was already hugging a pink teddy bear, sweetly asleep in her dreams, and did not witness this incredible scene!

In mid-air, Shen Tianyi glided down like an eagle, his figure passing through the blind spots of the light, drawing no attention.

Landing lightly, he followed a swiftly moving black shadow to an empty lawn.

"Master!"

When the two figures landed and stood still on the lawn, Shen Tianyi could not contain his excitement and called out tremulously.

"I've told you many times, don't call me Master, just call me Uncle Yan," the black shadow snorted, his cold, stern voice tinged with a hint of anger.

"Uncle Yan, you teach me martial arts, but why won't you let me call you Master?" Shen Tianyi said bitterly. He had asked this question many times, but each time, Uncle Yan avoided answering, leaving it as a small knot in Shen Tianyi's heart.

As he spoke, Shen Tianyi slowly approached the black shadow. In the dim light, he could make out a middle-aged face, around forty years old. The face, however, was covered with a thick stubble on the chin and above the lips, giving it a haggard and somewhat disheveled appearance.

Uncle Yan had appeared one night when Shen Tianyi was ten years old. Since then, Shen Tianyi had started practicing martial arts and physical training, but he never knew Uncle Yan's true background or full name!

He only knew that when he was ten, Uncle Yan would visit him once a month to supervise his training. However, as the years passed, Uncle Yan's visits became less frequent!

Until now, Uncle Yan had not appeared for a whole year.

His appearance today was truly exciting for Shen Tianyi. In this world, without a doubt, Shen Tianyi considered Uncle Yan his closest person!

However, Uncle Yan was always almost coldly strict with Shen Tianyi. Each time they met, he would only teach him martial arts and never say an extra word or inquire about Shen Tianyi's life!

Despite this, Uncle Yan remained the most important person in Shen Tianyi's heart!

"Because I don't like it, and I don't deserve it."

To Shen Tianyi's surprise, when he approached Uncle Yan, he actually gave an explanation, though it was one Shen Tianyi found hard to accept from the bottom of his heart!

Why didn't Uncle Yan like being called Master? Was it because his martial arts were not good enough? But why did Uncle Yan say he didn't deserve it? You are the most important person in my heart. Even if I called you Father, I would feel incredibly happy and believe you are worthy of it!

Shen Tianyi felt a deep bitterness and was about to ask again, but Uncle Yan waved his hand and said coldly, "You don't need to ask more. Even if you do, I won't tell you anything for now!"

Shen Tianyi bit his lips and fell silent. He understood Uncle Yan's temperament; when he said something, he meant it and never spoke lightly.

"Your internal strength has grown quite a bit this year," Uncle Yan said indifferently. Before Shen Tianyi could savor the praise, Uncle Yan added with a cold tone, "But it's still not enough! Your progress is still too slow!"

"Yes, Uncle Yan, I will work even harder in the future!" Shen Tianyi said firmly. Although Uncle Yan always followed his praise with this criticism, Shen Tianyi always put in even more effort afterward!

His promise was not to placate Uncle Yan but to prove his efforts through rapid progress!

"Hmm!" Uncle Yan's expression seemed to soften slightly, and he said indifferently, "Why did you stay with that woman today? Don't you know she could affect your training and possibly discover your secrets? Do you know her background?"

Uncle Yan asked three questions in quick succession. Although his tone was cold and indifferent, a strong,
