K Qin called Susa and learned that the two were at home, so he got in his car and left.
Before long, he arrived at Susa's farm. From a distance, he could see Angel already pulling Susa, waiting at the gate. The little girl saw Qin's car and immediately became excited, trying to run over. Susa, helpless, had to pick up the little one.
As they got closer, Angel looked at Qin in the car, her face full of excitement. As soon as the car stopped, she couldn't help but wriggle out of her mother's arms, running over and shouting, making Susa shake her head and smile.
"Uncle Qin!" As soon as the car door opened, Angel pounced, hugging Qin's leg with a bright smile, which made Qin feel very comfortable. He picked up the adorable Angel and greeted Susa, then looked at Angel in his arms, unable to resist teasing her, "Angel, have you missed Uncle Qin?"
Angel nodded, "Angel misses Uncle Qin so much, and Mom misses him too, right, Mom?" Angel turned to look at Susa, thinking that with such a good Uncle Qin, Mom must miss him too!
Susa was a bit embarrassed, not knowing how to answer. Whether she said yes or no, it wouldn't be good...
Fortunately, Qin spoke up in time, "Angel, why don't you and Mom come to Uncle Qin's house for dinner today? Uncle Qin will make you some delicious pancakes, okay?"
"Wow, pancakes!" Angel loved pancakes the most. She looked at her mother with big, pleading eyes, "Mom, let's go to Uncle Qin's house for pancakes, okay, okay!"
The little girl leaned out of Qin's arms, reaching out to shake Susa's arm.
Susa had planned to go anyway. Angel was happiest when she was with Qin, and she wanted Angel to always be this happy.
"Alright, but when we get to Uncle Qin's house, Angel has to be good, okay?"
Angel nodded immediately, "Angel is the best!"
Qin and Susa looked at Angel's cute, obedient face and exchanged a smile, both very happy.
They brought Angel's teddy bear and got into Qin's car to leave. On the way, Qin remembered the small farm tourism project, "Susa, I heard that many farms have transformed from traditional farms into tourist farms, which has greatly improved their income. Are you interested in doing that?"
Susa's face turned a bit sour as she looked at Qin, then patted Angel's little head, not planning to hide anything.
"I also want to run a tourist farm. Angel is growing up, and school and other things will cost a lot of money. But as you know, Angel used to be afraid of strangers, so I couldn't hire cowboys. Taking care of Angel and running a tourist project by myself is just too much."
"Mom, smile! Angel likes to see Mom smile!" Angel, seeing her mother unhappy, stopped playing with the teddy bear and patted her mother's face, trying to comfort her!
"Don't worry, sweetie, Mom is already happy." Hearing Angel's worried words, Susa immediately smiled, thinking about how much Angel had changed since meeting Qin, and she felt hopeful about the future.
"Maybe after a while, I can hire a few cowboys to help. Then it should be better."
Seeing her mother happy again, Angel giggled, and the atmosphere in the car became light and pleasant!
"Susa, I want to ask you to be my full-time accountant," Qin said, looking at Susa's incredulous expression, very seriously, "I'm serious! You know, I really need an accountant to manage the ranch, and maybe other accounts in the future. Since I have to hire someone anyway, why not you? This is your specialty, isn't it? And we are friends, I trust you!"
"I... can I do it? Oh, Qin, you scared me. You said this before in the hospital, but I thought you were joking!" Susa fidgeted with her fingers, a bit at a loss.
Although she was a top student in accounting, her previous job was just an assistant accountant. And since having Angel, she hadn't done any work in this field. Of course, her small farm didn't count; after deducting costs and paying off loans, it barely covered their living expenses for the year.
Now, managing the finances of a ranch worth hundreds of millions of dollars was a bit daunting, but of course, she was also excited because she liked financial work, and Qin said he trusted her!
Seeing her nervous and hopeful, fidgeting with her fingers, Qin found it interesting. It was the first time he noticed this cute side of Susa!
"Why not? It's just the income and expenses of the ranch. We're not doing investments or finance. I believe you can handle it!" He paused, then winked at Susa, joking, "If you really can't do it, I can fire you, right, Angel?"
Angel didn't understand what they were saying, but she knew that being fired wasn't a good thing. Hearing Qin say he would fire her mother, she immediately pleaded, "Uncle Qin, don't fire Mom, okay? Mom is very good, just like Angel!"
"Ha ha!" Qin laughed, "Mom is as good as Angel?"
Kids are so interesting!
"Okay, I won't fire Mom. If Angel doesn't want it, no one can fire Mom!"
Susa, caught between laughter and tears, quickly comforted Angel, "Uncle Qin is joking, he's not going to fire Mom. Angel, play with the teddy bear, we'll have pancakes at Uncle Qin's house soon!"
Angel didn't understand these things, but as long as her mother wasn't fired, she was happy. Hearing her mother say they would have pancakes, she smacked her lips and looked at Qin expectantly, hoping the car would go faster.
Qin, seeing Angel's eager eyes, unconsciously sped up. Susa, holding Angel in the passenger seat, noticed these subtle changes, looked at Qin, then at Angel, and couldn't help but smile.
"So, Susa, are you going to do it? To be honest, I really hope you will help me!" Qin spoke very seriously, his expression becoming solemn to show Susa he wasn't joking.
Susa looked at Qin, hesitated for a while, and then nodded lightly, "Okay, Qin, I'm actually very willing!"
The two exchanged a glance and both smiled happily. Angel also giggled, not understanding anything, but knowing that her mother and Uncle Qin were happy, so she was happy too. A girl's heart is so simple!
With the ranch's financial issue resolved, Qin thought about the small farm tourism project. Only by freeing Susa from the farm work could she focus on helping him manage the ranch.
"Susa, there's actually one more thing." Susa's mood seemed to brighten, and Qin glanced at her, "If you don't mind, I can find someone to help you transform your farm into a tourist farm. You don't have to manage the operations; you just need to manage the accounts. Of course, if you don't want to, just consider it as if I didn't say anything!"
Qin spoke cautiously, as this was interfering with her life, and a misstep could affect their friendship!
Hearing this, Susa felt a bit awkward, but not because she thought Qin was overstepping. From his cautious tone and slightly nervous expression, she knew he had no ulterior motives and was genuinely thinking about her, and perhaps more for Angel, as he really liked Angel.
However, Susa knew her situation. In good years, the farm could save some money, but this year's drought had a significant impact on the crops. The income for the first half of the year was more than a third less than in previous years, while costs had increased. This had quickly depleted the savings from the past two years!
Now, let alone transforming the small farm, if the income for the second half of the year was still poor, they would have to apply for a small loan from the bank to maintain the farm's operations!
But how could she tell Qin this? Should she tell him she couldn't afford the transformation and leave a bad impression?
Heaven, how could this be!
But if she really agreed, what would she do?
Without money, she would have to take out a loan, but with the current state of the farm, a loan of over $50,000 wouldn't be approved. Even a loan of $10,000 to $20,000 wouldn't be enough to buy a few horses and cows!
Mortgaging the farm was an option, but it was the only thing her father left her. If the tourism transformation failed, she might lose the farm...
For a moment, Susa was torn, feeling that Qin's suggestion was really putting her in a difficult position!
