Back at the main house, Qin Yi introduced Susa and Angel to Liu Qimeng, then left the two to chat. He found a small bucket and took Angel to the small lake to see if there were any fish in the net.
There should be some small fish. The lake didn't have many large fish, but it definitely had plenty of small ones. The net had been placed in the lake with bait for several days.
Going to the stable to find Little Black, Qin Yi found that Little Black no longer stayed in the stable during the day. Instead, he grazed freely on the grass around the stable or the pasture. Seeing Qin Yi after a few days, Little Black was very happy and ran over from a distance. His strong and elegant posture made Qin Yi very satisfied.
"Wow, a big horse! What a beautiful horse, even prettier than Mom's big black horse!" Angel, who had never seen Little Black at the ranch before, was delighted at the sight of this handsome horse.
Qin Yi held Angel's small hand and introduced her with a smile, "This is Little Black. We'll ride him to catch some small fish later, but first, you need to feed him a big apple and make friends with him."
Little Black ran up and nudged Qin Yi with his head. Qin Yi was also very happy and stroked Little Black's face. He hadn't seen Little Black for a few days and missed him.
"Little Black, this is Angel, our good friend. We'll play together from now on!"
Little Black lowered his head to look at Angel, finding that this little one posed no threat. His eyes lost their wariness.
Qin Yi cut the big apple into slices and handed them to Angel to feed Little Black. After eating one apple, Little Black, feeling that Angel posed no threat and was even feeding him, became even friendlier.
Qin Yi lifted the eager Angel onto Little Black's back, still holding her hand to make sure she was safe. Seeing that Little Black had no reaction, he finally relaxed and rode Little Black, taking the giggling Angel to the small lake.
They arrived at the lake in just a few minutes. Qin Yi brought Angel to the lakeside and took out the net. Sure enough, it was half full of small fish and shrimp, enough for two large bowls. Angel was overjoyed and urged Uncle Yi to hurry back and fry the fish.
Qin Yi, seeing the eager little foodie, smiled and poured the fish and shrimp into a bucket, putting the net back for future use. He then took Angel back to the house, where Susa helped with the preparations. Only Liu Qimeng and Angel, the two big and small foodies, were left to watch and couldn't help.
After checking the fridge, Qin Yi found it full of fresh beef and vegetables. Susi had been taking care of the house and had cleaned it well. Ryan had heard that Qin Yi was coming back yesterday and had prepared all the ingredients for him, which was very thoughtful!
Qin Yi picked up a tomato and ate it. It tasted great, though not as good as the vegetables from the space. It seemed the garden's vegetables had been harvested.
Qin Yi and Susa were busy in the kitchen, while Liu Qimeng played with Angel in the living room. Liu Qimeng really liked this cute little girl, perhaps because of her own simple and sometimes childlike nature, which made her very compatible with Angel.
After some time of recovery, Angel had become much more lively. She could feel that Auntie Liu liked her, which made her very happy. The two of them played in the living room, and Angel's giggles often made Susa smile, finding the current life truly wonderful!
While the dough was resting, Qin Yi started frying the small fish. Susa couldn't help much with Chinese cuisine, so Qin Yi asked her to make a fruit and vegetable salad. Having something to do made her feel more comfortable.
Before the fish was fully cooked, Angel smelled the aroma and stopped playing, running over to Qin Yi, standing on tiptoe, and stretching her neck to look. "Uncle Yi, are the fish ready?"
Angel patted her little tummy, which growled.
The three adults laughed, and Qin Yi patted her cute little face. "Almost done!"
He picked the smallest fish, which cooked faster, let it cool for a few seconds, and fed it to Angel. She closed her eyes in delight and nodded, "Delicious, delicious! Uncle Yi's food is the best!"
"Little flatterer!"
Liu Qimeng stood at the kitchen door, teasing her, which made Angel pout and get angry. "I'm not a flatterer! Uncle Yi's food is really delicious!"
Liu Qimeng didn't believe it, though the smell was good. She thought it was impressive for a billionaire to cook, but for it to be delicious, he would need a passion and a bit of talent.
Billionaires might have the talent to make money, but cooking talent... who could say!
Qin Yi just smiled and ignored her, while Susa found it amusing. The two of them, one a child and the other a big child, were a perfect match!
When the fried fish was ready, Qin Yi brought it to the living room, followed by the eager Angel. Although Liu Qimeng didn't believe it would be that delicious, she was curious. Having a billionaire cook for her was a bit of a thrill.
Of course, just a little. Liu Qimeng pinched her fingernail, deciding it was just that much, no more!
As soon as the fish was on the table, Angel climbed onto a chair, grabbed a pair of chopsticks, and eagerly picked up two fish, stuffing her mouth. She smiled at Qin Yi and offered him one, which he happily accepted, making Angel very satisfied. She then focused on eating the fish, relishing every bite.
Liu Qimeng also sat down and tried a small fish. Her eyes lit up. The fish, about an inch long, had crispy bones and a crunchy, fragrant texture. It was the first time Liu Qimeng had tried fried small fish, and she couldn't help but give Qin Yi a thumbs up!
Qin Yi smiled, watching Angel struggle with the chopsticks. Although her technique wasn't perfect, she managed to pick up the fish easily, a skill she had developed from eating Chinese food with Qin Yi. She loved using chopsticks because she saw Uncle Yi eating this way.
For this, Qin Yi had specially made a pair of small chopsticks for her, which made Angel hug and kiss him happily!
Susa brought out the fruit salad and saw Angel using the chopsticks skillfully, eating non-stop. She found it amusing. "Angel, don't eat too much. We still have to eat the pancakes later!"
Angel nodded like a little chicken pecking at rice, feeding her mother and then continuing to eat. Susa shrugged, finding it amusing, while Qin Yi and Liu Qimeng also found it interesting.
Indeed, having a little one at home made things much livelier!
While the three of them ate the fish and chatted, Qin Yi went back to the kitchen to make the pancakes. Susa couldn't help much, so she didn't go to the kitchen to get in the way. After about ten minutes, the pancakes were ready, and he also cooked a bit of millet porridge to have after the meal.
Qin Yi brought out the pancakes and beef slices. The fried fish was almost gone, most of it having been eaten by Angel and Liu Qimeng. Susa was amused to see Angel rubbing her tummy.
Seeing Qin Yi come out, Angel immediately sat up, ready to roll a pancake as soon as it was on the table. She made one for her mother, who smiled and let her eat it, then one for Uncle Yi, who patted her head and let her eat it. Fine, she would eat it herself, and the little one was very satisfied, munching away happily!
Liu Qimeng had eaten such snacks before but had never made them herself. She followed Angel's example, spreading the pancake, placing the beef slices, rolling it up, and folding one end to prevent the juice from spilling out.
Taking a bite, the pancake was chewy, and the beef was juicy. The combination was deeply satisfying, making Liu Qimeng marvel at Qin Yi's cooking talent!
Seeing the two of them enjoying their food, Qin Yi and Susa exchanged glances, shrugged, and started eating.
By the end of the meal, Angel and Liu Qimeng were both full. They drank a small bowl of millet porridge and lay on the sofa, groaning. Qin Yi and Susa shook their heads, finding it amusing that even Liu Qimeng acted like a child, eating so much that she didn't want to move.
Qin Yi, who was criticizing Liu Qimeng, forgot that he had also been so full after eating his mother's dumplings that he didn't want to move...
After washing the dishes, Qin Yi remembered Lai Pi. He had been back for a while, but hadn't seen Lai Pi come out to play.
Qin Yi went to the apple house and found it empty. He didn't know where Lai Pi had gone. Before he left, he had asked Susi to take care of him, so she might have taken him out to play.
With two full girls at home, there was no entertainment. Taking them for a walk was difficult, but lying around was even worse for their health. Qin Yi decided to take them for a walk, remembering that the vegetables were ripe and needed to be checked.
"Angel, let's go for a walk, or you'll turn into a little fatty, and no one likes little faties!"
"But why would I turn into a little fatty? Uncle Yi, is it because I ate too much?" Angel didn't want to be a little fatty but also wanted to eat delicious food, her face showing her dilemma.
"Eating a bit more is fine, but after eating, you need to go for a walk. This way, you won't turn into a little fatty." Qin Yi explained, not wanting to scare Angel into not eating enough.
Angel didn't understand why walking after eating would prevent her from becoming a little fatty. She turned to Susa, "Is that true, Mom?"
"Yes!" Susa patted Angel's round tummy, feeling satisfied seeing her eat and play happily. "So, we can't lie on the sofa. Let's go for a walk. Come on, Mengmeng."
Liu Qimeng nodded, also planning to go for a walk. She didn't want to be a little fatty, and if it weren't for Qin Yi's delicious cooking, she wouldn't have eaten so much!
Mengmeng was the English name Qin Yi had given her. Although it sounded a bit strange when foreigners said it, it was more comfortable than a foreign name.
Qin Yi led the way with Angel, while Susa and Liu Qimeng chatted behind, discussing the small farm's tourism plans. However, when it came to making a detailed plan, Qin Yi thought it would be best to consult Ryan, who knew more about the situation.
Susi was still at home eating, so the garden was empty. The four of them went in, finding it fresh and interesting, especially Liu Qimeng, who had grown up in the city and had never seen such a natural farm!
The vegetables in the garden were all ripe: white-skinned eggplants, meter-long beans, fist-sized red tomatoes, crisp cabbages, and other common vegetables like water celery, cherry radishes, scallions, cilantro, and green peppers. The cilantro and scallions only needed a small patch, while the others were planted in large areas. The ripe vegetables hadn't been harvested, suggesting that even the entire ranch's cowboys couldn't finish them all, or they would have been picked already!
