Chapter 92

In the morning, the three adults and two children all went out, carrying buckets and folding stools, to milk the cows, with the family’s animals following to watch.

When they arrived at the stable, Rachie was already busy.

Now, in addition to cleaning the stable in the morning, Rachie was also responsible for feeding and taking care of the few dairy cows, which of course included milking them. This was all work that Rachie had taken on herself, and every time Qin Yi saw her, he couldn’t help but marvel: What a down-to-earth and good girl!

After greeting Rachie, everyone followed her to learn how to milk the cows. Except for Susa, who had some experience as a child, the others knew nothing about it. Angel and Becky, the two little girls, knew that milk could be used to make ice cream. They watched the busy adults, squatting on the side in anticipation. Eventually, they gathered around Qin Yi, trying to milk the cows with their small hands, giggling and having a great time.

Occasionally, when no one was paying attention, the two little girls would hold their small buckets and take a sip!

Of course, this didn’t escape the notice of the adults. Each time they saw it, they would laugh and scold them, saying that the freshly milked milk hadn’t been disinfected and could make their stomachs uncomfortable if they drank it.

After playing around for the morning, the fresh milk was disinfected. Qin Yi kept half a bucket, and the rest he gave to Rachie to take to the workers' quarters for the cowboys to drink.

Back at the main house, Susa set aside some of the milk to make yogurt, and the rest she prepared according to Qin Yi’s ideas to make desserts.

Angel and Becky didn’t sit idle either. They pulled Liu Qimeng to make fresh milk ice cream and pudding. Chattering away, they were very eager, as ice cream, pudding, and desserts were their favorites!

However, they were destined to be disappointed, as it was almost noon, and Susa definitely wouldn’t let them eat so many snacks.

Sure enough, after making the desserts, Susa gave each of them only a small piece and put the rest away. She didn’t even let them have a taste of the ice cream, which made the two little girls pout with resentment.

Fortunately, children’s minds are fickle. They were soon distracted by Teddy, the little fat bear, and played with the animals for a while, forgetting about the ice cream and desserts.

And when Qin Yi made beef and potato stew and sweet and sour ribs for lunch, the little girls forgot all about the sweet snacks, eating until their bellies were round and following Qin Yi out for a walk.

However, after a full meal, they wouldn’t think about ice cream and snacks, but once their stomachs were empty, they would remember.

Sure enough, around 4 p.m., Qin Yi was sitting on the porch, basking in the sun and playing on his computer, when Angel and Becky came running over. They stood next to Qin Yi, tugging at his shirt with their chubby little hands, then rubbed their bellies, looking pitiful.

“What’s wrong, girls?”

Qin Yi knew what they were thinking by the way they were touching their little bellies, but he asked just to tease them. Susa, who was reading financial books, and Liu Qimeng, who was also playing on the computer, found it amusing.

“Uncle Yi, our tummies are hungry...” Angel pouted, blinking her big eyes adorably, and Becky nodded vigorously, looking at him expectantly.

These two little girls were smart; they knew Qin Yi was the one in charge, so they didn’t look at Susa and the others but ran straight to Qin Yi, pretending to be pitiful and asking for food.

Qin Yi stopped teasing them, pinched their little cheeks, and got up to go back inside. The two little girls quickly followed. After a while, they came out, smiling, each holding a piece of dessert and a small bowl with half a bowl of ice cream, eating as they walked.

Outside, Angel saw her mother and remembered that she hadn’t had any dessert. She ran up to her, holding out the half-eaten dessert to feed her.

“Mom, the dessert is yummy!”

Becky, seeing that Aunt Susa had a dessert from Angel, and Aunt Liu hadn’t, went to Liu Qimeng and held out her dessert, “Aunt Liu, have some dessert!”

Susa and Liu Qimeng smiled at each other, feeling happy that the little girls thought of them even when they had food.

“The aunts aren’t hungry, you eat it.”

The two little girls, hearing this, happily ran off, sitting on the railing, swinging their legs, and enjoying their desserts. Poor Teddy, sitting on the ground, looked up at them, envious.

Angel and Becky noticed Teddy’s greedy look, made him open his mouth wide, and each scooped a spoonful of ice cream into it. Qin Yi, seeing this, deeply sighed that they had a bunch of foodies at home.

He patted Teddy’s head, took him inside, and gave him a small bowl of ice cream, which he licked clean in a few bites. However, he didn’t feed him anymore, as Teddy was already chubby, and if he got any fatter, he might not be able to move!

He gave him a big apple from the fridge to munch on, which calmed him down.

Back on the porch, Qin Yi continued playing on his computer.

Before long, Angel and Becky finished their ice cream, went back to the kitchen, stood on stools to wash the bowls, and then ran back to Qin Yi.

“Uncle Yi, let’s go play in the pool.” Angel shook his arm, looking at him expectantly.

“Angel, take Becky to the pool, and let your mom go with you.” Qin Yi didn’t want to go; the sun was shining, making him feel lazy. A nap would be nice, and he could wake up just in time for dinner.

During the days Becky was there, Angel always wanted to take her to the pool. Before, she would sometimes drag Susa along, but now with Becky, she was even more excited. As long as they didn’t go out, they would play in the pool every afternoon.

“Uncle Yi, come too, come on, come on!” Angel still liked playing with Qin Yi, even though she had a playmate. In her heart, Qin Yi’s position was irreplaceable.

“Angel, don’t bother Uncle Yi. Come, I’ll take you to change into your swimsuits.” Susa stood up, patted the little girl’s head, and led them inside.

Qin Yi, seeing the slightly disappointed look on the little girl’s face, though he knew she was pretending, couldn’t bear it. “Alright, Uncle will come too!”

“Yay, swimming!” Sure enough, Angel and Becky, hearing this, cheered and ran to the indoor pool, leaving Qin Yi and the others to shake their heads helplessly.

Qin Yi put on his swimming trunks, feeling the cool water, and swam a few laps. The door to the changing room opened, and Angel and Becky, each holding a cartoon inflatable ring, ran out and jumped into the water with a splash!

After they struggled to the surface, they lay on their inflatable rings, splashing water at each other, laughing and playing, making quite a scene.

At this moment, Susa and Liu Qimeng, dressed in their swimsuits, also came out. They put down their shawls, and their beautiful figures were revealed. Susa wore a bikini, and Liu Qimeng, more conservatively, wore a two-piece dress-like swimsuit. One was mature and full-figured, the other pure and lovely, making Qin Yi’s eyes feast.

After swimming for a while, the water fight between Angel and Becky spread to everyone, and for a moment, they were all splashing and laughing, having a great time.

While they were busy, Teddy was quite relaxed, using his front paws to hold onto the inflatable ring and kicking his back legs, circling around the edge of the pool.

In the following days, Qin Yi would ride his horse, milk the cows in the morning, fish in the afternoon, and swim, living a carefree life.

One morning, Qin Yi thought about how he had only been to Los Angeles in the U.S. and hadn’t visited other major cities. He was considering whether to go to New York for a visit when Fang Yue’s call came.

Well, he hadn’t called for the past few days, but now that he wanted to go out, they were coming over. It looks like the big plan to visit New York would have to be postponed.

There was nothing he could do; it was about the brothers’ business and the future of the small farm’s tourism. If it had to be postponed, so be it.

“Old Two, how’s it going? Are you coming over?”

“Yeah, we just got our visas. We’ve decided to take the flight tomorrow. Old Three says he has experience and will take us directly to Augusta, is that the name? You’ll come to pick us up when we arrive.”

Old Two was calm; if it were Ye Fang, he would definitely be shouting about slaughtering cows and sheep, ready to eat when they arrived.

“No problem.”

He hung up after a brief notification. There was nothing else to say; they would be there the day after tomorrow.
