Chapter 2 – The Dynamic Headphone Girl
“Tsujimoto Yutaka” was, the best in terms of human behavior analysis.
By a few words, sight, facial expressions, gestures, leaning against the chair posture, and the way they drink water.
Yutaka, from these subtle movements could read the other’s feelings very well.
From Yutaka’s analysis, the girl had no interest in romance, nor good with people contact and conversation, didn’t refuse when receiving a request, wasn’t self-advocate, not the active type, and kept everything in her heart everytime.
That girl, this should be the kind of “role” for her –
“…This is for you.”
“For me?”
It looked like she was returning Keiji’s bento.
(Did I read it wrong?)
Yutaka exposed a surprised expression, as the girl raised her eye level.
As always, the headphone wasn’t off for that girl.
The lunchbox, and the packaging, were the same as those given to her.
“… because I received.”
“In other words, this is a return gift? But you don’t really have to.”
Although he said so, he still sounded a little happy.
Because the girls should be receiving lunch, since it was the “ideal human youth”.
Everything in the bento was the same as Keiji’s. Even the placement.
And–the taste.
Eating a mouthful of it quickly, Keiji was stunned.
He couldn’t help but issue an “Ha–u” sound.
That sauce was original. Just by eating the sauce once, she made the perfect reproduction of the same thing – Keiji was still feeling shocked and respectful.
“What’s your name?”
Yutaka picked up the duck meat, and asked.
He was checking the girl’s reaction while eating the bento.
“You… first… say your name.”
Unhappy. Although there was no expression, his face clearly engraved unhappy.
“Tsujimoto Yutaka. As in Tsu for short. -And you?”
“田中ノイエ.” (Tanaka, Negami)
The girl, Negami said while looking at Keiji’s face.
“The Kanji for your name?”
“辻本豊” (Tsujimoto, Yutaka)
“There are new participants! Although it’s really cool, why bother borrowing words?”
“I don’t know… I just felt like going back to Tanaka to gather.”
Yutaka puffed his cheeks, stuffing in white rice while talking.
“Ah, that is to say eight to Tanaka home collection.”
Keiji laughed and agreed with Yutaka.
“…It doesn’t matter. Just call me like that.”
“No, I’m kidding, just kidding.”
Worrying that she was in a bad mood, Keiji explained a little timidly–
“The joke↓… haha, so that’s what it meant. Pretty good.”
“…Even though… it feels a little embarrassing after being told that.”
Keiji laughed a little while eating Negami’s bento.
—–At the same time, seeing that look of Keiji, the Dark Knight’s body trembled.
Tightly holding the canned coke purchased as a thanks gift, shaking sounds *Kata Kata* were heard.
(WUT!?WUT THAT LITTLE FRIGGIN GAL! A FRIGGIN GIRL FROM THE SAME YEAR!)
Regret.
The Dark Knight wanted to be like that girl.
She wanted to say “Today I brought my own bento-” and give it to him.
And after preparing, they would laugh together, chat happily, make an appointment to go abroad to travel, and talk about Machu Picchu topics.
However, the Dark Knight doesn’t know how to cook, so she gave up all the plans.
Even if it’s a bit, just this coke I bought.
Troubled on how to hand it to him during the period, she was slowed by a step.
Although the Dark Knight was concerned on thinking, if she wanted to go or dare not go, but things had been unable to sit idly by.
Flustered, Dark Knight ran next to Keiji.
“Kuruma-kun!! This is for you!”
“Keiji gave a light smile, but the Dark Knight felt like it was out of pity.
“…Ah”
After the coke was handled, Negami made a sound.
“What happened?”
Negami held the coke can tightly.
“…(non-detachable end stay-on tab)EOE↓… I want to open it.”
At that time Negami’s facial expression finally moved.
Those were shining, envious eyes.
“What kind of magic spell is it… no… nonde…”
Yutaka was very bad with inseparable words, so he couldn’t repeat it again.
Keiji and Dark Knight was also stunned as they don’t understand what she wanted to say.
So, Keiji passed the coke can to the girl.
Although they didn’t understand what she wanted to do, it felt like it had something to do with the can.
Negami took the coke can, with her finger on the inseparable embedded pull-tab EOE, commonly known as a ‘pull ring’, opened the can with ease.
Fushhhhhhhhhh——————————….sasasasa………
It was a fountain…
A 350ml of coke and bubbles, made the entire place wet.
–All the way to the ceiling.
It could be the Dark Knight’s powers, or it might be because of thermal expansion, however so the velocity was very frightening to human logic.
The four of them could only stare at the coke and bubbles which almost triggered the sprinkler systems.
At that time, a rainbow appearing could be a trick of a premature goblin↓.
“…I’m sorry.”
Dark Knight slightly lowered her head.
She didn’t expect the everything turned into this.
“No, it’s not the Dark Knight’s fault, but if I took the can and noticed it was having a flatulence then none of this would’ve happened.”
Keiji with his sleeve, wiped his face stained with the coke.
“As it is because the momentum is too strong, we can’t let the spray to stop.”
Wiping the table with the cloth he used to wrapped his lunch box–
“…A ‘three closed-loop twisted-pair removable disk player’…”[im not sure how to translate the fancy headphone name]
The wet, sticky headphone.
Maybe due to the reason that the model was also very old, it lost it’s function after the event.
Negami was thrown in despair.
“I’ll repay for it, I’m really sorry.”
Facing the Negami who’s on the verge of crying, Keiji felt ashamed of himself.
“I will pay you back! It’s also my fault!
Dark Knight also bowed in shame.
“No, no, it’s me.”
“No, no, no, no, no, it’s me”
While they were shaking his head, discussing nonstop to say if it was their fault themselves—–
“Oh, by the way, it has nothing to do with me.”
Yutaka had left Keiji and ran away from the responsibilities.
On Saturday, Keiji made use of the school holiday, and was waiting for someone at the train station.
Remembering Negami’s face when the headphone broke.
He just can’t forget that sad expression, so with a lot of persuasions, Negami finally agreed to let Keiji compensate.
With sincerity to his answer, she let him treat her for today.
He was back in front of the ticket gate on the pillars, while patiently waiting for the arrival of Negami.
“…She’s kinda late.”
Keiji can’t help muttering a whisper.
Looking at the time, it was already 11:15. It’s been more than an hour since the appointed time.
“…What?”
He immediately said after the sudden sight–
“…No way.”
Keiji was dumbfounded after seeing someone leaning along the pillars on the other side.
That person was undoubtedly Negami.
She was still wearing her school uniform.
“… uhm Negami… when did you get here?”
“… about 10 o’clock.”
She couldn’t have came here exactly at the agreed time.
“Just call me out.”
“… we didn’t do that kind of agreement.”
‘I should have explained in more detail.’ Keiji regretted it while leaning against the wall.
“Then we might as well go now, since the station ahead have around 5 electronic shops.”
Confirm with his PDA map, they went to the ticket gate.
Although he was checking on it, doing the same thing got boring especially when you repeated it.
*Ga. *Ping ping.
After Keiji has confirmed the map once more, Negami suddenly stuck in the ticket gate.
“What are you doing? Your ticket, where’s your regular train ticket and IC card↓!?”
Panicked, he turned back and walked to her.
“… But you said its on you today?”
“So you didn’t bring your wallet because of that!?”
Keiji bowed to the surrounding crowd, while explaining about the whole story to the staff. In order to cover his embarrassment, once through the gate, Keiji pulled slightly hard on the white hand of Negami, and walked toward the ticket machine.
“I have to give it to you. Even when waiting, you should have said earlier.”
Keiji didn’t expect a reply or grumble, so he glanced at the reaction of Negami. But her eyes were fixed on the ticketing machine.
“What happened?”
It’s as if a teenager was seeing a space shuttle, with eyes filled with the dream.
“… so… so cool.”
“Is this the first time you saw a ticket machine?”
“This kind of thing… its the first for me.”
Keiji felt closer with Negami who nodded her head.
Negami must be some rich man’s daughter huh.
