chapter 2

“So I guess that means this is a different world than the one we were in……”

Mitsumoto is analyzing the situation calmly. The other classmates are already annoyed with the situation “What the hell is that ……?” and “I want to go home now”.

“You want us to do something about it, don’t you?”

“Thank you for being so quick to understand. All we’re asking for is to stop the resurrection of the Demon King.”

I’ve heard the word “demon king” only in games, and I wonder if this is an RPG-like world.

Since there is such a thing as summoning, there is likely to be magic or something.

“It seems to me that you, heroes, were given the Word of God before you were summoned.”

“Indeed, I heard a voice calling itself God.”

“The God who protects this world is Mithras.”

The princess holds up something in her hand. It was a gold coin. It was engraved with the face of a woman-like figure.

The one engraved on the coin must be Lord Mithras.

“’Lord Mithras is the God of allies. For this reason, we value human connection most of all.”

The princess lifted her long hair in a bun. The classmate’s gazes were focused on the beautiful line of the nape of her neck …… not the nape of her neck.

“Every human being in this world has a number engraved around their neck.“

The number ’03’ was engraved in red on her neck.

No, it wasn’t exactly a number, but my gut told me it was a number in this world.

“I’m sure you all have similar patterns around your necks.”

When this was said, my classmates got upset.

I looked at the short-haired guy nearby and saw the number ’00’ engraved on his neck.

“What the hell?”

“When did you get to ……?”

“Oh no, that’s disgusting!”

Each of us is in a hurry to see the unfamiliar patterns engraved on our own bodies.

As for me, there was no one around to look at my neck, so I couldn’t check my own. I was sure it’s there.

“’Princess Elle, this is ……”

“It’s been said that Mithras, the god of allies, visualized his connection to others.”

“What do I do with this?”

“You will have to fight from now on. The demons and demonkind that the Demon King is said to have created are vicious. If the Demon King resurrects, we human beings will have no choice but to die. The only thing left for us to do is to use this divine gift to build up our strength to fight them.”

Template. It’s a common fantasy story. Humans and demons are at war, and a summoned hero is going to save them.

I know it in my head, but I can’t really feel it when I’m involved.

Anyway, the way for humanity to resist the demon race is to increase this number engraved around their necks.

“The number engraved around your neck increases with the contract you make with others. It becomes your strength and theirs as well.”

“It’s called interaction …….”

“Yes, we call this force [Bonds list].”

Bonds, list.

Thanks to Mitsumoto’s continued conversation with the princess, his classmates had calmed down somewhat.

And when they heard the word [Bonds list], a few of them looked convinced.

I can understand that.

Hero, Demon King, summoning, other world, God.

It’s a world with so many game-like elements. It’s not surprising that it has or doesn’t have these elements. It’s just that God prepared them for us.

[Bonds list]

That’s exactly what it is – a common game – a friend feature.
