Food, but the guild also has a place to eat, so we ended up heading to the guild.

“For those of you who don’t know anything, I’m going to teach you a special lesson.”

On the way, Theon, who had been with us for some reason, started talking about the youkai fox race.

“A long time ago.”

“How long ago?”

“I don’t know! A long time ago, one person’s eyes turned blue. He was so powerful that he was able to defeat all kinds of demons. But in return, his character became more and more violent, and he began to attack people. That’s why humanity began to eliminate those with blue eyes, calling them evil eyes. Those who had blue eyes were few in number, so they gathered and colluded with each other. That was the birth of the Evil Eye cult.”

“Sounds very religious.”

“Here’s the thing. The characteristic of the evil eye is blue eyes. There were no people with blue eyes. Only those who were obsessed with evil eyes had blue eyes. However, there was one race of people who were born with blue eyes – the youkai foxes. There is a theory that the evil eye is a new form of demon, and that the foxes are not sub-humans, but rather demons.”

“So that’s what happened.”

Ouka is impressed. The general knowledge must have been memorized, but she didn’t seem to know about this.

“The fox race had powerful magic, and they didn’t get along with humans. The human race decided to destroy the Fox tribe because they were the source of the evil eyes.”

“So there are no more youkai foxes left?”

“No, I doubt it’s true that they were destroyed in the first place. It’s just that they don’t like humans too much, so they might be living quietly somewhere.”

“Oh, so you’re looking for Ouka’s people, then.”

“Companions! My only companion is my master!”

“Yes, yes.”

Theon lets out a light sigh.

Even if what she just said isn’t totally true, a part it’s probably true based on the way Ouka was sold.

Then there’s still something to be said for the youkai foxes.

I’ll have to look into it some more……

And while I was thinking about it, I arrived at the desired building.

“It’s huge.”

“Only the Guild is this big.”

Ouka raises her head.

It is the Guild Solly branch. It’s a place where adventurers from the southern city meet; it’s twice the size of the surrounding buildings and a gorgeous three-story brick structure, I wonder how much money the guild has.

As I walked in, the voices of the bustling crowd came crashing into my ears.

And a smell that tickled my nostrils filled the air.

“Wow! It’s amazing! It’s full of people!”

“You’re still annoying…”

Ouka bounced around.

Theon looked disgusted, “Ugh,” she said.

The ground floor has many tables and chairs, and this is the dining room.

Even though it was past noon, there were already dozens of adventurers clamouring with wooden cups in hand.

“I’d like to start off by saying rice ……but I’m going to register Ouka with the guild first.”

“Huh? Why?”

Ouka’s drooling face turned blue. I could tell she was hungry.

The three of us stand in line to the receptionist.

“There is a slave canteen in town. Slaves are supposed to eat there.”

“That’s right……”

“But if you join the Guild, you won’t have that problem anymore.”

“Ouka-chan, what do you think the Guild’s ironclad rule is?”

“Um……good food?”

I could see that Ouka’s head was full of food.

Theon, who asked the question, was smiling bitterly.

“The Guild is a meritocracy.”

“Ability ……?”

“Yeah, whatever works for you. An adventurer’s strength is determined by his rank.”

“So it doesn’t matter what your status is, as long as you join the Guild.”

“So, if you join the guild, you can have dinner with your master here!”

Ouka’s stomach squeezes. I knew she was at her limit.
