“Wow!”
Ms Mativa puts her hands over her mouth in surprise.
She’s honestly surprised and complimented me.
Thanks to that, the other adventurers’ eyes were drawn to us, but I didn’t care.
“And then there’s this.”
The last thing I took out was an oversized magical stone.
Theon was the one who was surprised at its size.
“’This is ……the Queen’s magic stone! Queen Slime’s magic stones are famously hard to come by.”
“Thank you for the explanation, Theon.”
She puts her hand on Ouka’s head.
“”I’ve shown you what she”s capable of, and I’ve given her the experience. It shouldn’t be too much of a problem to start from grade E, should it?”
“Hmm.”
“It’s okay?”
A man appeared behind the distressed Mativa.
He has all-back red hair and red eyes. Although lightly equipped and slender looking, his eyes are intimidating.
“Gii-chan.”
“Call me, Guildmaster.”
Gilmour. I’ve never met him.
His red eyes move as he surveys us.
“You want to meet the requirements and take the promotion test? Then let him take it. If you don’t know what you’re capable of, you’ll die.”
“I don’t mind.”
The Guildmaster and I lifted the corners of our mouths to each other.
“Okay, Ouka-chan, I’ll register you with an E grade.”
“Food!”
It took quite a while. I’ll let you eat as much as you want.
One empty plate is stacked on top of another.
Ouka had eaten quite a bit of food, despite her appearance.
Perhaps it was because of that appetite and the matter of the magic stone earlier, but there was a crowd of onlookers around our table.
I was hungry myself, but most of the food piled up on the table was Ouka’s.
What I’m eating is a daily set meal.
Today’s menu consisted of fried phoenix, fairy wing salad and orc snot soup.
The only funny thing is the name; the contents are made with very ordinary ingredients. Who’s coming up with the menu for this restaurant…..
“Oh, you little punk.”
As I was devouring the fried food, an uncle came up to me with a wooden cup in his hand.
His feet are wobbly, and his mouth smells of alcohol. He is an adventurer who is always here drinking.
“What is this? The little guy unusually has a girl at his side.”
“It’s depressing. It’s too early to be drunk.”
I grab his head to stop him as he pulls his growing beard over to me.
The adventurers who were watching the scene began to agitate, “Good, good!” in a mischievous voice.
“Don’t be so sad. Hey, the number of nerds are increasing. You’re no longer a loner. You turned me down when I asked you to join me. You don’t mind if it’s a girl, do you?”
This uncle is always tangling with someone. It’s a familiar sight here.
This conversation is like a promise, too.
So I didn’t care about any of this myself.
But—
“Please leave.”
Suddenly, two fingertips are in front of the uncle’s eyes – a few inches from his eyes.
Ouka, who should have been eating her meal, was there before I knew it.
“The master does not like it. If you get any more involved, I will attack you.”
A cold, low-voiced warning.
The air in the place freezes.
I didn’t expect Ouka to act.
Is this also because of the slave contract?
“Burp.”
“It’s not even close…..”
When the threat came out of Ouka’s mouth, the uncle sobered up, said “My bad, my bad,” and slipped away.
Well, yeah, I’m sorry, uncle.
