chapter 49

The draugr or draug is an undead creature from Norse mythology.

“Noooooo!”

Nana’s screams.

I could see Sen’s head fall to the ground, even as her voice drowned out the other sounds.

Skullhead seemed to see this as well and approached his head with a happy look.

Skullhead grabbed Sen by the neck and gouged out his eyeballs first.

Then pull up the hair and peel the skin off.

“G–!”

Meanwhile, Sen’s headless body was still next to it.

It didn’t fall over, and from its neck – red foam was blowing out of it.

Nana, who was watching, crunched her mouth, but she didn’t make a sound.

The bubbles gradually took shape.

It became as big as Sen’s body and turned from red to black.

Eventually, two holes open up, and what looks like a gleaming white eye pops out–

–a baby-like face was born.

“Λrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.”

The black face makes a wailing sound as it opens its mouth, and there were dozens of fangs growing in it.

What …… is that?

“Master!”

“What the–?”

Ouka’s voice rang in my ears.

I saw her breathing hard and realized that she had called out to me many times.

“Ouka……”

“Master, we have to help them now!”

Ouka’s mouth is trembling. Out of the corner of her eye, a mysterious creature emerges from Sen’s body and Nana stares at it, unmoving.

I’m–I’m–I’m just a little stunned, aren’t I?

Don’t let your fear consume you. We are in the middle of a battle.

Our lives are on the line.

Be calm, take in the battle situation. Figure out what’s going on and what you need to do.

Skullhead has finished scraping off the flesh and begins to sip at the inside of the skull, smashing the top of the skull with a stone.

The two-headed creature next to me – stares at Nana and shows no signs of moving.

Undead…….

I am reminded of Mativa’s words.

“They say he has a sword that can control the dead.”

A self-proclaimed necromancer.

So the long sword Skullhead held was Neikra’s weapon, and those who were cut off would become undead, or so it seemed.

The weapon is still stuck in the tree and away from the goblin’s hand.

What’s the reason why the undead aren’t moving? Is it because Skullhead isn’t telling them what to do? Or is it because there is no one holding the sword?

Either way, my priority is to retrieve the sword.

If it’s used again by Skullhead – I can’t think of a way to deal with his speed.

What I should do.

It’s not about regret; it’s not about helping.

First, I’m going to use the situation to my advantage.

I put my hand on the numbers around my neck.

“The bond is broken.”

“Master?”

A red lightning bolt runs down her neck.

“Ouka……run away and stay alive.”
