"What sound is that, Ki Tanu?" Asked
Untara weakly.
Ki Tanu Metir did not immediately answer. He tried to catch every shout and loud curse that broke the trangquil of the night.
Suddenly there was a voice, "Oi, where is that elder house?"
There was no answer, but someone
moainng in pain slowly. A moment later
there was a another shout,
"If you don't want to say, then you will be killed by us."
"Forgive, me " said another voice, "I only heard
the sound of horses galloping."
"Are you crazy, I didn't ask you, if you heard the
sound of the horse. Show me Tanu
Metir house. If that person will spill everything ,then you will be free "shouted the
others.
Again there was no answer, and once again came a loud curse
and a few punches.
Ki Tanu Metir frowned. He hissed, "That person doesn't want to show this
house."
"Pity," Untara growled. His teeth rattled,
holding back anger. But his body condition
was too bad. "Ki Tanu," he said later,
"let them find me. Then the life of that person and maybe Ki Tanu's life
can be saved. "
"What is the meaning of our lives" answered Ki Tanu Metir,
"Angger is a very importan person, while we are only common people."
Untara was moved to hear that answer. It turns out that the spirit of heroism
not only blazed in every soldiers who with weapons in their hands risked
their lives for their service to the land of birth and the righteousness
they believed in, but even in the life of that
old man it turned out a spirit heroic
fire that was no less powerful, with the courage of a soldier..
Untara shook his head weakly, "No," he said, "naturally a
soldier dies because of a weapon, but I should not have shielded someone else
for my safety. Therefore let them find me here. While there was time, let Ki
Tanu Metir save himself. "
"This is my home" answered Ki Tanu Metir. "If I run
now, then to this house too, I will return and those people will be able to find me here.
It's no use. "
Again Untara took a breath. Before he could answer, said Ki Tanu Metir,
"Angger, why aren't we trying to save ourselves both? I will hide Angger.
In case the crazy people come here, and don't find Angger, then I will be saved
too. "
"Hem" Untara frowned. He had never thought of hiding himself when
his enemy came. But this time the situation was very bad. Even his body becomes
increasingly weaker.
"Let me hide Angger first,
in the left chamber. I
will pill up Angger
with rice grains. "
Ki Tanu Metir did not wait for Untara to answer. Immediately he tried to help
him stand up. Untara was afraid that the two of them would collapse, but it
seemed that the elder was still strong enough to carry him.
At the left chamber, Ki Tanu Metir immediately unload stack
rice grains. Slowly he helped Untara enter
into a large basket. "Curled up in ,there and try to be
able to breathe" said Ki Tanu Metir.
Untara frowned, but he hoped that by doing so, he and Ki Tanu
Metir at the same time could be saved. Tomorrow
if the wound on his shoulder had healed, he would come
back to meet Alap-Alap Jalatunda.
In a hurry Ki Tanu immediately stack
up Untara with the grains of rice . Carefully
bundle by bundle. In the big basket, Untara closed her eyes. Feels breath
becomes more congested. But he can still breathe.
Thus Ki Tanu finished with his work, he heard the door of his house knocked
loudly, and there was a rough voice calling to him, "old man,
open your door!"
