"Your Majesty, are you alright?"

Before Huang Shang could fully digest the news, Liu Xin, who had already run a few steps away, quickly caught up and supported the somewhat dazed Huang Shang, asking anxiously, "Did it bite you?"

"No..."

Huang Shang glanced at the zombie, whose head was shattered and still oozing brain matter and blood, and shook his head.

"It's good that it didn't. Let's go, those zombies are coming over."

Relieved that Huang Shang wasn't bitten, Liu Xin prepared to pull him and run outside.

It was only then that Huang Shang realized that the zombies, which had risen from the victims of the car accident, had not continued to tear apart the paramedics they had just killed. Instead, they staggered and gradually approached them.

"Even with food right in front of them, they choose to continue hunting..."

Seeing this, Huang Shang's heart sank: "Are these things like piranhas, never stopping until their prey is completely destroyed?"

He had initially planned to take them down one by one while they were feasting on the bodies, but now it seemed he had underestimated them.

"My dear brother, what are you still standing there for? Run!"

Seeing that Huang Shang wasn't running and was still observing the approaching zombies, Liu Xin became anxious.

"Go, I'll stay."

Recalling the system's words, Huang Shang shook his head and then squatted down to pick up a crowbar that was originally used to pry open the accident vehicle's door.

The crowbar was about one and a half meters long, with a double-headed end and a sharp single-headed end. It was heavy, weighing at least a dozen kilograms, and should be effective against these zombies whose only weak point was their heads.

"Huang Shang, are you crazy?"

Seeing that Huang Shang wasn't leaving, Liu Xin became frantic: "This isn't the time to be a hero. Don't think that just because you took down one crippled zombie, you can take down all of them here. You're asking for death!"

"I don't want to die, which is why I'm staying!"

Huang Shang shook his head and looked at the zombies, who were staggering and pushing aside obstacles as they approached. He took a deep breath and said firmly, "Go, this is my fight!"

Since the system said this was just the beginning of the apocalypse, there would likely be more zombies appearing in other places. So instead of fleeing, he might as well take a stand while the number of zombies was still manageable.

"Huang Shang, you bastard!"

Hearing Huang Shang's words, Liu Xin suddenly shouted in anger, then picked up a crowbar and said through gritted teeth, "I must be crazy, staying here to die with you, a fool. If I die, it's all your fault!"

"This isn't your fight, go!"

Seeing that Liu Xin, though terrified, was still staying to fight alongside him, a warm feeling surged in Huang Shang's heart, but he still scolded, "With your skills, you'll just get in my way!"

"I'm your assistant, of course I'll stay. Stop arguing!"

Liu Xin, being stubborn, also shouted back, then gripped the crowbar tightly and called out nervously, "Remember to aim for the head, and don't get too close. In the movies, these things aren't very fast. We should be able to handle them if we're careful... damn!"

Before Liu Xin could finish his sentence, the zombie at the front, which had been staggering, suddenly lunged forward like a crocodile sensing blood, moving several times faster than before and pouncing on Huang Shang, who was slightly ahead.

This speed was far beyond that of the ordinary zombies in the movies!

To hell with the movies!

"Die!"

Fortunately, the zombie's speed, though fast, wasn't so fast that it couldn't be reacted to. As the zombie lunged, Huang Shang, who was already prepared, roared and swung the crowbar with both hands, smashing it toward the zombie's head.

However, perhaps because the zombie lunged too quickly, or because Huang Shang was not yet familiar with using the crowbar, the crowbar missed the zombie's head and struck its left shoulder instead!

Thud!

In an instant, with a dull thud, the crowbar, swung with all of Huang Shang's strength, tore through the flesh on the zombie's left shoulder and continued toward its head.

Unfortunately, the crowbar's trajectory was slightly deflected by the shoulder, and the zombie was knocked back, so the crowbar only grazed the zombie's face, tearing away a large chunk of flesh and an eye.

Such injuries would be fatal to anyone, but for a zombie whose only weak point was its head, it wasn't much. The next moment, the zombie, with half its face gone, regained its balance and opened its exposed mouth, pouncing on Huang Shang again.

But Huang Shang, who had overcome his initial fear and was prepared, wasn't about to let the zombie get close so easily.

As the zombie pounced again, Huang Shang swung the crowbar once more. This time, he didn't miss, striking the zombie's head with full force!

Thud—Crack!

Huang Shang, being a forensic doctor, knew that the skull was one of the hardest bones in the human body, so he aimed for the temple instead of the top of the head.

In an instant, with a dull thud and a crack, the sharp double-headed end of the crowbar, swung with all of Huang Shang's strength, pierced deeply into the zombie's temple. He then yanked it upward, tearing off the zombie's skull and crushing its brain matter, which splattered like tofu pudding mixed with blood.

With its head shattered, the zombie collapsed to the ground like a broken doll!

At the same time, a blue light shot out from the zombie's remains and merged into Huang Shang's body!

Snap!

In an instant, Huang Shang felt a gentle, refreshing force coursing through his body, gradually integrating into his flesh, meridians, and bones.

This sensation was very profound and comfortable, like a clear spring washing over his body, making him feel increasingly transparent, pure, and powerful.

At the same time, the muscles in Huang Shang's body seemed to become more defined.

As the system had said, killing these zombies indeed accelerated the cultivation of Huang Shang's "Gu Yi Forging Body Technique," and the effect was excellent!

However, now wasn't the time to think about that, because as soon as the first zombie was killed, the second and third zombies were already charging over, pouncing on Huang Shang from both sides like hungry wolves!

"Damn!"

Seeing the two zombies approaching from both sides, Huang Shang's heart tightened.

Although his strength had increased after killing the first zombie, dealing with two zombies at once was still extremely dangerous!

Even with the protection of the "Gu Yi Forging Body Technique," which made him somewhat resistant to the zombie virus, he was still made of flesh and blood. If a zombie bit him in a vital spot, he would die!

"Get out of my way!"

Fortunately, Huang Shang wasn't fighting alone!

As the two zombies charged, a figure rushed past Huang Shang and swung a crowbar, striking one of the zombies.

Liu Xin had joined the fight!

However, unlike the strong and robust Huang Shang, Liu Xin was slender and lacked the strength to match him. His blow only knocked the zombie back, but didn't cause significant damage, and the zombie quickly pounced again, engaging Liu Xin in a struggle.

In the distance, more zombies were rushing over, and even the people who had been bitten earlier were beginning to convulse, showing signs of turning into zombies!

These zombies indeed had the ability to infect!

"We need to end this quickly!"

Seeing this, Huang Shang's eyes narrowed, and he clenched his teeth, swinging the steel crowbar with all his might at the zombie in front of him.

However, whether it was due to the zombie's residual defensive instinct or mere coincidence, the zombie that pounced on Huang Shang suddenly raised its arms to block the crowbar!

But Huang Shang had no time to change his move and could only grit his teeth and continue swinging the crowbar!

Thud—Crack!

The next moment, the crowbar struck the zombie's arms.

To Huang Shang's surprise, the blow not only shattered the zombie's arms but also continued, striking its body.

Although the arms provided some resistance, the blow didn't crush the zombie's head, but it did cause blood and flesh to fly from its face, and the zombie staggered back!

"My strength has increased so much!"

At this moment, Huang Shang clearly felt how much his strength had improved. Feeling a mix of surprise and excitement, he didn't hesitate, turning the crowbar and thrusting the sharp end toward the zombie's bloodied face!

The zombie, still off-balance and unable to dodge, was directly impaled by the sharp end of the crowbar.

With a dull tearing sound, the sharp end of the crowbar pierced through the zombie's head, and the zombie trembled and stopped moving, with blood and brain matter oozing from its mouth and the back of its head, dripping to the ground.

As this zombie was killed, another blue light merged into Huang Shang's body, and the sensation of the spiritual energy entering his body, cleansing his meridians and flesh, and enhancing his body, returned, though not as intensely as the first time.

But even so, Huang Shang felt a significant increase in strength. He then swung the crowbar, lifting the zombie's body like a burlap sack and smashing it into the zombie that had pinned Liu Xin, who was holding it off with his crowbar but hadn't been bitten yet.

Thud!

With a dull thud, the zombie was knocked away by the impact of the zombie's body. Before it could get up, Huang Shang caught up and struck it on the head with the crowbar.

After the second enhancement, Huang Shang's strength had become even more formidable. With a single blow, the zombie's head exploded like a watermelon hit by a sledgehammer, with brain matter, blood, and eye contents splattering everywhere, even onto Huang Shang's body.

At this moment, Huang Shang had become a killing god, invincible!
