After passing through the two Essence Crystals just now, Jiang Feng's body had already been strengthened to three times that of an ordinary person. If he were to consume the Black Iron Rank 1 Essence Crystal, his body would reach its limit. However, this limit might not necessarily allow him to strengthen to the Black Iron Rank 0 level.

Reaching five times the strength of an ordinary person does not mean that consuming any Essence Crystal would allow him to break through to six times the strength and reach the Black Iron Rank 0 level. It's possible that even consuming twenty Black Iron Rank 0 Essence Crystals might not be enough to strengthen him to the Black Iron Rank 0 level. He might never reach the Black Iron Rank 0 level.

After much consideration, Jiang Feng felt that after strengthening his body to five times the strength and having more Black Iron Rank 0 Essence Crystals in hand, using the Black Iron Rank 1 Essence Crystal would ensure a 100% success rate.

He asked Zhang Haitao if any of his companions had survived. Upon learning that no one had, Jiang Feng explained the current situation to Zhang Haitao, mainly about the need to obtain Essence Crystals as soon as possible to strengthen their bodies. Finally, he asked Zhang Haitao if he was willing to go with him to kill the lizardmen.

Zhang Haitao agreed without much hesitation. Jiang Feng also felt that this person indeed had great courage. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to kill a lizardman even while severely injured.

Jiang Feng pulled out the large, meat-cleaving knife belonging to the elite lizardman that was embedded in the wall and gave it to Zhang Haitao. He still held the two ice picks. After observing at the door for a while, the two of them opened the door and went out.

The fourth floor was now free of lizardmen. Apart from Jiang Feng and Zhang Haitao, no one else was alive. After listening for a while in the hallway, Jiang Feng and Zhang Haitao started to head downstairs.

They didn't find any living people or lizardmen on the third floor. When they approached the stairs to the second floor, they heard the sound of bones being crushed coming from the second-floor hallway.

Jiang Feng took a quick look into the second-floor hallway and saw two lizardmen squatting on the ground, gnawing on a corpse. Jiang Feng and Zhang Haitao retreated a bit on the stairs. After giving Zhang Haitao a nod, Jiang Feng lightly tapped the stair railing with his ice pick.

Hearing the sound, the lizardmen in the second-floor hallway immediately stopped and ran towards the stairs. The two lizardmen saw Jiang Feng and Zhang Haitao and charged at them.

As the lizardmen stepped onto the stairs, Jiang Feng's ice pick came down. Zhang Haitao's knife also swung down.

The two lizardmen fell almost simultaneously. Jiang Feng's ice pick pierced one of their heads, and the other lizardman's head was split open by Zhang Haitao's knife.

Just as he gave Zhang Haitao an approving look, two more lizardmen rushed out from the second-floor hallway. Jiang Feng and Zhang Haitao quickly retreated a few steps. As the lizardmen stepped onto the stairs and charged, they attacked again.

With their height advantage and weapons in hand, hitting the lizardmen was enough to kill them. The lizardmen didn't dodge much, and Jiang Feng and Zhang Haitao easily killed the two lizardmen again.

Before the two lizardmen had fully fallen, three more lizardmen rushed out from the second floor. There was also movement from the first floor, indicating that lizardmen were also rushing up.

Jiang Feng and Zhang Haitao stood side by side and moved up two steps. The three lizardmen from the second floor quickly rushed up the stairs. They swung their weapons just like before.

This time, Jiang Feng hit his target, but Zhang Haitao missed. Another lizardman in the back jumped up and pounced on Zhang Haitao.

As Zhang Haitao kicked the lizardman in front of him and swung his knife at its neck, Jiang Feng swung his ice pick at the jumping lizardman.

The blow hit the lizardman's head squarely. As the ice pick pierced through, Jiang Feng's strength also pushed the lizardman's body into the wall.

After the lizardman crashed heavily into the wall, Jiang Feng dragged its body and threw it at the last lizardman. At that moment, the lizardman had just hit Zhang Haitao's leg and was about to pounce again when it was hit by the body Jiang Feng had thrown.

Jiang Feng quickly pulled out his ice pick and, before the lizardman could stand up, pierced its head. At this time, Zhang Haitao, with several claw marks on his leg, was retreating upstairs.

When they looked towards the stairs leading to the first floor, lizardmen were rushing up, and there were quite a few of them. Jiang Feng didn't dare to be careless. He told Zhang Haitao to retreat while he also moved back.

The lizardmen rushed up, and Jiang Feng, from his higher position, swung his ice pick. He hit the lizardman's head quickly and accurately. Before he could pull out his right ice pick, his left ice pick had already hit another lizardman's head. At this moment, a third lizardman rushed up.

Zhang Haitao, who was already on another section of the stairs, saw more lizardmen rushing up, while Jiang Feng was taking down each one that rushed up. By this time, six lizardmen from the first floor had already been killed, and Jiang Feng had retreated to the top of this section of the stairs. Heavy footsteps could be heard from the first floor, making Jiang Feng uneasy.

"Could there be another elite lizardman?" Jiang Feng muttered when another lizardman appeared.

This lizardman was much taller and more muscular than the previous ones, and he held a knife similar to the one Zhang Haitao had. It was clear that this was another elite lizardman.

"Quick, retreat." Jiang Feng kicked a lizardman's body to block the elite lizardman while shouting to Zhang Haitao.

The elite lizardman swatted away the body and continued to charge up. As he approached, Jiang Feng decisively swung his ice pick at the elite lizardman's head. The elite lizardman's head turned, and Jiang Feng missed, hitting his shoulder instead. The elite lizardman swung his knife at Jiang Feng, who quickly kicked out.

The kick landed solidly on the elite lizardman's body, but it didn't knock him down the stairs. Instead, it almost cost Jiang Feng his foot. He had to quickly retreat up the stairs, continuously striking the elite lizardman with his ice pick.

The elite lizardman dodged left and right, preventing Jiang Feng from hitting his head. He could only leave a few cuts on his face. Now, Jiang Feng was about to retreat to the third floor. Once he lost his height advantage, he would be in danger.

"Jiang Feng, move aside." Zhang Haitao's shout came from behind.

Jiang Feng quickly moved to the side, and he saw a lizardman's body crash into the elite lizardman. The elite lizardman, hit by the sudden body, leaned towards the right wall. At this moment, Zhang Haitao suddenly rushed out, holding a door panel from somewhere, and charged at the elite lizardman.

The end of the door panel hit the elite lizardman's neck. As the lizardman's body leaned back, Jiang Feng quickly rushed up to help Zhang Haitao push the elite lizardman with the door panel. With both of them pushing, the elite lizardman lost his balance and fell down the stairs.

As the elite lizardman rolled down the stairs, Zhang Haitao directly threw the door panel down. When the elite lizardman rolled to the corner of the stairs, the door panel, coming down vertically, aimed for his head. At this moment, Jiang Feng also jumped down the stairs.

A palm swept the door panel aside, and it flew to the side. Jiang Feng landed at this moment, and his right ice pick swung down, striking the elite lizardman hard.

With a "pu" sound, the elite lizardman's head was pierced by the ice pick. The knife that was about to strike Jiang Feng never had the chance to touch him.
