"Damn Dimit, he's really the worst!!"

As soon as my sister Nene entered my house, she grumbled.

"Is that so?"

I smiled wryly. Since Dimit, the adopted son, moved in to replace me, I haven't fully grasped how terrible he is, but if Nene is this upset, he must be pretty bad. Then, I was subjected to listening to Nene's endless complaints. After hearing her out, it seems that this new family member, Dimit, has a rather selfish personality. Because he used to be a commoner, he seems to be very afraid of being looked down upon, so he only forces the servants to do things.

"He's really making the servants work hard. He uses them as targets for his magic practice, makes them go shopping in the middle of the night when he wants something, and he's a picky eater, always complaining about the food. On top of that, he even harasses the cute servants."

"That's terrible."

"Moreover, I can't believe Father allows it. As a result, the servants come to me for advice. But there's nothing I can do about it!"

Listening to my sister, I start to think that being kicked out might have been for the best. Thanks to Orobos, who helps with all the housework, I'm not particularly inconvenienced by living alone.

"Brother, you have to do something about it..."

"There's nothing I can do, being kicked out myself. Besides, isn't it true that Dimit's magic is really powerful?"

"Well, it seems so. He apparently has a unique magic too."

Unique magic is an original magic that only the caster can use. If someone has unique magic, they are generally considered a full-fledged magician. If Dimit, who is the same age as me, already has unique magic, he must be quite talented.

"Still, this house, though it looks shabby from the outside, is really clean inside. This bed is so soft. I thought your room would be messy, but it's not."

"Well, I have a cleaning expert friend who helps me."

"Hmm, really?"

Nene nodded, and Orobos, feeling praised, proudly raised his nose. Of course, Nene can't see the demon, so only I know this.

"By the way, Nene, I have a favor to ask."

"Hmm, what is it?"

"I want you to teach me spirit summoning."

"Spirit summoning?"

Nene looked puzzled.

"Why does a brother who can't use magic want to learn spirit summoning? Are you trying to do anything you can because the duel is coming up? I think it's in three days, right?"

"You knew about the duel?"

"Well, Legal was boasting about it so much at school."

So, Legal has been telling everyone about the duel with me. He must really want to embarrass me in front of a lot of people.

"Yeah, I really want to learn spirit summoning."

"What are you going to do with it? Even if you learn spirit summoning, it won't be very useful in a duel."

"Um, I really need to use it..."

I can't tell her about demon summoning. How should I explain it?

"Well, people who are bad at natural magic sometimes have a talent for spirit summoning. I don't mind teaching you. Besides, if you can use magic, you might be able to kick Dimit out of the house. Okay, I'll help you."

Saying that, Nene puffed out her chest. Then, she said she needed to go back home to get the items required for spirit summoning. Incidentally, this house is quite close to the original mansion, so it's not too much trouble to go back and forth.

"Master Norman, who is this Dimit?"

As soon as Nene left, Clozel immediately asked. Orobos also seemed curious, stretching his neck. I realized I hadn't told them my situation. There's no point in hiding it, so I decided to tell them. So, I explained to them that I was kicked out of the house because I couldn't use magic, and Dimit, the adopted son, became the heir.

"Such a thing!? Kicking out Master Norman is really too much!"

"Master!!! I didn't know you were in such a difficult situation, how foolish I am!!!"

After hearing the story, both of them sympathized with me. Orobos's reaction seems a bit excessive, though.

"Master, if you give the order, I can prepare to attack that house immediately!"

"No, Orobos! I won't let you do that, and I won't do it!"

What is this demon saying about attacking suddenly? Anyway, thanks to their anger, I didn't become too emotional about being kicked out.
