"Hey, big brother! How long do you plan to keep sleeping!"
While I was engrossed in a conversation with the demon Fullcas, my sister suddenly entered the room.
Next to her, a servant stood looking troubled.
The servant must have been calling out to me from outside the door to wake me up.
But since I didn’t come out of the room for so long, the servant, being in a position where they couldn’t enter the room without permission, couldn’t do anything.
So, the irritated Nene must have opened the door dramatically.
When Nene opened the door, I immediately thought, "Oh no."
Fullcas is in the room right now.
If she sees, it might reveal that I summoned a demon.
Even if she doesn’t realize Fullcas is a demon, there’s an unknown old man in my room.
There’s no way she won’t question the situation.
"Hey, you’re already awake! If you were, you should have responded when I called from outside the room!"
"Sorry, I didn’t notice."
"Didn’t notice? What do you mean? I was calling out pretty loudly!"
I see.
I was so engrossed in talking about demon summoning with Fullcas that I didn’t notice at all.
But more importantly, my sister isn’t mentioning Fullcas at all.
Even though Fullcas and the horse are so noticeable in the middle of the room.
"Hey, aren’t you going to say something?"
Nene said this as if pressing me.
She’s not even looking at Fullcas.
Could it be that she can’t see Fullcas?
"Sorry, I’ll get dressed right away, so please leave the room."
With that, Nene huffed and left the room.
"Could it be that you can’t see Fullcas?"
"Aye, that’s right. Unless I materialize, I am invisible to ordinary humans."
"Materialize?"
"Hmm, that’s right. I haven’t explained materialization to you yet."
While listening, I started to change clothes.
I don’t want to be late for breakfast and get scolded.
"My current state is that of a spirit without a physical body."
"So that’s why when I tried to grab you earlier, I went right through you."
"Aye, that’s correct."
I remembered how I thought Fullcas was a suspicious person and tried to grab her this morning.
At that time, I couldn’t touch her body as if I was grabbing a cloud.
"Sorry, Fullcas, but I need to hurry and go…"
"Ho ho ho."
Fullcas laughed in her unique way and said,
"It’s fine, it’s fine. Don’t worry about me, go ahead."
"Thank you. Well, um…"
I started to say something but stopped.
"What is it?"
But Fullcas encouraged me to continue.
"Um, even though Fullcas is a demon, you’re really kind, I think."
I hesitated to say it because praising a demon like this might be considered rude.
"Ho ho ho, I like curious children."
Thinking about that, I started to leave the room.
Then, Fullcas seemed to be getting ready to follow me and woke up the little horse that had been lying down in the room.
Fullcas then mounted the foal.
For some reason, the foal started to tremble on all fours as soon as Fullcas got on.
"Are you okay?"
I couldn’t help but ask.
"Hmm, it used to be an excellent horse."
The horse, though slowly, started to walk with Fullcas on its back.
It seems that in her spirit form, Fullcas can walk through objects, so there was no need for me to keep the door open.
Seeing this, I thought how convenient it must be.
Wait, but in that state, she can’t touch things, right?
Looking at Fullcas’s hand, I saw a rusty spear.
That spear must be part of Fullcas, so she can touch it, right?
Wait a minute.
This morning, Fullcas poked me with the spear.
In spirit form, she shouldn’t be able to touch things.
So, shouldn’t it be strange that the spear could poke me?
"Hey, Fullcas. This morning, you poked me with the spear, right? In spirit form, you shouldn’t be able to touch me, right? Why?"
"Ho ho ho, to notice that. You have quite a keen eye."
I was praised again.
I don’t think it’s that big of a deal.
"The reason is simple. I materialized for a moment."
"Really?"
I was surprised that she could do that.
"When I materialize, I can move like a normal human and be seen by others."
She explained.
"However, I shouldn’t materialize without the summoner’s permission. So, even though it was to wake you up, I did something I shouldn’t have."
"I’m not angry or anything."
"Ho ho ho, you have a big heart. But, there’s one serious thing I want you to consider."
Fullcas looked at me, and I looked back, wondering what it was.
"It was fortunate that it was me this time, but think about what would happen if a demon with malicious intent did the same thing without your permission."
If a demon with malicious intent materialized without my permission…
They could do all sorts of mischief.
"Understand this: controlling a demon is all about not letting them act freely. If a demon tries to do something against your will, you must stop them with the power of the summoner."
I remembered that the grimoire had binding and banishing spells.
It means I should use those to control the demon.
"I understand."
I nodded sincerely at Fullcas’s words.
"By the way, could you tell me which demons I shouldn’t summon?"
"Ho ho ho, a boy eager for knowledge is indeed commendable. Very well, I will tell you the names of two demons."
Fullcas laughed pleasantly and said,
"Number 13, Buer, and Number 32, Asmodeus. You should be particularly cautious of these two. Both are very powerful but also very rebellious."
Buer and Asmodeus.
I engraved their names in my heart.
Then, another question came to mind.
"Very powerful, meaning they’re stronger than other demons?"
"Aye, that’s correct."
"I thought the Number 1, Bael, was the strongest."
"Ho ho ho, Bael is indeed one of the strongest demons, but the order of the hierarchy has nothing to do with their strength."
"Then, what does the hierarchy mean?"
"Ho ho ho, I don’t know either."
Fullcas smiled.
I thought, "What’s that supposed to mean?" but maybe the hierarchy doesn’t have a deep meaning.
"Big brother! Dad is calling you, hurry up!"
Nene’s voice came from a distance.
I had been so engrossed in talking with Fullcas that I lost track of time.
From the outside, it probably looks like I’m talking to myself. I need to be careful.
"Alright, Fullcas. I’ll be going now."
With that, our conversation came to a temporary end.
