Chapter 6

After being kicked out, I headed towards the house my father had prepared for me.

"Whoa, what a rundown place."

As I approached the house, I said that out loud.

It looked like a house that could collapse at any moment. When I used the key to look inside, as expected, it was covered in dust and was far from livable.

Well, I guess it’s better than having no place at all.

My father had arranged this house for me, promising to take care of me until I turned 15.

He also gave me a small amount of money to get by until then.

He probably wanted me to find a job by then.

I had also secretly brought the grimoire "Goetia" and a piece of paper with the magic circle needed for summoning demons.

"Alright, let's summon the 55th demon, Ourobus!"

As soon as I got home, I declared this.

Ourobus was the demon that Mr. Fullcas had recommended earlier.

"Hmm, there’s something you need to do first, you know."

Just as I was getting psyched up, Mr. Fullcas said this.

What do I need to do?

"Given your current state, it would be difficult to summon two demons at once. Therefore, it’s impossible to summon a new demon without dismissing me with a banishing spell first."

"I see..."

I nodded.

But, it’s a bit sad to say goodbye to Mr. Fullcas, whom I had just become friends with.

"Whenever you have questions, just summon me again."

As if sensing my thoughts, he said this.

Indeed, if I want to see him again, I can just summon him whenever I want.

"Alright, I’ll cast the banishing spell now."

With that, I opened the grimoire.

"---You, the 50th demon, Fullcas. You have answered my requests diligently, so I permit you to depart to a suitable place. Prepare to return immediately when I summon you again through my sacred ritual. I command you to depart peacefully and quietly."

As I finished reciting the spell as written in the grimoire, Mr. Fullcas began to fade away.

"Oh, I almost forgot to mention, I sleep soundly from 8 PM to 4 AM, so if you want to summon me, do it outside of those hours."

With those words, Mr. Fullcas disappeared.

I remembered that when I summoned him yesterday, he was sound asleep.

I think it was around 9 PM, after dinner.

I see, so it was already his bedtime.

However, going to bed at 8 PM and waking up at 4 AM is not much different from a typical old person.

"Alright, let’s summon the next demon."

With that, I switched gears.

"Um, it’s the 55th demon, Ourobus, right?"

I flipped the grimoire to Ourobus’s page.

The magic circle should be the same one I used to summon Mr. Fullcas yesterday.

Alright, the summoning spell.

"---I solemnly command you in the name of Norman. Appear like a swift wind and show yourself within the magic circle. Come from wherever you are in the world and answer all my questions rationally. Appear without delay in a peaceful form and fulfill my wishes. I summon you. By the name that commands all things, the name that, when heard, causes the four elemental spirits to falter, the wind to tremble, the sea to flee, the fire to extinguish, the earth to shake, and all spirits of the sky, earth, and hell to tremble, I command you. Come forth—55th demon, Ourobus!!"

It seems that only the last part of the spell needs to be changed, and the rest is the same.

The magic circle began to glow.

"Are you my master?"

First, I noticed that the voice was unusually high for a man.

As the light faded and I could open my eyes, I was taken aback by what I saw.

There stood a creature with the upper body of a horse and the lower body of a human—a horse-man.
