Chapter 48

In the darkness.
Sain, after intense exercise, was breathing slightly heavily.
His right hand caressed Lina's fragrant shoulder. With his good night vision, Sain saw a hint of crimson.
After a long silence, Sain finally confessed everything to Lina.
He came to the Dark Realm at the age of six and was taken away by Lina at eight. Since then, he had lived with Lina for twelve years.
Twelve years, which was already three-fifths of Sain's short twenty-year life.
He could not bring himself to betray Lina.
Confessing everything also marked Sain's readiness to face his senior sister.
However, what surprised Sain greatly was that after he told Lina everything, she remained unusually calm, without the rage he had initially expected.
There was a faint glint of something strange in her eyes, indicating that Lina was not as calm as she appeared.
"What do you plan to do?" Lina suddenly asked Sain.
Sain had a premonition that if he said he wanted to fight his senior sister, Lina would definitely be his accomplice.
Sain, of course, would not say such a thing. Even if he fell out with his senior sister, the bond of their master-disciple relationship still existed.
It just might not be as close as it used to be, where they would chat more often.
To be honest, both his mentor Moses and his senior brother Zorro were very busy.
Since joining Moses' disciples, the person Sain interacted with the most was his senior sister Phyllis.
"I plan to refuse my senior sister," Sain said sincerely.
Even in the darkness, Lina could see Sain's bright eyes.
He was not lying to her, Lina thought.
But what Sain did not expect was that a moment later, Lina shook her head and said, "I think you should still go."
"It's just a visit, there won't be any loss."
"On the contrary, if you have this connection with your senior sister, you will have a better future under Master Moses." Lina said.
Lina's words left Sain in disbelief.
Sain then asked, "You don't mind this kind of thing?"
Glancing at Sain, Lina replied, "Of course I do! If I had the strength of a formal black mage, I would definitely hang her up and beat her."
"But in the Dark Realm, our first priority is to survive, isn't it?" Lina shook her head and said.
"I know
You've always wanted to return to the surface, and you've even asked your mentor about where we black magic apprentices come from in the wizard world."
"Advanced apprentices are not our end goal. Only by reaching the level of a quasi-mage or even a formal mage can you find your way home." Lina sighed softly and leaned into Sain's embrace.
The warmth of Lina in his arms made Sain's emotions surge.
He tightly held the beauty in his arms and whispered in her ear, audible only to her, "To me, wherever you are, that's home."
Sain's words reignited the passion.
In the heat of the moment, both of them lost control.
The suppressed panting and the creaking of the bed filled the air. This night would be another long and exhausting one.
...
Three days later, Sain came to his senior sister Phyllis' dormitory as agreed.
Phyllis' dormitory was the last building in the apprentice dormitory area.
No more than thirty apprentices lived here, and Phyllis was in the first room on the left of the second floor.
Sain had been here once before, two years ago, when he helped Phyllis move some large experimental instruments.
Phyllis' strength was among the best among advanced apprentices, or she wouldn't have won several college awards.
Of course, this strength included the magic items she possessed.
Among the three disciples of Mentor Moses, Phyllis was the only one who dared to be coquettish with her mentor and even ask for magic items.
More than seventy percent of the "trinkets" Mentor Moses casually made over the years ended up in Phyllis' possession.
Sain didn't know how many magic items Phyllis had, but he had seen three high-level magic items of comparable quality to the Acid Staff in her hands!
Phyllis was definitely a rich and beautiful girl in the black magic college apprentice circle.
Her statement that Sain had picked up a great deal was not an exaggeration.
With a somewhat heavy step and a strange feeling, Sain came to Phyllis' door and knocked lightly.
There were few people in the entire dormitory building, so Sain's knocking sounded particularly clear.
Most of the residents in this building were advanced apprentices and quasi-mages.
Sain wondered if any bored person would notice this scene and secretly mock him, a mid-level apprentice, for being here.
In less than two or three seconds, the door in front of Sain quickly opened.
Phyllis was wearing a white, lacy, long dress, not a mage robe.
Sain was momentarily stunned when he saw her.
Phyllis blushed at Sain's stunned expression.
She quickly pulled Sain into the room and slammed the door shut.
Sain's guess was correct; a quasi-mage did indeed notice the situation.
He was a necromancy quasi-mage living on the floor above Phyllis, and he had another identity: the senior disciple of formal black mage Kosolon, and the senior brother of the advanced apprentice Mike, who had fought Lina to a draw in a college exam a few years ago.
"Tsk tsk, this old woman finally couldn't hold back."
"Who's that kid, looks so delicate."
"Poor Aaron, I used to go on college missions with you, and that woman was our common pursuit."
"But after twenty years, you died early, and I lost interest in that aspect."
"Who would have thought it would end up benefiting these new college kids." The quasi-mage shook his "head" and said.
The quasi-mage who noticed the abnormality in the dormitory below no longer looked human.
Master Kosolon was famous in the entire black magic college for his limb modification experiments on his apprentices.
The advanced apprentice Death Hand Mike, who had four arms, was considered light.
The quasi-mage in front of him, however, had almost every organ and skin replaced, inside and out.
A layer of gray skin, which was repulsive, replaced the quasi-mage's original hair.
The length of this gray skin even exceeded his height, making him look like a hairy monster when standing.
But this gray skin also effectively concealed the quasi-mage's terrifying appearance.
At least, it wouldn't scare the little apprentices in the college.
Even so, this quasi-mage rarely left his dormitory.
Unless summoned by Mentor Kosolon, he would hardly leave his room for a year.
The idle grumbling of a bored quasi-black mage did not affect the situation in the room below.
At this moment, Sain was already being held by his senior sister at the bedside.
