The Second Day.
Amidst the "dong dong" tolling of the Academy's magic bell, several hundred black magic apprentices, including Sain, gathered in front of the flower garden at the central teaching building of the Academy.
Along with Sain and the others, over twenty owl inspectors of the Academy were scattered around the area.
Sain could see only six official black mages standing in front of the teaching building with his naked eye.
But it was clear that the number of official black mages heading to the Shadow Valley was not limited to just six. At this moment, in the semi-air above the Academy, some mist and gray crows were rising and falling, all the work of those official black mages.
There was no mobilization, no explanation.
Deputy Dean Dadalon stood at the front of the other five black mages, his tone cold and heavy, and said, "Let's go!"
Influenced by the usual intimidation of the official black mages, the several hundred apprentices left the Academy in complete silence.
At this time, the city of Muzubula had become extremely quiet.
Two days ago, the black mages had ordered all residents of the city not to leave their homes and strictly enforced a curfew.
Even the subterranean people who usually came and went in Muzubula City were completely driven out by the black mages.
As for when Muzubula City would reopen, the high-ranking black mages did not give a precise answer.
The distance to the Shadow Valley was very far, at least Sain had never been there, only vaguely hearing of such a place.
The way to the Shadow Valley was obviously not on foot. The black mages had no interest in wasting time on the journey, and for the few who knew the truth, including the Dean, delay could lead to changes.
A huge flying wheel was docked outside the city. Sain was not unfamiliar with this thing; he had come to the underground world in this very way years ago.
It was also from his mentor, Moses, that Sain learned the name of this thing: "Skyship."
With the size of the skyship, it was no problem to carry several hundred black magic apprentices.
What surprised Sain was that, in addition to the black magic apprentices, nearly a hundred minotaurs and several dozen dark creatures also boarded the ship together.
On the deck, Deputy Dean Dadalon seemed to be arguing with one of the dark creatures.
Due to the soundproof barrier, Sain could not hear anything.
He then went to the cabin with Lina and, thanks to their strength, secured a better room on the second floor of the top deck.
According to what Master Zorro had just whispered to him, even with the skyship, it would take at least a week to reach the Shadow Valley.
It seemed that Master Zorro had been to the Shadow Valley before?
Sain wanted to ask him for more detailed information, but the Master said they would know when they got there, and he also needed to prepare for the upcoming exploration of the spatial rift.
On the deck.
All the black magic apprentices had gradually entered the cabin.
Deputy Dean Dadalon, with an unfriendly tone, questioned a large black spider with sixteen legs in front of him, "Why have only one-third of your people come? Where are the other dark creatures?"
This black spider, which was as tall as a person, was not afraid of Deputy Dean Dadalon's unfriendly tone. It replied in a human voice, "You violated the agreement first, acting seven years ahead of schedule and not informing us earlier."
"Our Black Magic Spider clan has the right to choose whether to act with you or continue to observe," the large spider answered.
At this, Deputy Dean Dadalon's eyes narrowed.
The overwhelming elemental pressure of a second-level black mage instantly pinned the black spider to the skyship's deck, immobilizing it.
To be fair, this black spider also possessed the strength comparable to an official black mage, but it was still a level below Deputy Dean Dadalon's second-level power, hence the suppression.
The black spider, pinned to the deck, let out a muffled groan, and some yellow-green, foul-smelling blood oozed from its abdomen.
Among the three Deputy Deans of the Black Magic Academy, Deputy Dean Martin was the strongest, followed by Deputy Dean Dadalon, and then Ms. Joan.
To be chosen as deputies by the mysterious and powerful Dean and City Lord, these three black mages were naturally not ordinary; they were all outstanding in their respective levels.
Faced with the Deputy Dean's suppression, this black spider was defiant.
It stared at Dadalon with its five pitch-black eyes and said, "Are you sure you want to fight with our Black Magic Spider clan?"
"The dark creatures of Muzubula City are all vassals of our clan, including our young clan leader, who was personally invited by Deputy Dean Martin."
"Whether in the Western Isles or in the vast majority of the underground world of the Wizard World, we have our activities."
"Under the protection of the goddess, our Black Magic Spider clan will not fear any threat or challenge, even if you are mages of the Wizard World!" the first-level black spider screeched.
The black spider's screech made Dadalon coldly snort.
Three of the five cold and vicious black eyes on its head instantly burst.
A difference of one life level meant a world of difference in combat power.
Deputy Dean Dadalon did not directly kill the spider. After disabling three of its eyes, he fiercely waved his magic robe and turned to leave.
"A bunch of foolish believers. I wonder why Martin invited them from the Western Isles?"
"Could it be the Dean's intention?" Dadalon thought.
As seekers of truth, the mages of the Wizard World never believed in the existence of gods.
If gods truly existed, those ancient and terrifying beings hidden deep within the Holy Towers and even the True Spirit Towers would have rushed out to imprison and lock the so-called gods on the experimental table for thorough research and dissection.
After generations of research and verification by the mages of the Wizard World, so-called gods were merely some individuals with higher life levels who had self-proclaimed themselves out of boredom.
The foolishness of lower life forms and their awe of unexplainable phenomena led them to revere some individuals with certain levels of power as "gods."
The goddess worshipped by the Black Magic Spider clan was an anomaly in the entire Wizard World, or rather, in the tens of thousands of planes controlled by the Wizard Civilization.
Ordinary foreign gods, even the powerful True Spirit Sovereigns often referred to as "Supreme Gods," dared not provoke the Wizard Civilization, let alone spread their faith and develop a pantheon in the Wizard World.
Yet, this entity managed to develop covertly in the Wizard World and gained significant influence among the many subterranean dark creatures. It was unclear what secrets were involved.
