When Long Junhao came out of the director’s office, the Director Li Xuan was sweet talking and gushing at the handset. Long Junhao glanced at Gu Chen, the intent of his questioning expression was very clear. How did someone, who appeared rather normal, turn into a pet dog in the blink of an eye?

“Don’t mind him.” Gu Chen pulled Long Junhao along the cobblestone path in the courtyard. “He is always like this whenever he is on call with his wife.”

“Oh, so that’s why.” Long Junhao nodded while thinking to himself that loving one’s wife dearly was a good quality. This institution Director wasn’t that bad.

Gu Chen glanced at Long Junhao. He restrained himself and ultimately didn’t say a truth: Reality is usually cruel. It would be better for him to personally experience these things in future.

The two of them left the huge courtyard and returned to the institution’s hallway. The miracle doctor and pregnant lady were still inseparable while the beauty was continuing to sing an unknown tune. Long Junhao sighed miserably. His cheap parents probably wouldn’t believe he was a normal person after this incident. What could he do, the day he could be discharged from this institution seemed even further away.

No, he couldn’t bear with it anymore. This time, it had been the pregnant woman that barged into his room in the middle of the night. What about the next time? What if one of those creatures suddenly imagined Long Junhao as a monster and himself as Ultraman?

Yucks ——Long Junhao had a disgusted look on his face.

“What’s wrong?” Gu Chen eyed him in surprise.

Long Junhao pointed at himself and asked in earnest, “I don’t look like a monster, do I?”

“…”

“What… what’s that look supposed to mean?!” Long Junhao felt pissed each time he saw this sort of look from others. “I am not a nutcase!”

Gu Chen fell silent and nodded his head slowly in acknowledgment.

“How dare you be perfunctory!” Long Junhao was even more incensed. “Your prince really isn’t crazy! I am asking you this very seriously. I don’t look like a monster, right? Right?”

Gu Chen noticed Long Junhao getting increasingly incensed and hurriedly pulled him closer. “You don’t.”

“Mhmm, that’s more like it.” Long Junhao became satisfied and continued walking. He took two steps then halted suddenly. Wait a moment, it was no use if anybody else felt this way. It would only be alright if those few things believed he didn’t look like a monster. He turned his head and glanced to the side. The two in the courtyard were still deep in discussion over the health of the fetus.

To ask or not to ask. Long Junhao was stumped. If I don’t ask, I will always feel uncertain .

But if I ask, wouldn’t I be finished if I accidentally enlightened those two?

Long Junhao slowly made his way behind a pillar to observe them. He bit his finger and pondered without moving for quite some time. His primary doctor even became worried that Long Junhao would go forward and claim responsibility for that ‘child’. Finally, Long Junhao decided not to ask and turned to leave. At the same time, he gestured at the primary doctor who had been silently watching him all this while. “Then, go complete your work. I am going for a walk.” Long Junhao took off after saying that.

Gu Chen stood on the spot watching him leave. He still didn’t know the reason Long Junhao had gone to the Director’s office to look for him. Perhaps that was just a spur of the moment idea? Gu Chen felt it was entirely possible because ever since the day he returned, he never felt that this prince was strange. He waved to a nurse and instructed her to notify immediately if any problems cropped up before returning to his own office.

Elsewhere, Long Junhao strolled along the fringes of the asylum. He decided to give up his current life and protection and head for his ideal new world——to wander.

He glanced up at a distant cloud in the sky, then cast a sweeping gaze at the height of the institution’s walls. Then, he continued to stroll slowly while admiring the flowers in the institution. While watching some bees in the distance, he sighed while lamenting, “In the end, butterflies can’t fly across the ocean. Flowers may fill the sky but their fragrance still dies. Life is fickle like a flower, who will remember you next year?”

The attendant behind immediately bowed. “Your Highness has great literary talent!”

Long Junhao returned a modest smile. “Ah, you flatter me too much.” He turned and continued walking but deep down he had become frantic. He really wanted to run to the Director’s office once again to grab his sleeves and shout: Why the heck are the perimeter walls built so high? Have you not spared a thought for those who wish to break out?!

Long Junhao patted his sleeves and regained his composure. He didn’t give up continuing to look for opportunities. After all, these people treated him as a young master and he didn’t believe he wouldn’t be able to escape! And if he really couldn’t, he would go learn how to make explosives! Then, he would escape and blow up this asylum at the same time!

He acted as an elegant poet but was actually studying the security system at the main gates in secret. According to his observations, the security guards at the main gates were very relaxed as they didn’t have to look after the patients. They probably weren’t very vigilant as they had nothing to fear. Thus, the probability of successfully escaping at night was still rather good.

As he pondered, Long Junhao looked up to see the fake hill in the courtyard and chuckled. He called out, “Men, your prince wants to climb a mountain. Go prepare a hook and a reel of sturdy rope.” Mhmm, he would still make a secondary plan if things didn’t work out.

The staff members eyed the fake hill that wasn’t even three meters tall. After a short silence, someone asked carefully, “Your Highness, do you need rope… to climb this mountain?”

Long Junhao glared at him and put on an air of majesty. “What’s wrong? Are you all doubting your prince’s decision?”

Everyone broke out in cold sweat. They didn’t dare rebut and went to prepare the stuff.

When Gu Chen looked up from a pile of files he had been going through, he noticed a scene happening outside his office windows. A certain person was holding a hook and a bundle of thick rope on his shoulders. This person tossed the hook to the summit of the fake hill precisely and began to climb. Gu Chen opened his door and headed out in bafflement. When he reached the courtyard, that person had already reached the top and was smiling proudly.

The crowd below cheered, “Your Highness is brave!”

When Long Junhao, who was smiling smugly, noticed his primary doctor amongst the crowd he knew he needed to tone it down. He put a fist to his mouth and coughed lightly. “Mhmm, you guys flatter me too much.”

Gu Chen had already learned all about Long Junhao’s movements from the nurse. When he noticed how Long Junhao was staring at these newly acquired equipment as if they were some treasure, Gu Chen understood at once. Did this person plan to escape the asylum?

He chuckled grudgingly and walked to the foot of the fake hill and looked up. Long Junhao’s preliminary test was successful and he was in a good mood. He smiled when he noticed the person standing at the base. “Gu Chen.”

Gu Chen held his breath. Long Junhao seemed to glow as the sunlight shone on him. Furthermore, that smile was enthralling. Someone in the crowd behind mumbled, “Trouble~”

Gu Chen quickly regained his senses. Extending a hand, he spoke warmly, “Come down.”

Trouble indeed , Gu Chen thought to himself. Otherwise, would he have given up a good life to go against that dangerous group?

Long Junhao was very obedient. He moved down a little before jumping accurately and landing in Gu Chen’s embrace. The familiar and overflowing scent of that embrace unknowingly made him feel safe. He couldn’t help but ask, “Gu Chen, can I still find you if I leave the institution one day?”

Gu Chen smiled and caressed Long Junhao’s head. “Of course.”

“Really? That’s good.” Long Junhao felt relieved and smiled at him. After a momentary daze, Gu Chen became miserably aware that he really had no resistance towards this person’s smile. It was problematic indeed.

Long Junhao dragged his primary doctor to lunch. He then spent the rest of the afternoon napping due to his earlier exertions. He then continued to sleep after dinner too. Gu Chen knew he was conserving his strength for a jailbreak but didn’t say anything. He covered Long Junhao with a blanket and then drove home.

Long Junhao woke up at 2 a.m. He changed, then opened his door slightly, carefully peering out at the walkway through the tiny crack. He carefully tiptoed out and slowly crawled past the duty office with great difficulty towards the institution’s walls. After a great deal of effort, he eventually made it out of the courtyard.

He took a deep breath and crept towards the main gate slowly. He had originally thought that the staff in the security office would be asleep. Unfortunately, a security guard came out just when he was a few steps away. The security guard smiled and waved at Long Junhao. “Oh, if it isn’t Your Highness. Taking a night stroll? Want to come in for some tea?”

“…” Long Junhao replied, “No need. I was actually sleepwalking. I will go back to sleep now.” He turned and walked in the direction he came from, giving the nurse in the duty room a fright. He reached his room, flopped on the bed and rolled about.

Long Junhao waited for quite awhile before checking the time once again. It was already 4 a.m. He felt either the duty nurses’ or the security guards’ vigilance would be at their lowest now. Thus, he once again inched his way outside. This time, he brought along his equipment and made a beeline for an inconspicuous corner of the high wall. Upon reaching there, he tossed up the hook and started to climb.

Oh my god… He endured the pain of the coarse rope rubbing over his palms and climbed up slowly. This was really exhausting and he had never done something so strenuous even in both his lives!

As the saying goes, nothing is impossible for a willing heart.

After a bitter struggle, a certain prince finally made it to the top of the wall. He switched the direction of the hook and started to descend using the rope. Upon landing, he took a really deep breath with clenched fists. Right now, he felt as if warm tears would gush out any minute. The air outside was indeed much better than the air inside.

He dusted himself off and was about to start running when a dull monotonous voice sounded beside him, “Oh, if it isn’t Your Highness. Sleepwalking again? Your way of sleepwalking is rather special.”

“…” Long Junhao turned rigidly. The security guard was smiling at him amiably. Long Junhao immediately became incensed and raised a trembling finger at him. “Why… why the hell are you not sleeping at night?!”

The security guard nodded. “Normally, during this time, I would indeed be asleep.”

“Then, what about tonight?!”

“It’s different tonight,” The security guard said in a kindly manner. “Before he signed off, Dr. Gu said you tend to sleep walk and asked us to take note.”

“Nonsense!” Long Junhao became even more infuriated. “How would he know I sleepwalk?!”

“I asked him about it.” The security guard’s smile never wavered. “Dr. Gu said he slept with you before…”

“…”

“What are you continuing to play at?”

Long Junhao was absolutely furious. Fuming, he collected his equipment and placed it on his shoulder before stomping to the asylum. Once again, the duty nurse watched in fright as he floated back to his room.

When Gu Chen came to work in the morning, Long Junhao was instructing his attendants to dig a hole. The beautiful lawn had been destroyed by the hole that was already over two meters deep. Gu Chen roughly estimated the hole’s distance from the perimeter wall and silently dismissed the idea of escaping via tunneling. He then continued observing from the side.

Long Junhao shot him a look and instructed the staff to come up. Following that, he stood still by the pit. Gu Chen thought to himself, He isn’t trying to kill himself is he? He went over hurriedly. “Haohao.”

Long Junhao was hitting his own head listlessly. “13, 13, 13…”

Gu Chen’s lips twitched. Long Junhao turned over, blinking his bloodshot eyes, a result of the sleepless night. He opened his mouth and called out feebly, “Gu Chen…”

Gu Chen’s heart trembled and he felt this scene was too impactful and could easily make him do something inappropriate.

Long Junhao continued to call out, “Gu Chen…”

Those calls made Gu Chen feel as if his soul had left his body. He couldn’t help drifting over to Long Junhao’s side. Just as he was about to say something, Gu Chen felt a sudden force pushing his body, followed by a sense of imbalance. He gaped in disbelief as he thought how an all-powerful person in this line of business had been so easily pushed into the pit. This was trouble indeed.

While he hastily adjusted his falling posture in midair to land on two feet, Long Junhao’s voice rang on lazily, “14, 14, 14…”

“Bullsh*t!” Gu Chen growled, “I’m clearly the only one here!”

Long Junhao turned a deaf ear and turned to leave. While walking off, he instructed, “Bury him.”

“Yes.” The other staff immediately scampered over to the side of the pit and cried, “Farewell General, we will come visit your grave next year! Definitely!”

Gu Chen’s lips twitched. “Then I have to really thank you all…”

“General, please don’t be so modest!” With that, they started filling the pit.

“Hey, are you all for real?”

“Our hands are tied. The imperial command cannot be defied. We hope that the General can forgive us.”

“Forgiveness? Aren’t I the one being buried here?”

“We know it’s you, we do. You don’t have to remind us.”

“…”

When Gu Chen climbed out of the pit covered in dirt, Long Junhao had already gone to catch up on sleep. Gu Chen smiled grimly as he watched that person’s bedroom. “I’m doing this for your good…”
