"Lericia, have you eaten?"
Ferris knelt down in front of Lericia, bringing his eyes to her level, and asked.
"Um..."
Naturally, she was so nervous about her first meeting with her new husband that she hadn't eaten anything today.
"Shall I have some light refreshments brought? We can have tea together?"
"Y-Yes, if you have the time."
Having tea with Ferris would make her nervous, but since he turned out to be much kinder than she had imagined, she felt a bit more at ease and even a little hungry.
I must be quite materialistic.
"Do you like cake? Sweet things? I read in a book yesterday that it's a misconception that all children love sweets, and we shouldn't force them..."
"Ferris-sama"
"Hm?"
"What kind of books did you read to prepare for our meeting?"
Should I be upset about being treated like a child, or should I be grateful that he considered my tendencies and strategies for dealing with a young bride?
"I'm sorry. I thought parenting books might be off the mark, but I couldn't figure out what to read..."
"No..."
I think parenting books are quite different, but seeing Ferris's handsome face clouded with worry made me want to laugh a little.
"Thank you. I love sweet things."
Thinking that he considered what would make me happy is genuinely appreciated.
"Then I'll have them brought."
Sweet things, how nice...
Plus, even though my husband is incredibly handsome, having someone to share a tea table with is a bit nice too.
I traveled to Diana for the wedding, and the ladies-in-waiting here have been very courteous, but in an unfamiliar country, I've been eating alone all the time...
