Chapter 82

Lin Mo tightly held onto the golden dragon Su, trying to give it as much leeway as possible to maneuver flexibly in this extremely dangerous environment.

"Quick! Faster! It's right ahead!"

The anti-gravity field output power of the SEG core unit had already reached 120% of its rated power, ultimately because the curse had suppressed Su's innate void magnetic field.

Consequently, Su's massive dragon body also served as a huge shield for Lin Mo, blocking the lava and flames.

"Hold on tight!"

Roaring loudly, Su struggled to grasp that sliver of hope in this hell of molten lava, almost falling into the lava pool once.

The mages and archers from Portland and the dragon hunters unleashed their full firepower, with spells and magical arrows continuously shooting from behind, causing spell explosions and splashing lava to fly everywhere, almost engulfing Lin Mo and Su in a wave of fire.

In such a situation, the most effective role, the spellcaster, was unable to successfully cast powerful negative-effect curses due to the overly abundant, high-temperature, and limited attack space of the fire element in the air, as well as the presence of harmful gases.

The golden dragon could only do its best to dodge, with no means of counterattack, relying entirely on the "Dragon Knight's" ballistic model calculations to avoid attack trajectories with some risk.

"Cunning Slan people!"

In this situation, the warrior, Sword God Glen, who had even less use, swung his fist, enveloped in battle qi flames, and smashed it into the cave wall beside him, shattering a large depression in the hard volcanic rock.

He couldn't understand how a dragon knight could so easily lure a strange golden dragon, not only avoiding being killed but also successfully luring it into his control, just like a true dragon knight, to traverse the dangerous lava pool together.

Other high-level warriors were equally helpless.

They didn't have the courage or ability to jump onto the floating rocks in the lava to continue pursuing the golden dragon. In fact, although those rocks hadn't melted, their surface temperature was no lower than the lava. Stepping on them rashly would result in immediate incineration, turning to ashes in an instant, leaving no trace.

Boom!~

The hundreds of acres of the lava pool suddenly shook, followed by a huge bubble rising, almost as large as the golden dragon. It burst with a loud explosion, shaking the cave walls and causing the fire element crystals to fall, and some fragile stalactites to break off and fall into the lava.

"Heaven? What's happening!"

"The lava is surging up, retreat quickly!"

The sulfuric smell in the air became heavier, and the concentration of toxic gases rose sharply. The mages and archers from the dragon hunters and Portland had to step back, their flesh and blood.

Boom!~

Another equally large bubble rose, the explosion echoing deafeningly in the mostly enclosed space. The red lava was surging like a tide, even turning to a white-hot color, indicating that the temperature of the lava pool was rapidly rising, possibly exceeding 1000 degrees Celsius.

Perhaps this underground fire vein had already been at a critical point, and the residual power and destruction of the human mages and spell arrows had disturbed it, showing signs of revival.

Another exit from the lava pool was in sight. Lin Mo saw a large area of the lava surface in front of the golden dragon rapidly bulge, as if a giant bubble was rising from below.

"Be careful ahead!"

Lin Mo shouted urgently, a flash of inspiration coming to him. "Prepare to spread your wings for leverage."

"Understood, roar..."

Sensing the fatal danger, Su roared with a power no less than the bubble's explosion, suddenly turning and kicking the stalactites above the lava pool. At the cost of shattering over a dozen thick stalactites, he successfully gained a huge counterforce.

At this moment, Su chose to trust the dragon knight without reservation, just like a true mount dragon.

In an instant, the man and the dragon narrowly avoided the large bubble that had risen halfway, passing by it with only a few inches to spare. Lin Mo could clearly see the bubble, like a giant water bubble, containing a gas with terrifying explosive power, beautiful like amber. Everyone who saw this knew it was another form of death.

The man and the dragon were brushing past death.

"Right now, spread your scales and wings!"

Before Lin Mo finished speaking, Su suddenly spread his large, folded wings. The bubble behind them had already fully formed and exploded with a loud noise.

The intense heat wave spread fiercely in all directions, hitting the fully spread dragon wings as expected. The powerful thrust sent the man and the dragon flying over ten yards, even soaring over a large rock they had planned to land on.

Thud! The side of the lava pool was hit by a massive creature, causing a loud crash. The golden dragon fell clumsily to the ground, a few steps away from the surging lava.

Su and Lin Mo successfully crossed the extremely dangerous lava pool under the harassment of the dragon hunters and Portland.

"Damn!"

Lin Mo nimbly got up, kicking off the red-hot lava that had stuck to his feet. If Su hadn't forcefully adjusted the angle a bit, he might have been crushed under the dragon's body, likely turning into a human pancake.

"Hehe, we made it, hahaha, we finally made it."

Su struggled to find his balance, got up, and roared at the other side of the lava pool: "Fools, come on if you dare..."

Unfortunately, its curses went unheard. The turbulent lava pool forced both groups to retreat into the lava tunnel. The lava bubbles were bursting continuously, filling the nearly sealed space with a deafening roar.

"Let's get out of here, I feel the underground fire vein might erupt again."

Lin Mo keenly sensed a great terror rapidly rising from the lava pool, his heart filled with warning signs.

"What a pity!"

The golden dragon looked at the turbulent lava pool with regret and followed Lin Mo into the other exit.

If not for those hateful pursuers, it might have chosen to soak in the lava bath, gradually washing away the curses. But now, the agitated lava pool had become extremely dangerous, and a slight misstep could cost it its life.

Passing through a narrow tunnel, the scene suddenly opened up, and the man and the dragon entered a huge, olive-shaped space, with a maximum diameter of over a hundred meters and a total length of nearly two kilometers.

The bottom of the cave shimmered like a small lake. In front was water, behind was fire, a truly wondrous sight for both humans and dragons.

"Water temperature 40 degrees Celsius, weakly acidic water, no signs of life!"

Lin Mo released over a dozen lighting spells into the water and the air, finding no strange or dangerous things.

At the bottom, large crystal clusters could be seen, but when his mental energy wrapped around them, there was no elemental fluctuation. Observing their refraction in the water, they seemed to be just very pure crystal. The lighting spells, after being refracted by them, added countless colors to the cave and the bottom, making the cave look like a fairyland with floating light and color.

The golden dragon, however, was indifferent to these things that could only be seen but not eaten. It leaped into the water, headfirst, and sank to the bottom.

Since it couldn't drown, the crystal columns at the bottom suffered, being broken and shattered by the dragon's brute force.

Lin Mo activated the anti-gravity field of his tactical armor and easily glided over the water, quickly reaching the opposite side of the cave.

As they left this space, a thunderous roar came from the tunnel leading to the lava pool, followed by a surge of scorching lava, like a red dragon, fiercely plunging into the water, hissing continuously.

This was a clash of water and fire, with white steam instantly filling the entire space.

Although the lava quickly solidified upon contact with the water, blocking the entrance, pressure always finds a way to resist. The blocked lava pipe suddenly burst, causing a catastrophic event in the large cave. The ground shook, and countless lava and rocks flew, most of which fell back into the water. The lava continued to spout, solidify, and burst, creating a vicious cycle. The deep water in the cave boiled and evaporated, turning into scalding steam, which expanded countless times and rushed into other tunnels and any gaps.

"The volcano is erupting!"

Feeling a tremor and a warm, humid air flow behind them, Lin Mo and Su exchanged a glance.

"Run!"

The man and the dragon, speaking in unison, accelerated to full speed. The power of a volcanic eruption was almost beyond human resistance, even for a dragon.

Their footsteps were heavy, like a train, as the golden dragon ran frantically through the underground tunnel. The dragon knight grabbed the dragon's tail and was dragged along in the air.

"Forward, fast, 200 steps ahead, turn right, go up! At the next fork, take the middle path..."

The golden dragon Su followed Lin Mo's instructions, rapidly advancing through the maze-like underground cave. One thing was certain: it was going up, seemingly getting closer to the surface.

Intense tremors and scorching air currents chased them from behind.

"Damn! There's no way ahead, it's a dead end!"

After running for three to four hours, the golden dragon found itself at a dead end, with a thick, gray rock wall blocking the way.

"Dig up, it's less than 2 meters to the surface!"

Lin Mo saw what he wanted, a crack right above his head.

Under the soft white light of the lighting spell, the fine roots of plants could be clearly seen, indicating that they were very close to the surface.

Su was like the most powerful excavator, with the soil and rocks being as soft as tofu to its claws. In a moment, it pushed away the last bit of soil, and a starry sky came into view. It let out an excited, triumphant roar: "Haha, we're out!"

"What is it? A monster has emerged from underground!"

"Gather, enemy attack!"

The loud war horn suddenly broke the silence of the night.
