Dahai, which had become bluish due to lack of oxygen, was sent to the intensive care unit after making sure that he was breathing smoothly.

He was held back in the birth canal for too long. The doctor was afraid that it might damage his brain and required him to undergo treatment. Compared with his sister, Dahai was very small and very weak. Because of the incorrect posture, he unable to come out, causing his mother to suffer.

After Zhao Lanxiang finished delivering Dahai, she took a breath and looked at him for the last time before fainting.

He Songbai hugged his daughter, who was only half a day old, and wondered whether he should cry or laugh. His eyes were flushed, his eyes were dim, and his eyes clenched tightly, but he still clutched his sleeping wife.

The baby in his arms cried louder than ever.

...

Zhao Lanxiang slept until noon the next day. She opened her eyes and saw He Songbai's head lying on her bed.

She reached out and touched it gently, and the head lifted up in a puff.

He hugged her tightly and murmured, "You freaked me out...you can't scare me like this again."

"You worked hard to give birth to Tang Tang and Dahai safely. I will never let you risking your life having children again..."

As he said that, his tears came out subconsciously. He took a deep breath and looked at his pale wife, and tried to calm down the trembling in his heart.

Zhao Lanxiang wiped away the man's tears and said softly, "Don't cry. A man will not flick when he has tears."

The man wiped his face uncomfortably and asked hoarsely, "Do you feel uncomfortable or hungry?"

As he said that, he had to uncover her quilt and check her wounds.

Zhao Lanxiang blushed suddenly.

He Songbai glanced at her carefully and asked her about any pain. Zhao Lanxiang shook her head, again and again, saying no. He was relieved.

"What about Tang Tang and Dahai?"

He Songbai's voice was restrained and could not be refused, "Eat the porridge first, and then I will tell you when it is finished."

He brought a bowl of pork liver and blood porridge to his wife, squeezed the spoon with his thumb, and slowly put it on his mouth to blow. He blew a spoonful and fed her a spoonful. The grain in the bowl was boiled perfectly and shiny, like a layer of enamel. It was a brown rice porridge mixed with green onion, fragrant and melted in the mouth.

Zhao Lanxiang was hungry after not eating for a day. The smell of fresh food made her stomach sore. She opened her mouth and hurriedly ate every spoonful, and soon the bowl of porridge came to an end.

She asked again about two babies.

He Songbai glanced at his wife, who finally recovered a little bit of flesh, and his young face finally showed the joy of being a father. He had two more blood relatives overnight, and this double surprise made him happy and tired.

He hugged his daughter Tang Tang, a little pink dumpling. She has a blushing face and sparse but soft hair.

Zhao Lanxiang holds the soft baby. She was very light, but for her, she worth the whole world.

Her eyes burst into tears, and her lips kissed the girl's tender skin.

She asked, "What about Dahai?"

He Songbai said, "Dahai is a little weak, and the doctor will not let me hug him. I will take you to see him later."

His voice was calm and thick, with a man's deep, hoarse and sweet voice. After listening to him, Zhao Lanxiang felt suffocated, as if she could not breathe.

He Songbai was afraid that she was too sad and too stressed during her confinement, so he spoke to her in such an understatement.

He held his wife and calmly said, "Don't think about it. Dahai just needs to recuperate for a while. They put him in an incubator to assist in treatment."

"You feed Tang Tang first. She hadn't had milk before she was born... After feeding her, let's go to see Dahai."

Tang Tang cried in time. The baby's soft cry slammed into the softest depth in Zhao Lanxiang's heart.

She opened her dress and let the child feed.

A baby's sucking force was very strong. Tang Tang sucked hard. She squeezed her mouth aggrievedly, but there was no milk.

He Songbai took the child over and put it on the bed. He twisted a hot towel and covered her chest.

Zhao Lanxiang was rubbed for a long time until her cheeks flushed.

He Songbai looked at her for a long time and pulled up the curtain. He took the hot towel in his wife's hand and asked softly and gracefully, "I'll help you?"

Zhao Lanxiang did not speak.

He lowered his head to cover one side and sucked hard, holding the hot towel with his fingers and dexterously massaging her chest.1

After repeated attempts, Tang Tang's rations finally flowed out. Zhao Lanxiang quickly hugged her daughter. The pale yellow milk kept flowing into Tang Tang's mouth. The little baby girl's eyelashes were slender and thin, and she was blinking slightly.

The little baby's dark eyes rolled with tears. She drank milk happily.

Zhao Lanxiang saw the whole heart melt, and the baby in her palm swallowed subconsciously, making her heart warm, swollen, and sore.

She gave Tang Tang a full meal. She called He Songbai to clean a bottle with boiling water, then carefully squeeze the milk on the other side into the bottle. She said, "Leave it to Dahai."

They both went to the intensive care unit to see their son. The small Dahai slept with his fists clenched. He wore a white baby shirt like a white cloud, looking weak and cute.

Every day thereafter, Zhao Lanxiang and He Songbai frequently visit Dahai. They would look at him longingly through the transparent glass. Zhao Lanxiang stood outside the ward, and her tears shed subconsciously while watching him.

He Songbai said, "Don't cry when you are in confinement. It will ruin your body. Dahai... he will also get better."

Dahai stayed in the intensive care unit for two days before being transferred to the ordinary baby ward.

On the third day after Zhao Lanxiang's delivery, Sister He and Li Dali came.

They brought nutritional products and some baby things. Sister He held Tang Tang happily, but she turned around and saw her brother holding another one. She was pleasantly surprised.

She looked at Tang Tang for a while, then stared at Dahai again, and couldn't help but say, "They look really good."

"Tang Tang cried hard, and she must be a clever doll in the future."

"The nature of Dahai is gentle like a girl. He is so good. It makes me feel soft."

Zhao Lanxiang said thank you.

"I have to go back and tell Granny. If she knows that you have twins, her mouth will not stop smiling." Sister He said with a smile.

She held Tang Tang and Dahai for an afternoon. In the evening, she used the kitchen in the hospital to cook a pot of chicken soup for Zhao Lanxiang. After she finished it, she left the hospital reluctantly.
