Hu Gao, burdened with heavy thoughts, was led by three Dark Knights to the chieftain’s room. As soon as he stepped in, he was immediately greeted by a fragrant aroma. He glanced inside and then, his brain seemed to suffer from a lack of oxygen, causing a disruption in his neural transmission, and his legs remained outside for a long time, unable to move.

For the first time, Hu Gao felt that being transported to another world had its benefits. As a male engineering student, he rarely encountered girls in his daily life. With his limited literary skills, the woman before him could only be described as “a beauty that should only exist in heaven, rarely seen on earth.”

She had an excellent figure, graceful manners, expressive eyes, and a rosy face. Hu Gao used all the adjectives he could think of. The most wonderful thing was the hint of pride in her demeanor, making her a perfect blend of a classical and an icy beauty. Just one glance could lower a man’s IQ to its lowest point, and if he imagined any other forms of interaction, his IQ curve would immediately turn from a wave to a ray, dropping to zero.

“Cough, cough.” The chieftain, seeing Hu Gao’s expression, felt speechless. The original Qinggao was a somewhat shy child. “Lord Guardian, this is my daughter, Wushuang. The clan has already decided that after your arrival, you will marry her. What do you think, my lord?”

“Chieftain, the current Hu Gao is not...”

“Father, I don’t want to!”

The three Dark Knights and Hu Wushuang spoke in unison.

The chieftain’s brows furrowed. “Wushuang, don’t speak yet. Shadow, tell me what’s going on.”

Originally, Hu Wushuang, with her flushed face and excited demeanor, had to bite her lip and step back when she heard the chieftain’s tone. Hu Gao, standing opposite her, inadvertently showed a strange smile that only those who had been transported to another world could understand.

The Dark Knight who had carried Hu Gao stepped forward and said, “Report to the chieftain, according to the information from the Judgement Elder yesterday, the Lord Guardian is currently in a deep sleep. The current Hu Gao is in a very strange state, and he has even lost the memories of Qinggao.”

This information was significant. The chieftain pondered for a moment before saying, “During the ceremony, the Lord Guardian did mention he would fall into a deep sleep, but I didn’t expect another soul to exist within his body. This is indeed strange. Hu Gao, come forward, let me examine you.”

Although Hu Gao was extremely unwilling, he had no choice but to stretch his neck and let himself be examined.

“Everyone, close your eyes.”

The chieftain, one of the strongest in the Hu family, extended his right hand, and a bright light appeared in his palm. He gently pressed it against Hu Gao’s abdomen.

Hu Gao felt no discomfort, only a slight movement of the small jade pendant between his collarbones, followed by a cool sensation that slowly traveled up to his forehead and then disappeared.

After a moment, the chieftain released his hand, and the bright light vanished. “Alright, you can open your eyes now.”

“Chieftain, what’s the situation?” Shadow asked.

“Hu Yinxue, come in,” the chieftain shook his head and called out.

As soon as the chieftain spoke, a woman in colorful clothing, with her hair tied back, entered the room. “Chieftain, what do you need?”

“Go and gather the remaining elders in the Crimson Blood Hall. I’ll be there shortly.”

“Yes!” The woman bowed to the chieftain and slowly exited the room.

“Shadow, you and the others return to your positions.” The chieftain waved his hand.

“Yes, sir!” The three Dark Knights said in unison and left the room.

“Father, if he is truly the successor, that’s one thing, but now he’s just a soulless waste. Can you really bear to marry me to him?” Hu Wushuang, seeing everyone leave, spoke up first.

“Wushuang, show some respect!” the chieftain scolded.

“Ha ha.” Hu Gao spread his hands and laughed. “Chieftain, there’s no need to be so formal. I am indeed a waste who doesn’t even know who I am. But I want to ask the so-called top genius of the Hu family, Hu Wushuang, if you dare to make a bet with me?”

Hu Wushuang’s eyebrows arched slightly. For some reason, she felt that Hu Gao’s words were a bit strange. “A bet?”

“Yes, the bet is that in three months, I will defeat you honorably!”

“What?” Hu Wushuang’s eyes widened. She never thought Hu Gao would make such a request, but as a warrior, she couldn’t refuse such a challenge. “Alright, even though you have no memory, you still have the fighting spirit of the Hu family in your blood. I’ll give you this chance. If you can defeat me, I’ll marry you!”

“No! No! No! Wushuang, you misunderstand!” Hu Gao’s smile faded, and he said calmly, “My bet is simple. I just need you to say three words to me.”

Hu Wushuang’s face turned red with embarrassment. This Hu Gao was completely unpredictable, and she felt her emotions were about to spiral out of control. “Which three words?”

“Sor-ry!” Hu Gao said slowly.

“Ah!” Hu Wushuang almost spat out blood. “Fine, fine, fine!” She said three times in a row, “What if you lose?”

“As you wish!”

“You...!” Hu Wushuang felt her chest tighten, unable to speak. After a moment, she continued, “As you wish, Father, I’ll leave now. Hu Gao, see you in three months!” Hu Wushuang stormed out of the room.

“Wait!”

Hu Wushuang turned around, her anger mixed with a hint of confusion. Did this fool regret it?

“Your handkerchief!” Hu Gao smiled and picked up a pink handkerchief from the floor, handing it to her.

“I’ll give it to you!” Hu Wushuang, completely losing her composure, turned around again, remembering that the handkerchief was a personal item. She snatched it back from Hu Gao and ran out angrily.

Seeing his daughter flee in a state of disarray, the chieftain, who had been silent, did not get angry but laughed. “Hu Gao, I have high hopes for you. Three months is neither short nor long. I, this old man, am also curious to see how much you can grow. Come, let’s go to the council meeting. I’ll see what resources I can secure for you.”

“Thank you, Chieftain!” Hu Gao secretly breathed a sigh of relief. His series of actions had been like walking a tightrope!

In this unfamiliar world, he felt like he was playing a survival game in a room with no clues. The only guidance came from the countless web novels he had read in his dorm room, while all other knowledge was useless!

However, reality was not a romanticized novel, and the situations were much more complex. A single misstep could lead to his demise.

Hu Gao needed to buy time for his growth. If the family abandoned him as a waste, his future would be extremely difficult. A strange successor with no abilities and a family desperately in need of a savior—whose weight was greater? He knew he had made the right bet!

Hu Gao, who had been under constant mental strain, suddenly felt an urge to shout, “Another world, I, Old Hu, am here! Are you ready?”
