Chapter 6

In the Yuanxin area, Xiaohai casually found a small inn. As soon as he entered his room, he closed the door.

Xiaoqi was very dissatisfied and barked a few times at his master, as if reminding Xiaohai that he hadn't eaten dinner yet.

It seemed that you were so excited about getting the jade scorpion, but my stomach is still empty.

Unfortunately, it looked like Xiaohai hadn't even thought about dinner.

He sat on the bed and took out the jade scorpion. Immediately, the Dragon Spirit Pearl in his body reacted.

Xiaoqi also sensed something and leaped onto the bed, no longer thinking about his empty stomach, but instead lying next to Xiaohai.

Xiaohai took off his shirt and pressed the jade against his dantian. Instantly, he could feel the Dragon Spirit Pearl start to pulse.

A warm current began to form a small vortex at the point where his palm and the jade met. The spiritual energy from the jade was absorbed through this vortex by the Dragon Spirit Pearl, which then mixed with the essence of the grassland wolf it had previously absorbed. This mixture emitted a warm sensation that slowly flowed through Xiaohai's body, eventually concentrating in the Ren Meridian, continuously impacting this acupoint.

The essence of the grassland wolf had greatly helped in transforming Xiaohai's body, but with the addition of the jade's spiritual energy, it reached a whole new level.

The energy flow continuously impacted the Ren Meridian, which held its ground. However, under the control of the Dragon Spirit Pearl, the energy flow grew stronger, and the Ren Meridian was on the verge of being broken through.

In Xiaohai's chest, something seemed to be preparing to break free.

At this moment, a red glow appeared on Xiaohai's body. However, he didn't notice it, as he was focused on the struggle between the Dragon Spirit Pearl and the Ren Meridian.

Xiaoqi, on the other hand, clung tightly to Xiaohai, motionless. This little dog, who always liked to take advantage of his master, knew very well the benefits of the red glow emanating from Xiaohai's body.

The energy flow from the Dragon Spirit Pearl grew stronger, and the red glow on Xiaohai's body became more pronounced. Even Xiaoqi's body began to undergo changes.

But at this moment, the Dragon Spirit Pearl mysteriously stopped pulsing, and the energy flow and the red glow on Xiaohai's body disappeared instantly.

What a pity!

Xiaohai opened his eyes and immediately understood what had happened: the spiritual energy from the jade scorpion had been completely absorbed, and it was not enough to help the Dragon Spirit Pearl break through the Ren Meridian.

However, the strength of the spiritual energy from this small jade scorpion had far exceeded Xiaohai's expectations. If he had another piece of jade like this, he might have been able to help the Dragon Spirit Pearl break through to the first level and reach the "Heart Spirit Pearl" stage tonight.

The jade scorpion became dull and lifeless, having lost all its spiritual energy.

Xiaohai thought for a moment and decided to wear it around his neck. Although it hadn't helped him break through, it was the first piece of jade he had used in his cultivation of the Dragon Spirit Pearl, and it had some sentimental value.

When the jade scorpion touched his skin, it felt icy cold, but the cold sensation quickly disappeared...

"Xiaoqi, get off me, why do you always like to stick to me?" Xiaohai only noticed that Xiaoqi had pressed his dog head tightly against his waist at this moment.

"Just a little more..."

Suddenly, Xiaohai seemed to hear a voice in his head.

"Who!" Xiaohai was startled.

"Help me, Master, just a little more..." The voice sounded again, but it was very weak.

Xiaohai was really scared. He suddenly noticed that Xiaoqi was looking at him, and his dog eyes seemed to be conveying some information.

Did he hear wrong, or was Xiaoqi talking to him?

He suddenly remembered that one of the special abilities of the Dragon Spirit Pearl was to help him control animals, and a crucial part of controlling and communicating with animals was to activate their "spiritual intelligence."

Every animal has spiritual intelligence. Humans are the most advanced species because their spiritual intelligence is activated from birth.

Some animals, like chimpanzees, are very close to humans, and their spiritual intelligence is slightly activated, allowing them to mimic many human actions and habits.

What about Xiaoqi? Could it be that Xiaoqi had gained a lot from Xiaohai and was about to activate his spiritual intelligence?

Xiaohai decided to try. He commanded the dormant Dragon Spirit Pearl to become active again and focused a thread of spiritual energy on his right index finger.

Damn, where should I point? Logically, it should be the Baihui point, but do dogs have a Baihui point?

Xiaohai didn't care about that. He pressed his finger on the midpoint of the line connecting the top of Xiaoqi's head and the tips of his ears, and channeled the thread of spiritual energy into it.

Xiaoqi didn't move. When the spiritual energy was fully absorbed, Xiaohai heard the voice in his head again:

"Wow, you're so smart, Master. If you hadn't helped me activate my spiritual intelligence, my efforts would have been in vain."

Xiaohai instantly understood that the thread of spiritual energy he had just channeled had helped Xiaoqi activate his spiritual intelligence. Although Xiaoqi still couldn't speak human language, he could now communicate with Xiaohai through his mind.

This was too incredible. How many more miracles could cultivating the Dragon Spirit Pearl bring?

"You little Xiaoqi, how much have you gained from me?" Xiaohai began to try communicating with Xiaoqi through his mind.

"Not as much as you... You eat the meat, I drink the soup. Well, I'll move around. Master, don't look at me, I'm small, but I feel my strength and agility have increased. If I encounter that wolf again, I might be able to defeat it."

"Keep bragging." Although he said that, Xiaohai believed that Xiaoqi had undergone a transformation.

He knew that once an animal, no matter how weak, swallowed the Dragon Spirit Pearl and activated its spiritual intelligence, it could also cultivate, and the first level of cultivation would grant it the strength of a wolf.

However, for a low-level animal to activate its spiritual intelligence, it needed a special encounter, which was almost impossible.

It seemed that while Xiaohai was cultivating the Dragon Spirit Pearl, Xiaoqi had gained the strength of a wolf through the spiritual energy he had absorbed from Xiaohai's body.

I curse you, you stinky dog. I'm still struggling to break through the first level, and you, the dead dog, have already made rapid progress.

Hmm? If a dog with the strength of a wolf is made into a dog meat stew, would it taste better?

The poor Xiaoqi would never have dreamed that he, the world's first dog to activate his spiritual intelligence and gain wisdom, had become a dog meat stew in the eyes of the despicable Xiaohai.

At this moment, a series of barks came from outside.

"Can you have a little decency? It's late, and you're not letting people rest?" Xiaohai couldn't help but curse. "Xiaoqi, you've activated your spiritual intelligence, you're the king of dogs. Go out and manage your family."

Screw you, you're the king of dogs, Xiaoqi grumbled in dissatisfaction.
