Chapter 46: Mind and Body Worn Out

Qiao Sang carried Huoyagou and ran for two blocks before stopping.

Huoyagou looked up at its tamer with a puzzled expression.

"We're changing the training ground," Qiao Sang said, panting.

...

At an open pet training ground five kilometers away.

Qiao Sang opened the panel.

【Name: Huoyagou】

【Attribute: Fire】

【Level: Beginner (152/1000) +】

【Skills: Bite (Beginner 74/100) +, Tackle (Proficient 334/500) +, Fire Fang (Intermediate 539/2000) +, Ember (Intermediate 659/2000) +, Shadow Clone (Beginner 42/100) +, Flame Whirl (Beginner 1/100) +】

【Points: 109】

Huoyagou's panel had changed significantly from before.

Both Fire Fang and Ember had reached the intermediate stage.

It's worth noting that even a low-level skill like Ember would take about half a year to go from proficient to intermediate, but Huoyagou had achieved the intermediate stage in just about two weeks.

Not to mention Fire Fang.

As a mid-level skill, it would take a considerable amount of time to improve proficiency.

Normally, it would take at least a year for a mid-level skill to go from proficient to intermediate, but Huoyagou had achieved what others would take a year to reach in less than half a month.

Qiao Sang didn't linger on the other data, as she had been paying attention to the updates every night before going to bed.

She had already known about the improvement in the proficiency of Ember and Fire Fang.

【Flame Whirl (Beginner 1/100) +】

Qiao Sang's gaze immediately fell on the new data, which wasn't there last night.

Sure enough, a new skill had been acquired!

Qiao Sang was a bit excited. Huoyagou was fundamentally different from other pet beasts.

Other pet beasts might not always be able to release a new skill they had just learned.

However, once Huoyagou learned a skill and released it once, it could always release it accurately the next time.

Like Fire Fang and Shadow Clone.

It seemed that her idea of feeding Huoyagou super spicy wings was correct!

Qiao Sang affirmed herself and exited the tamer's manual.

"Huoyagou, release Flame Whirl five times," Qiao Sang said.

"Ya?"

Huoyagou tilted its head.

"The skill you just learned from eating the wings," Qiao Sang explained.

Huoyagou understood. It recalled the feeling of the flames surging inside its body.

Opening its mouth, a scorching flame began to spin on the open ground.

Soon, the five Flame Whirls were released.

"Ya!"

Huoyagou wagged its tail, staring at its tamer with particularly bright eyes.

"Great job," Qiao Sang praised, pretending not to understand Huoyagou's meaning, "Are you tired? Let's go home."

Today's skill development experiment was very successful, and Flame Whirl had a 100% success rate, just as she had expected.

Now she needed to hurry home and think about how to make money.

Qiao Sang turned to leave, but her right foot felt heavy.

Looking down, she saw that Huoyagou was biting her pant leg.

"Ya ya!"

"Ya ya!"

Seeing its tamer stop, Huoyagou quickly let go and gestured with its paws.

It didn't want to go home!

It hadn't learned Meteor Shower yet!

Qiao Sang: "..."

What to do when your pet is too serious...

Qiao Sang squatted down to explain, "You just learned a new skill, which is already great. Everything takes time. We'll practice Meteor Shower next time."

She needed to quickly persuade Huoyagou to leave. Even if they stayed here all night, they wouldn't make any progress with Meteor Shower.

If a high-level skill could be mastered so quickly, it wouldn't be a high-level skill.

Meteor Shower being classified as a high-level skill meant that its power and difficulty were on par.

"Ya!"

Huoyagou took a step back and shook its head.

It wanted to practice Meteor Shower!

Its tamer was too unmotivated. After just a short practice session and learning a small skill, she was already satisfied and wanted to go home.

This wouldn't do!

It was Huoyagou, the one who aimed to be the best in the world!

Qiao Sang, feeling helpless, handed over the already cooled spicy wings.

What could she do with Huoyagou's determination?

Of course, she had to stay with it.

Huoyagou stiffened, forcing itself to take a bite of the spicy wings.

The next second.

"Ya!!!"

...

Qingcheng Jia Yuan.

7:30 PM.

Huoyagou lay weakly on the sofa, looking listless.

"Jiu~"

The fat pigeon worriedly nudged it with its head.

"Is Huoyagou okay?" the mother asked.

"It's fine, just a bit worn out," Qiao Sang replied.

Mother: "..."

Is this called "fine"?!

Qiao Sang sat cross-legged, watching TV.

To practice Meteor Shower, Huoyagou had eaten six super spicy wings, but she only had three bottles of Qi Yuan milk left.

Even if Huoyagou could endure the spiciness, the intense release of flames far exceeded its replenishment.

She could only buy seven or eight bottles of water for it to drink.

After a whole afternoon of effort, Huoyagou's throat was so sore and hoarse that it couldn't even speak, and it still hadn't made any progress with Meteor Shower.

Although it hadn't learned Meteor Shower, the proficiency of Flame Whirl had increased by 45 points.

Huoyagou was now completely drained.

Qiao Sang watched helplessly from the side.

Huoyagou was stubborn. If she stopped it from practicing, it wouldn't listen. She could only let it try and eventually give up.

As its tamer, all she could do was not interfere.

"The room is tidy. You can now explain why you need to take two weeks off," the mother said.

Qiao Sang immediately snapped out of her thoughts and carefully said, "I already told you, to train Huoyagou. How else can we get the top special admission to Shengshui High School, right, Huoyagou?"

"Ya."

Huoyagou responded with a hoarse voice.

The mother glanced at Qiao Sang and then went to the kitchen to pour a glass of water, gently saying to Huoyagou, "Drink some water first."

Qiao Sang: "..."

Why did the mother's gaze seem to blame her for not taking good care of Huoyagou...

Fortunately, the mother didn't say anything more, probably considering that Qiao Sang had tidied the room and was admitted to Shengshui High School...

Qiao Sang breathed a sigh of relief.

The TV was showing an advertisement for GG.

It was about the registration time and competition venue for F-class tamer in Hanggang City on June 30th.

When the screen showed the rewards for the top three, Qiao Sang leaned forward.

Third place: A new Moonlight motorcycle model BD-7800 and 50,000 Alliance coins.

Second place: A water-type evolution stone and 100,000 Alliance coins.

First place: A random pet egg and 200,000 Alliance coins.

Qiao Sang's breathing quickened.

The reward for first place was like it was tailor-made for her!

Whether it was a pet egg or Alliance coins, she needed both!

Before Qiao Sang could remember the registration website, the mother had already changed the channel.

"Mom!"

Qiao Sang couldn't help but call out.

She stared at the TV, wanting to ask her mother to change the channel back, but her voice trailed off.

The screen showed a woman in a business suit reporting the news.

"At 1:23 PM today, an incident of malicious damage to the wall of a building occurred on Jiangyi Street..."
