Chapter 50 of 100

Chapter 50: Words on Going VIP

3 min read800 words

I want to ramble a bit.

First, let me introduce myself. I'm a lazy person and a severe procrastinator.

The reason I started writing this story is that I recently got into reading beast taming stories and wanted to find a female-oriented one, but there were very few, and most had rather old-fashioned settings, so I decided to write one myself.

I've been watching Pokémon from the Kanto region to the Kalos region, so writing about beast taming shouldn't be a problem…

Although I knew that there aren't many readers in the female-oriented section, I still decided to write a story with a female protagonist and post it there.

After all, I'm a girl…

As a new writer, I posted the first two chapters on a whim, with no stockpile of chapters. When I had written over ten thousand words, I got a contract, and I was very happy…

Later, I realized that being signed or not didn't make much difference; there were still very few readers. Since it's the female-oriented section, I had already prepared myself for this, so I just let myself go and updated every two days…

After letting myself go for half a month, the trial promotion came. The editor asked me to keep updating during the trial promotion, and I, of course, agreed, as it was my first promotion.

Although I didn't know why my first release on Qidian would be promoted on QQ Reading…

But my first monthly ticket and the first long review were from QQ Reading readers, and I was very excited. I impulsively promised not to stop updating or abandon the story…

Later, I thought that as a lazy person, I might occasionally stop updating…

As a lazy person, I don't have much of a stockpile of chapters. I often start writing late and then get distracted by my phone or eating…

After the trial promotion, I had to keep updating for the next round of recommendations…

But at that time, I had readers who would comment and vote, which made me more motivated to write, so I often finished updates by around six in the evening during that period.

Actually, I thought about taking a day off many times…

Because I feel most comfortable updating every two days…

But because people were voting and commenting every day, I kept going.

At first, I would excitedly reply to every comment, but now I don't, for fear of being urged to update…

Although the number of readers in the female-oriented section isn't large, for me, it's already great to have people leaving comments every day, compared to the initial days when it felt like I was writing for myself.

Regarding going VIP, the editor told me two days ago that it would be on May 23rd…

I felt it was too soon, as I have no stockpile of chapters, and going VIP usually means a burst of updates…

I procrastinated until the 22nd and still haven't started stockpiling chapters.

But don't worry, I've decided to drink coffee and write more tomorrow…

Also…

New authors usually write two chapters a day when they go VIP, mostly because of the full attendance award.

But since I stopped updating five times between signing the contract and going VIP, during the period when I was updating every two days before the recommendations, I won't get the full attendance award even if I write two chapters a day after going VIP.

I only found out later…

While I'm a bit sad, I'm also a bit relieved, as it gives me an excuse not to write two chapters every day…

I know the number of readers will drop sharply after going VIP, but that's okay; I won't abandon the story!

If the performance is good, I'll try to stockpile some chapters and burst update.

If the performance isn't good, I'll still update steadily and won't abandon the story, even if the updates are fewer, as it's the effort of a lazy person…

I really want to thank the readers who have been reading and commenting every day, but I think it's not appropriate to list them in the VIP announcement. I'll thank everyone properly next time…

Here, I'll answer a question that many of you might be concerned about: whether there will be a male lead.

I like reading romantic stories with deep, tragic love…

If I write it, I might not be able to resist giving them a dramatic, tragic love story, which doesn't fit the tone of this book, so I probably won't write a male lead.

Finally, I'm asking for your support on the first day of going VIP, as the chapters on the 23rd were written while I was drinking coffee…

That's it.

The VIP announcement is perfect…
