"Shut up."
Before he could finish his sentence, a powerful fist struck him in the face, sending him flying across the room. The entire class fell silent, shocked by the sudden turn of events.
"Jung Daewon," Yu Seong said, his voice cold and steady. "If you want to pick a fight, pick someone your own size."
He turned to me, his expression softening slightly. "And you, Da Yong. I know you're not a half-demon. Let's not make things worse."
I nodded, grateful for his support. The tension in the room slowly dissipated as students returned to their seats, whispering among themselves.
As I made my way to my desk, I couldn't help but feel a mix of relief and unease. The incident with Ma Donghoon had been a close call, but Yu Seong's intervention had saved me from a potential disaster. However, the underlying suspicion and hostility from my classmates remained, and I knew I had to be more careful from now on.
Just then, the door to the classroom opened, and our homeroom teacher, Mr. Im Mansu, walked in. The class immediately fell silent, and I took my seat, hoping that the teacher would clear things up and put an end to the rumors.
Mr. Im Mansu scanned the room, his gaze lingering on me for a moment before he began the class. "I understand there's been some talk about what happened during the first period. I want to make it clear that the student in question, Kang Daewon, is not a half-demon. He has been cleared of any wrongdoing and will be returning to his normal classes."
A murmur of surprise and relief rippled through the class. I felt a weight lift off my shoulders, but I knew the road to regaining my classmates' trust would be a long one.
As the class resumed, I focused on the lesson, determined to move forward and prove that I was not the monster they thought I was.
