"By the way, Rina..."
"Uh-huh?"
"Have you ever cooked before...?"
The head maid, Rana, asked, wondering what she was getting at.
"I have. I like cooking."
More interested in food than romance, she never missed a cooking show and enjoyed both making and eating food. She especially liked watching the process of making sweets.
"...I should mention, I've been like this since before my figure changed!"
"Then, would you like to try making something?"
"Wh-what?"
Rana's unexpected suggestion left her surprised. She had said they could make it themselves, but she hadn't really thought about it.
"I'm not sure if we have the same ingredients, but we have plenty of materials. Even if something is missing, I'm sure you can make something."
"Is that okay?"
Rina looked around as if seeking permission. She was not just a newcomer but also a suspicious person.
Would they really lend the kitchen to someone like her...?
"It's fine. In fact, I'm interested in the cuisine of other countries," the head chef, a man, said with a smile.
The others seemed to nod in agreement, showing their keen interest.
They seem really interested.
Well, that makes sense. It's not just another country... it's practically another world.
"Hmm. I'll have to see what ingredients you have, but I might give it a try."
Rina nodded. She wasn't sure what ingredients they had, but from what she had eaten so far, most of them seemed similar to those in her world, even if the names were different.
If I "appraise" them, I should be able to figure it out.
By the way, my "appraisal"... it always shows whether something is "edible" or "inedible."
For example, this refrigerator...
【Refrigerator】
【Purpose】
A container powered by an ice magic stone.
Primarily used for storing and cooling food.
【Other Notes】
Not edible.
"Not edible"
Are you kidding me?!
No matter how much of a foodie I am, I'm not going to eat a refrigerator!!
This world is definitely making fun of me...
Damn it!!
Rina quietly yelled at the refrigerator.
"So, how about it? Can you make something?"
Rana asked as Rina finished looking around the kitchen.
"I can make a lot of things."
There were fewer leafy vegetables, but plenty of root vegetables.
There was cheese, butter, fresh milk, and dairy products.
No beef or pork, but there was chicken.
No soy sauce or miso, but there was salt, sugar, and vinegar, which were quite well-stocked.
Impressive for a royal palace. Japanese cuisine would be difficult, but Western cuisine should be quite doable.
"Can you really cook...? You can't cook, can you?"
A voice cut through her excitement, clearly doubting her.
"I'm not as good as a pro, but I can cook."
"Can you make something edible?"
"Hey, that's rude! Prince Egilier?"
She deliberately mispronounced his name.
Not that she had remembered it in the first place.
"Not as bad as you," Prince Egiliderus said, laughing in exasperation.
The prince himself was enjoying this silly exchange.
However, the kitchen staff, who were seeing this for the first time, were stunned.
Even though he was a young boy, he was the "prince" of this country.
They were shocked that Rina not only didn't use polite language with him but also spoke to him so rudely.
What kind of girl is she!?
And so, without realizing it, Rina was beginning to be regarded with a certain level of respect.
