"Rina, can you make sweets too?"

Prince Egiedilus, who was now very interested, was a stark contrast to his previous attitude of looking down on her.

"I can make them."

She loved making and watching sweets being made. Making cakes was incredibly fun, and mixing cream and decorating were super enjoyable and interesting.

"You... can make anything, can't you?"

He said this with a look of admiration, clearly not expecting that she could make sweets.

"Because I like making them."

Even so, she only liked making her favorite things when she wanted to, not like the cooks here who made large quantities every day.

"Alright! Let's make French toast!"

After opening the refrigerator and thinking for a moment, Rina nodded firmly.

Milk, butter, sugar... and most importantly, there was some hard bread left over. It would be a waste not to use it.

Even though it could be stored in a magic bag, hard bread was still hard.

"What's that?" Prince Egiedilus, who was completely confused, asked.

"Sweet bread."

"...Sweet... bread?"

"Right... Rick, could you please slice the usual bread into rounds?"

Rina asked Rick to slice the hard bread that was almost always served at meals. It was bound to be left over.

"...Even I, who made it, don't think Prince Schuel will eat it..."

"Probably not as it is, but if he likes sweets, he might eat it."

Most importantly, it was a sweet from another world. He would surely be interested.

"Well, if he doesn't eat it, I'll eat it myself."

"I'll eat it too," Monica, who was standing behind her, smiled.

For some reason, Rina could only see Monica as a hyena.

Rina, feeling an unusual heat and gaze, worked efficiently.

"Are you going to soak the bread?"

Rina mixed eggs, sugar, and milk in a bowl and started dipping the hard bread slices that Rick had cut.

French toast can be quite delicious even if the mixture is made casually, especially with experience and skill. Rina, however, was unaware of her own expertise.

"Yeah, soak and then bake it."

"Baking bread that's already baked? Won't it be too hard?"

"On the contrary, it will be fluffy."

When you bite into it, the sweet custard mixture will spread in your mouth. Adding honey or ice cream on top makes it even better.

"Really?"

Prince Egiedilus was surprised. The idea of baking hard bread further might have been foreign to him.

"Next..."

Her mood lifted as she hadn't made sweets in a while.

"Do you have heat-resistant glasses or cups?"

Since the ingredients were the same, she decided to make custard as well and prepared another bowl.

"Will these do?"

Rick brought out heat-resistant glasses.

"Thank you..."

Rina was speechless when she saw them.

"I'm not making that many, you know?"

There were glasses for everyone.

Why does it feel like I have to make enough for everyone...?

Isn't that a bit greedy?

"Wha...?"

There were surprised voices here and there. Why did they think they would get any?

"Hey... these are for Prince Schuel and the others!"

Rina made sure to say it firmly. Don't think you can get more just because you got some earlier.

"..."

A very disappointed atmosphere emanated from behind her. She shouldn't look.

"Besides, sugar... isn't it something commoners shouldn't eat so easily?"

I put it in my tea, you know!

"......"

Everyone fell silent.

Indeed, sugar seemed to be a luxury item. After all, they learned in school that "pepper" and "sugar" were expensive. Even though this world wasn't exactly medieval Europe, it had many similarities, so the possibility...

Hey... can you stop being so silent? Prince Egiedilus is a bit scared of the unusual atmosphere.
