Chapter 97

As everyone voted according to their preferences, Rina decided to make the "strongest" bread.

Well, it's just really delicious, so it's the strongest, and she wasn't going to do anything special. She found something unusual in the fridge just now, so she decided to use it. It was "bacon," which is rare in this country.

First, she took out the bread she had baked earlier and cut it diagonally into five equal parts. She sliced the bacon from the fridge and then cut it into bite-sized pieces. Otherwise, if it was too big, it would stretch and be hard to eat. She generously topped the cut bread with cheese and then added the bacon on top.

Then, she lightly baked it in the oven, and it was done. It was simple but delicious. If she were to serve it to King Felix, a sprinkle of black pepper at the end would add a nice kick.

"…Ed, it's ready."

She placed the baked cheese bread on a plate and set it down with a clatter in front of Prince Egilith. Everyone gathered around, hoping to get some.

"Should I eat it first while you all wait?"

As she said this, the sound of everyone swallowing hard was audible. Rina, being very much at her own pace, started eating her share.

"Hot. Huff… delicious."

Everyone's eyes were on Rina as she ate without a care, making them swallow even harder. The cheese was stretchy, the bacon was crispy, and the flavor was rich. The bacon, which she hadn't had in a long time, was the best.

"…What's with this bacon? Did you raise a pig?"

While it's not good to ask before trying it, she had permission, so it was fine, right?

Most of the meat they had was "chicken," and according to Prince Egilith, it seemed like they didn't have pigs, so she had given up on it. That's why it was even more delicious.

"A little… Yeah, they import it too… But, your mental strength is really something else…"

How could she eat so calmly with everyone watching her so closely?

"Because, Ed, if you don't eat it while it's hot, the cheese will get hard and it won't be as delicious."

"…You're right!"

Prince Egilith, ignoring the gazes and focusing on the delicious food, started eating as well.

"Mmm~ The cheese… stretches~"

The cheese, generously topped, stretched like a bridge from her mouth to the bread. But she seemed to be enjoying even that.

"Rina~ The voting is over."

A voice was heard, seemingly from nowhere.

While Rina and the others were savoring the cheese bread, the "person you want to feed" voting had apparently ended. Who would get to eat it?

"Wait until I finish eating."

Why couldn't they let her enjoy her bread in peace?

"Hurry, hurry~!!"

Anna urged Rina. Probably because the break was about to end.

But it didn't matter to Rina, so she continued to eat at her own pace, munching away.
