Chapter 24

The sudden rush of the wind brought a fierce gale, and the two Qin soldiers at the rear, who had just heard the commotion, had only slightly turned their bodies when the blood from their necks spurted out like arrows. Their heads flew high, while their bodies continued to turn, their swords half-drawn, before they finally fell to the ground with a thud.

Qin Feng darted forward, and after a successful strike, his left fist was already on its way out.

These Qin soldiers, ordered to patrol, were not weak. Among the five, the weakest was at least a fourth-level warrior. However, compared to Qin Feng, they were clearly lacking. When he launched his surprise attack, the two rear Qin soldiers hardly made any effective response.

When the third Qin soldier turned around, he saw the heads of his two comrades flying high and the blood spraying out. The blood splattered all over his face, and before he could dodge, he roared and punched forward. Fist against fist, a cracking sound followed, and the Qin soldier groaned in pain. His finger bones, palm bones, and wrist bones shattered as if struck by a heavy hammer. The bones in his forearm protruded from his elbow, and his shoulder blade snapped in two. However, his opponent's fist did not stop; it continued forward and struck his chest with a dull thud.

His body flew backward like a ball, crashing into a tree trunk. The green leaves on the tree rustled and fell, and amidst the floating leaves, the Qin soldier lay on the ground like a leather bag, lifeless.

After killing three soldiers, the two remaining Qin soldiers, including the officer surnamed Deng, finally reacted. They rushed forward a few steps, drew their swords, turned, and saw Qin Feng in black clothes, his sword dripping with blood, while the bodies of his three comrades lay on the ground.

"Who are you?" the officer surnamed Deng asked, his voice trembling. The strength displayed by his opponent far exceeded his imagination. Where did this person come from?

"Chu national?"

He was greatly puzzled. The skilled soldiers in the Chu army were either annihilated with their army, or the remaining few were protecting Princess Zhao Hua, fleeing for their lives, pursued relentlessly by General Li. Where did this person come from?

"Death Corps, Qin Feng!" Qin Feng answered simply, secretly regulating his slightly agitated internal energy. He had used his full strength just now. If he couldn't take out a few opponents in one move, he would be in trouble. It was clear that these people were not amateurs.

"How is that possible?" the officer surnamed Deng shouted, "How can you be here? Bian Zheng didn't..."

He suddenly stopped. If Qin Feng was here, then Bian Zheng's fate was clear. Cold sweat poured down his back. He knew Bian Zheng's martial arts, and Bian Zheng was far more skilled than he was.

Qin Feng grinned, "It seems your companion was right; you know a lot. I've come to the right person."

Hearing Qin Feng's words, the officer surnamed Deng's face was drenched in sweat. He stared at Qin Feng, "Qin Feng, your Chu people are finished. Tens of thousands of troops have been annihilated. If you surrender to our Great Qin now, you might live. Otherwise, you will die sooner or later."

Although he was afraid, the officer surnamed Deng did not want to give up the possibility of survival.

Qin Feng smiled coldly and took a step forward, "Too much talk."

The two Qin soldiers exchanged glances. To the western border army of Great Qin, Qin Feng was a nightmare. They never expected to encounter such a killing star here. To survive, they had to fight for their lives.

Without another word, the two attacked from either side, their swords flashing.

The sword light flickered, and Qin Feng's strike was the fastest. His sword slashed at the officer surnamed Deng, the sharp blade making it hard for him to breathe even before it reached him. He roared and raised his sword to block. He didn't aim to stop the enemy, just to hold him off for a moment so his comrade could come to his aid.

But his block was in vain. Qin Feng's iron sword turned strangely in mid-air, and the sword light in front of the officer surnamed Deng suddenly disappeared. His block was empty, and he felt helpless.

Qin Feng's sword tip flashed past the Qin soldier attacking from the left, splitting his leather armor and his inner clothes, and slicing open his belly.

Guts spilling out, the Qin soldier didn't even see Qin Feng's sword clearly before he was killed.

With a successful strike, the sword light did not pause in the air but drew a half-circle and slashed at the officer surnamed Deng again.

A few cracking sounds, and the officer surnamed Deng's sword broke into pieces, falling to the ground. Before he could retreat, he felt a cold blade at his neck.

"Move and you die!" a cold voice said. The officer surnamed Deng froze.

A sharp pain in his stomach, he bent over like a shrimp, curling up on the ground. Qin Feng slowly retracted his fist and the blade from the officer's neck, coldly watching the spasming opponent on the ground.

This blow destroyed the officer surnamed Deng's vital points, nullifying his internal energy. Those who had been on the battlefield never knew what it meant to show mercy. Their creed was to do everything possible to ensure their enemies could never fight back, for even a cat could sometimes bring down a lion.

Only the dead were truly safe. If Qin Feng didn't need information from this officer, his head would have been separated from his body long ago.

Qin Feng squatted down, grabbed the officer's hair, and pulled his head up to face him. The officer surnamed Deng's mouth and nose were full of blood, and his eyes glared at Qin Feng like a wolf. At this moment, he was in unbearable pain, with no hope of survival. Even if he somehow survived, what use would he be with his internal energy destroyed?

"Tell me what I want to know," Qin Feng said.

The officer surnamed Deng suddenly laughed, spitting out blood as he spoke, "I die if I tell you, and I die if I don't. Why should I tell you?"

"Death is certain," Qin Feng sneered, "but there are many ways to die. I think you would want to die quickly, but that depends on my mood. I can make you die very, very slowly."

"Spit!" The officer surnamed Deng spat out a mouthful of blood, "Whether I die quickly or slowly, what difference does it make? Come on, do your worst. Will you cut me into pieces or break my bones one by one? I can take it."

Qin Feng laughed, "You're a tough one, but I've seen tougher." He looked around, "In this deep forest, there are all sorts of strange creatures. You're now as weak as a chicken. I could skin you like a pig, make some cuts on your body, and add some seasoning. I'm sure the ants and other insects will come in droves to feast on your flesh. They'll crawl in and out of your wounds, licking your blood and flesh. It might not hurt, but it will certainly be itchy."

The officer surnamed Deng's face showed fear.

"Or, I could catch a few rats, put them in your pants, and tie up your waist and legs, letting them make a home inside you."

"Stop!" the officer surnamed Deng shouted.

Qin Feng ignored him, sitting down and speaking slowly, "I could catch a few snakes, not too thick, and force them into your mouth. They'll crawl around, and I wonder if they'll come out of your nose?"

Qin Feng's voice was icy cold, and the officer surnamed Deng fainted from fear.

Looking at the unconscious man, Qin Feng shook his head, "So easily scared, and you pretend to be a hero?" He poked the man, who trembled and slowly woke up, looking at Qin Feng in terror, "You're not human, you're a devil."

"Now you have a choice. Tell me what I want to know, or choose one of the other paths. I have all the time in the world to play with you."

"I'll tell you, ask me anything, and I'll tell you. Just give me a quick death," the officer surnamed Deng said in despair.

"Good, that's the right attitude. You're surnamed Deng, and from what the soldier said, you have an uncle with a high position in the Qin border army. There's a general in the Qin army surnamed Deng, and that's your uncle, right?"

"Yes!"

"Great, so you do know a lot that others don't. How did you know about our Chu army's plan this time?" Qin Feng asked.

"I really don't know. Even if I asked, my uncle wouldn't tell me. I only know that a month ago, the Thunder Corps suddenly dispersed and entered the Luoying Mountains without gathering in our border army. They went directly into the Luoying Mountains."

"A month ago, they started preparing!" Qin Feng sighed inwardly. It was clear that this was a huge trap, planned long ago. This must involve a high-ranking official in the Chu court colluding with the enemy, far beyond the capabilities of a mere military official.
