The Western Qin Thunder Army had set up a grand formation, even planting their commander's flag at the foot of Maor Mountain. The over two thousand men on the mountain, ready to fight to the death, gripped their weapons tightly, awaiting the impending assault. However, nothing happened, and the eerie silence began to seep in.
Wild Dog couldn't stand it. He had someone help him prop up his head, which was still tightly bound. His eyes were sharp, and he managed to see two people sitting on the ground under the enemy's commander's flag, engaged in a calm conversation.
"Damn, this is really torturing us!" he muttered under his breath.
Death was not scary; waiting to die was the most terrifying thing. Not just Wild Dog, but Scissors, Monk, Zhang Xiaomao, and Shuchang all exchanged uneasy glances.
Time ticked by, and the sun was almost at its zenith. The two people below seemed to have finished their conversation, and then a Western Qin officer, unarmed, began walking towards Maor Mountain.
"Is he here to persuade us to surrender?" Zhang Xiaomao asked Shuchang, "If so, what should I do? Should I die a glorious death or just give in and be a coward?"
Shuchang laughed, "You already know the answer, why ask me?"
"I just feel bad for dragging you into this," Zhang Xiaomao sighed, "I want to surrender, but I'm afraid Qin Lao Da will chase me down and cut me to pieces later!"
They looked at each other and laughed.
Wild Dog was still bound like a dumpling, making it difficult for him to sit up, but now two soldiers were holding him up in front of the Western Qin officer.
The Western Qin officer delivering the message was young. When he stepped onto the daredevil camp's position, his expression was still arrogant. However, upon seeing Wild Dog's condition, his face first showed surprise, then unmasked admiration. As a fellow soldier, he respected the toughness and determination of someone who could still stand on the front line despite such injuries.

"This is a personal letter from our Commander Bian to your Captain Qin," the young officer said, presenting the letter with both hands.
The opponent was very polite. Although Wild Dog wanted to spit in the guy's face and kick him down the hill, he couldn't hit a smiling face. With a forced smile, which looked hideous but was genuinely meant by Wild Dog (if it looked bad, it was because of his injuries), he nodded to a soldier to take the letter.
"Alright, we've got the letter. You can go now," Wild Dog grunted.
The Western Qin officer was taken aback, "Doesn't Captain Qin need to send a reply to our Commander Bian?"
Wild Dog stiffened. Who knew where Qin Lao Da was? How could they reply? He coughed and gave another nod, and a quick-witted soldier ran up the mountain with the letter. With the enemy at their doorstep, they couldn't let the opponent know their highest commander was absent.
"Qin Feng, you owe me one," Zhang Xiaomao said, tapping the letter and reading the bold signature of Bian Wushuang, "It's even sealed with a private seal. Doctor Shu, what do you think this means?"
"It means we've been given a second chance," Shuchang laughed. "They won't attack us. I didn't think Qin Feng had such clout."
"Now what? They're waiting for Qin Lao Da's reply. Should we forge one?" Zhang Xiaomao shrugged.
"Absolutely not!" Shuchang shook his head. "Bian Wushuang can write to Qin Feng, but Qin Feng can't reply, or it will be evidence of treason. Just tell that Western Qin officer, 'Understood.'"
The soldier blinked, "Doctor Shu, what three words? I don't know them!"
"You idiot, just say 'Understood,'" Zhang Xiaomao smacked the soldier's forehead, feeling relieved that the Western Qin didn't want to fight and they had a second chance.
"Understood? That's it?" The Western Qin officer was skeptical. To him, it was a huge honor for the high-ranking Commander Bian to write to a mere captain, and the other side's lack of enthusiasm seemed suicidal.
"Still here? Our answer is 'Understood.' Do you understand 'Understood'? Forget it, you probably don't, but your Commander Bian will. Just tell him that."
The Western Qin officer wondered if those three words held some deep meaning he didn't understand. The fact that a large army was gathered here but not attacking was already unusual.
"Understood!" Hearing the message, Bian Wushuang was momentarily stunned, then burst into laughter, "What a character."
Zhang Xiaomao and Shuchang were not complex people. They didn't know that the three words they blurted out would be interpreted differently by Bian Wushuang. If Bian Wushuang knew Qin Feng wasn't there and the reply wasn't from him, he might have been furious, as it would be like talking to a cow. The two sides were not on the same page.
The Thunder Army left, leaving only a guard post at the foot of Maor Mountain to monitor the daredevil camp. Zhang Xiaomao and his men naturally wouldn't be foolish enough to go down the mountain to seek death. They held their position, still having the strength to resist. Going down would be like a longevity god hanging himself, asking for a shorter life.
