He Xun leaned in very closely when he spoke these words and his bedroom eyes seemed to twinkle. The heat of his warm breath flushed over her face and the heated temperature of her body rose little by little. With his breath everywhere, Peijin’s face couldn’t help but warm up.

(1) AKA peach blossom eyes.

When He Xun said, “As long as I have my brothers it’s enough. Right, brother?” it inexplicably made her feel as if he was saying, “As long as I have you it’s enough.”

Right now the space between them was too close. So close, it was invasive.

This distance was just way too dangerous, so dangerous it could allow He Xun detect any inconsistencies with her. Peijin acted before her brain could process it. Before she had realized it herself, she had already waved off He Xun’s arm.

The range at which Peijin had moved was a bit wide, and He Xun stood in place, dumbfounded after she waved him away. After a few seconds he gave a dissatisfied ‘hey’.

Peijin opened her mouth, but met with the suspicious look He Xun had, she desperately racked her brain, struggling to, but eventually managing to find a poor excuse, “Brother He, you’re too heavy, it’s uncomfortable.”

As soon as she spoke, Peijin immediately regretted it. These words, no matter how she heard it, it sounded a bit shady. However, earlier when He Xun was pressing down on her with half of his body, she really did feel somewhat tired. He Xun was tall and his legs were long, he wasn’t light, she really couldn’t support him when he leaned half of his body on her.

Hearing her words, He Xun clicked his tongue. He lifted his hand and ruffled Peijin’s short, chopped hair, “Brother, your physique really won’t do.”

Peijin gave a pleading smile, “Brother He, it’s important to study now, I can exercise and strengthen my body later.”

He Xun raised an eyebrow and a look of disapproval came onto his face, “How is studying more important than your body? At all times, you body should always be prioritized first.”

Peijin hurriedly chimed in, nodding her head, “Right, right, Brother Xun, what you said is all correct.”

“So, starting tomorrow morning, you will be running with me.”

“Okay.” After Peijin unconsciously replied did she realize what she had just said. She remained dazed for a few seconds and then rapidly waved her hand, hastily saying, “Ah? No, no, Brother Xun, you know we’re in our senior year…”

“More the need to balance work and rest if it’s senior year, without a healthy body, where can you get the strength to learn? It’s settled.” He Xun had the last word and once he finished talking, he unhurriedly left with both his hands in his pockets.

Peijin knew He Xun was doing this for her own good, but running had truly been the nightmare of her school years.

She hated running the most! Especially the eight hundred metres, that was virtually hell on earth!

With one look you could tell that He Xun was really physically strong, running a thousand metres had nothing on him. Even though tomorrow hadn’t arrived, she knew when she was running tomorrow morning it was going to be torturous.

At this thought, she rushed to put down the things in her hand and staunchly ran out of the kitchen.

After she arrived before He Xun, she bit her lower lip, wanting to thoroughly talk this over with him again.

“Brother Xun, I know you want what’s best for me, but during the morning I’m busy memorizing and reciting English words, there has never been enough time to sleep, but to have to make room for running, my body really can’t handle that….”

He Xun didn’t care, “What’s worse is not training your body. If you really don’t have any time, then don’t memorize the words. Free that time for running.”

Peijin got a bit nervous, “How can I not recite them?”

For a few seconds, He Xun thought this over as he rubbed his lower jaw, “It couldn’t be that you’re scared of running, right?”

Peijin “Oh’ed” in reply, she hadn’t thought He Xun would be able to see through her careful thinking.

However she would never admit that.

“Not at all, I just don’t want to spend my time running. “ Peijin didn’t dare use the word ‘waste’, although in reality she really felt that running was a waste of time.

He Xun laughed at her, “There’s still a fitness test senior year, nerd.”

Once she heard the two words “fitness test”, Peijin felt her life go completely dark. She was a ‘male student’ right now, so she would have to run a distance of a thousand metres. Eight hundred meters already took half of her dear life, but one thousand metres?

Peijin lowered her head, lost, just like a defeated rooster.

He Xun couldn’t help but smile, “You forgot that it’s the weekend tomorrow, our morning runs will start the day after tomorrow.”

After hearing these words, Peijin excitedly raised her head, “Okay, okay, okay.”

If they could drag out the matter of running, then drag it out, perhaps as soon as they did, He Xun would forget about it?

However tomorrow would be the first weekend she would have after transmigrating, Peijin thought for a moment then asked, “Brother He, are you going home tomorrow?”

He Xun replied absentmindedly, “I’m not. What, you want to?”

Peijin shook her head, “I shouldn’t be.” She had never interacted with Father Pei in person, so she was extremely afraid of being discovered if she went home. As a result, if she simply didn’t have to go home then she wouldn’t.

Early dawn the next day, someone slapped their door at a loud, thundering rate.

However Peijin didn’t have a habit of sleeping in. By then she had already finished washing up early on, and drank a cup of milk for breakfast.

In order to not reveal her female figure, she would generally wake up three-quarters of an hour before He Xun did in the morning. Forty five minutes was enough for her to brush her teeth, wash her face, use the restroom and change her clothes.

By the time He Xun got up from bed, she had long since cleaned herself up. Consequently, the chances of detecting any slip-ups was greatly reduced.

As soon as she opened the door, she discovered that it was Fatty, the three people total who stood outside.

They looked to be in high spirits, there were entirely no signs of heavy drinking from the night before. Fatty and Peijin greeted each other before they took the initiative to enter the dormitory room.

He looked around, “Is He Xun still sleeping?”

“Well…”

By this point, He Xun had already heard the noise and sat up on his bed, hair disheveled as he gave Fatty a brittle laugh.

Fatty quickly raised both of his hands for forgiveness, “Brother Xun, I really didn’t mean to bother your sleep. But something happened today.”

He Xun used his hands to lazily fix his hair, “What is it?”

Fatty pointed a finger at Zhang Chen, “Well, it would be no other than him, he asked out a younger sister from the school next door. The little sister and him don’t know each other well, so she’s afraid to hang out with him alone, and invited a lot of her other little sisters to come. Since the other party has so many people, we can’t lose our momentum, right?”

He Xun threw an irritated look at Zhang Chen, “You three still aren’t enough?”

Zheng Chen replied, “It’s not, they’re from an eight-person dorm, aside from the two that have gone home for the weekend, with her, it’ll be six people total.”

He Xun clicked his tongue, “Boring.”

Zheng Li didn’t look the least out of place when he cozied himself up in a chair, “Ah’Xun, the campus belle of the school next door is also in this group of six little sisters. It seems their school beauty is pretty interested in you.”

He Xun remained apathetic, “I’m not.”

Zhang Chen promptly interjected, “Brother Xun, just act as if you’re giving us some face by going to hang out together. The girl I like has a big chest and long legs. Those pairs of legs, I could play with them for a whole year.”

Fatty laughed aloud, “Chen’zi (1), if you manage to catch her, what number would you be on?”

(1) Form of address for close friends, with a suffix in the end, sort of like ‘Ah’ + Name, but it’s used more commonly between friends rather than family like Ah.

Zhang Chen scratched his head and replied with a dismissive look, “I don’t remember, it’s about around ten to twenty.”

Peijin was slightly stunned when she heard this. Within He Xun’s three brothers, Zhang Chen was the one with the least presence. Fatty loved to eat, had a straightforward personality and was easy to get along with. Zheng Li actually was a bit arrogant, but wasn’t hard to talk to.

Although Zhang Chen was comparatively handsome, between the three he was the plainest one. She hadn’t thought that the plainest one, would have the richest dating history and be the most promiscuous.

Zhang Chen winked and gave a sly smile, “I’ve never been with a type like her before, it makes me feel excited. When the time comes, remember to help put in a few good words while you talk about me.”

Fatty returned his gesture, candidly saying, “Relax, it’s absolutely no problem.”

Zheng Li also gave Zhang Chen a reassuring look.

He Xun declined to comment, remaining indifferent throughout the whole interaction.

When it was Peijin’s turn, she carefully worded out, “Got it.”

By the time Peijin and they had arrived at the KTV box (1), the six female students had already arrived.

(1) Karaoke room

The girl from the next door school that Zhang Chen had been pursuing as of late was called Meng Meng, she looked to be a mature older sister. (1) Beside her sat a few other girls, among them there was one whose beauty could stun people. She was probably the campus belle that Zheng Li had mentioned.

(1) 御姐 is a word used to describe females who look to be more attractive, physically and have a more elegant, mature temperament. Other words could be ‘Queen’, ‘pretty big sister.’

Fatty was extremely at ease. As soon as he saw Meng Meng, he enthusiastically said hello, “So you’re Chen’zi’s goddess?”

Although Meng Meng looked to be a mature big sister, she had a bit of a shy disposition and was somewhat embarrassed when she heard him, “He said I was his goddess?”

Fatty appeared to nod his head in all seriousness, “Yeah, when he’s with us he brings you up quite a lot.”

Peijin stood on the sidelines, listening to him, confused, Zhang Chen had clearly never brought up the word ‘Goddess’, so how did he talk about her ‘quite a lot’?”

Right then, Zheng Li chimed in, “Chen’zi is a very honest person, he has never experienced love before, so there’s no risk with him. If he ever makes you sad, you just have to discipline him a bit more.”

Peijin, “? ? ?”

This was nothing but just lying with your eyes open. Zhang Chen had even said himself last night, he had dated at least ten times, how come when Zheng Li opened his mouth he became a naive boy who had never experienced love?

Meng Meng shyly smiled.

At this point, Fatty emerged as a true bro and began to freely detail everything, endlessly praising Zhang Chen, “Goddess, you don’t even know it, my Chen’zi, we live in the same dorm. Oh god, he, he even dreamed of you last night.”

Hearing this, Meng Meng and her fellow friends became a bit more interested.

Eyes wide, Meng Meng strangely asked, “What did he dream about me?”

Fatty flung his hands up in despair, “I don’t know the specific details, I only heard him call our your name and giggly dumbly, he was overjoyed, oh, don’t ask anymore.”

From the start, Peijin had been puzzled, but now as she stood aside she finally understood why Zhang Chen must’ve called on his fellow brothers for.

He had wanted them to blatantly lie and assist him throughout his whole journey.

Let alone the fact that the girl called Meng Meng seemed to have truly fallen for his range of flattering compliments. At this point Meng Meng was already beginning to express herself a bit more enthusiastically, and seemed to be a slightly more relaxed.

At that moment, Meng Meng suddenly noticed Peijin sitting in the corner.

In Meng Meng’s opinion, since Peijin was wearing these rustic pair of glasses and hadn’t talked since she entered, she seemed to be an honest person, simple and good-natured, so she should be bad at lying.

At best she only believed half of what these people had said, and if they had more to say, she wouldn’t trust them.

She was aware of male students too, they were experts in flowery and luring rhetoric. However she could still question this person sitting in the corner.

They obviously weren’t honeymouthed like the others.

With this, Meng Meng called out towards Meng Meng, “That small older brother sitting in the corner, you tell me, what they’re saying, is it true?”

When Peijin heard the address, ‘small older brother’, her whole body froze.

After hearing Meng Meng’s question, her whole body became rigid.

“What they’re saying, is it true?” This…this question was too hard for her.

When she transmigrated into this book, was it easy for her? !

It wasn’t at all!
