“The weather’s changed?”

Peijin strangely asked in reply.

She looked up. The fresh and clear sky from earlier had unknowingly already darkened, indicating the arrival of a violent storm.

The winds were rising.

She hadn’t known when the seawaters had started to become muddy. Those well-experienced to this kind of cloudy water wouldn’t enter it, because to go to sea at this time was unsafe.

Fatty jiggled as he ran towards He Xun.

He wiped the sweat off his face and breathlessly panted, “Brother Xun, the waters started clouding up early on. Sailing conditions are still unclear.”

He Xun frowned.

Zheng Li sighed regretfully, “Ah’Xun, the weather does change as it pleases, it was really nice earlier and now it’s actually become so dangerous.”

“Has anyone gone out?”

Zheng Li nodded, “There was, but it was only a few people. Based off what I saw, there were two groups, with four or five people for each boat.”

As several people were talking, a pouring rain suddenly came from the skies above.

The rainfall was extremely heavy and forceful. A large crowd of people quickly rushed to take cover under a nearby convenience store.

Not long after, someone outside suddenly shouted aloud, “A boat at sea has turned over! Some people have fallen into the waters!”

Fatty gave a start when he heard these words, “No…no way. Someone…fell into the sea”

The look on Zheng Li’s face turned serious, “This really can happen. Once the waves rise it isn’t fun anymore.”

Fatty pointed at himself, “Then….we also had planned to go out to sea.”

When this was said, everyone’s eyes instantly turned to gather on Peijin.

Peijin bit her lower lip, feeling double the pressure on her, “What are you all looking at me for?”

Fatty wrapped his arm around her shoulder and pulled her into a side-hug of brotherly love, “Why if it weren’t for you, we might even still be out on the waters. Your stomach ache really did come just in time.”

At the side, Zheng Li chimed in, “Yeah. Thankfully we hadn’t gone out yet, or else I wouldn’t even know what situation we’d be in.” Zheng Li looked at He Xun when he finished, “Don’t you think so, Ah’Xun?”

He Xun didn’t reply. He glanced at Fatty’s arm slung over Peijin’s shoulder and ordered, “Put down your arm.”

Fatty unhappily muttured, “Why though, Brother Xun, I was just getting along with them.”

He Xun directly got up and took down Fatty’s arm, “They’re too thin and weak.”

Fatty gave a ‘Hey, yo,’ and said, “Brother Xun, you’re scared we might crush them?” Fatty teased him, but he listened and didn’t put his arm over Peijin’s shoulder again.

After about ten minutes, a fisherman who had just returned from sea came into the convenience store they were taking shelter in. As he wiped his face dry with a towel he gave a great sigh, “This storm is truly evil, I almost didn’t make it back.”

Fatty quickly spoke up to ask about the news, “Uncle, I heard that a ship capsized?”

Uncle fisherman sighed, “Yes, a small boat sank. On the sea, a small boat like such stands nothing against a storm’s might.”

Fatty clutched at his chest and asked with trembling lips, “Then…the passengers?”

Uncle fisherman shook his head and said with a sigh, “I’m afraid the future looks grim.”

All at once, Fatty’s face turned stark white.

If he had thought that it was a fluke before and felt that the overturned boat was fake news, then now when it was confirmed, he couldn’t stop the rising waves of fear in his heart.

If it weren’t for Peijin’s upset stomach, then at this moment, they would all still be at sea.

There were only a few of them and the yacht was also considered a small boat, they would stand no chance against the storm.

With surprise and dread he looked at Peijin and exclaimed, “Peijin, you really are our lucky star! It was you that saved me, Fatty’s life!”

Fear also flooded into Peijin’s heart.

Before, she had always been careful to look out for He Xun’s accident, afraid that something might happen to him, but she never thought this time she had almost gotten into one with him.

Right now, her heart had the intense feeling of surviving a near-death experience.

However when she heard Fatty say this, she quickly waved him off and modestly said, “That’s an overstatement, an overstatement.”

Fatty solemnly shook his head, “How could it be, it’s my life and it’s all thanks to you.”

He was too afraid to picture it, if at this moment he were to be tossing in the ocean, rolling in the waves, how scared he might be. If it weren’t for Peijin, he would be undergoing the nightmare of a lifetime.

Zheng Li thought the same as Fatty.

It was a small coincidence that saved all of their lives.

In the case that Fatty and Zheng Li had tried to accept Peijin for the sake of He Xun’s image, then now, they considered Peijin as one of them from the bottom of their hearts.

With the sincere wave of his big hand, Fatty said, “Peijin, from now on you’re our good bro, if you have a problem, call on us.”

Zheng Li face was completely serious as he spoke, “For our brother, I wouldn’t hesitate to put my life on the line!”

Uncle fisherman stood nearby and looked at the sight of brotherly loyalty, unable to resist from curiously inquiring about the context to their circumstances.

Fatty was the most straightforward, so he recalled everything from start to finish. Saying everything as it was.

Taking a sip of hot water provided by the convenience store, Uncle fisherman admiringly said, “This little brother’s stomach ache really came in the nick of time.”

Fatty earnestly nodded in all seriousness, “Right.”

Uncle fisherman smiled at the group of close friends, “With such good luck, there will surely be good days to come for you all.”

After Uncle fisherman left, Fatty said he wanted to comfort his hurt soul to his heart’s content, so he was going to buy a lot of snacks from the convenience store. He said at a time like this, only fine food could bring him a sense of security.

Zheng Li and Zhang Chen went with Fatty to get snacks together.

At this point, only He Xun and Peijin were left.

Peijin took a look at He Xun and said, “Brother Xun, Fatty and Zheng Li thanked me one after another with all they could, saying that I saved their lives.”

He Xun raised an eyebrow, “Mhm.”

Peijin tightly folded in her lower lip and tentatively asked, “Then…you don’t have anything to say to me?”

He Xun clicked his tongue and the corner of his lips ticked up, “You saved this life of mine, from now on, my life is yours.”
