Chapter 44 – Flirtatious

“Is being the wife of a Governor still not prestigious enough? In the future, you will understand how prestigious this identity is when you attend the banquets of various government officials.”

She nodded. “That’s true.” She suddenly thought of something and smiled.

“Why are you smiling?”

“Is this considered as I have been promoted?” Originally, she was a secret constable without even a rank, so she had to hide in the shadows and remain unseen. Now that she has become the Governor’s wife, she is a Second-Ranked Madam.

“You are my Madam, therefore your status is honorable.” Di Jing smiled as he looked at her delicate beautiful smile and his eyes turned deep and serene.

When she saw the faint fluttering of flames in his eyes, her heart skipped involuntarily. She understood this look in his eyes and every night he would stare at her in this way. And whenever he looks at her like this, her eyes would subconsciously reveal a touch of charm.

The man is showing his affections, so how can this little sister not take this opportunity to convey her feelings of love through her beautiful eyes?

Shangguan Yan has never been a person who flirts but it is probably because there is no one around presently. It is rare for the stern and strict Lord Di to be hot and passionate, so how can she refrain from teasing him?

Besides, she had heard a lot about the ambiguities in the boudoir from her junior sisters and after being influenced by them, she wanted to do some practical research.

Di Jing saw her charming appearance and he who had never been moved by women, like this look of hers very much. He is a person who draws a very clear line between internal and external relationships. He lowered his head to kiss her but was blocked by her hand.

“It’s broad daylight, what do you want to do?” She chided him softly and refused to let him kiss her with the thought of teasing him.

Di Jing’s eyes were shining like flames and said in a low voice. “It’s alright, no one is watching.” As he spoke, he wanted to kiss her again.

“No, it’s not according to the rules. If this spreads, it will become a joke. You are the Governor and you are not showing a good example.”

She refused to let him kiss her and deliberately kept him in suspense. She thought of his vigor at night and on their wedding night, he did not even show any tender feelings for her. Fortunately, she is a martial artist with a good foundation and could bear with it but he has been bullying her every night like this. She is unwilling to accept this anymore and must persist in getting back some advantages during the day.

When she said this to Di Jing, he felt guilty and ashamed of his greed.

“You’re right. I have exceeded propriety.” He felt quite embarrassed and wondered why he behaved like a young brat after getting married.

Seeing him like this, Shangguan Yan was secretly proud but she pretended to be serious. She deliberately leaned against him with a smile that was as gentle as spring water and whispered to him. Her long eyelashes that were like the wings of a butterfly fluttered straight to his heart and swept up rippling waves.

Di Jing felt his breathing getting heavier.

She deliberately pretended not to notice and continued to lean against him to let the scent from her body drift towards him. She even reached out her hand to touch his face lightly.

“How did you get dust here? Don’t move, I’ll wipe it for you.”

Today, she is wearing a robe with wide sleeves and when she lifted her hand, the sleeve slipped down to reveal her white jade arms. When Di Jing saw, his eyes froze involuntarily but she continued to play dumb and pretended she did not notice he was trying hard to endure.

“Are you done?” He asked.

“Not yet, don’t move!”

Her hand caressed his face gently and the soft touch reminded him of her tremblings hands and the itchiness on his skin last night.

He still has a deep impression of that feeling of ecstasy at that time.

Thinking up to here, he hurriedly calmed his mind so that his imagination would not run wild and shifted his gaze away. However, he accidentally caught a glimpse of her neck and his gaze froze again.

From his angle, it just so happened that he saw a faint red mark on the skin of her neck just above her collar. It was the mark he left on her neck last night and he could still remember when he was tasting her…….it was so sweet.

Di Jing felt a fire rising in his lower abdomen and his breath constricted.

“ Yi? Husband, you’re sweating!”

“It’s a little hot, I’ll go out first to get some air!” After speaking, he quickly got up and strode out of the house. He needed to get some air to dispel this annoying lust!

As Shangguan Yan watched his figure walk out in a hurry, she covered her mouth and laughed heartlessly. It indeed gave her great satisfaction to be able to tease this Mount Tai to the brink of collapse without him showing any change in his expression and made this Lord Di flee!

Once again, Di Jing started to get busy with official duties.

In addition to managing the daily affairs in the mansion, Shangguan Yan continued to be busy every day handling her businesses with the consent of her husband.

Today when she heard that Qiu Dan had followed Di Jing back to the mansion, she immediately sent someone to ask Qiu Dan to wait for her in the middle courtyard.

Since she is now the Governor’s wife, she can make use of one of the Four Great Constables, Lord Qiu Dan, right?

“Constable Qiu.” Upon seeing Qiu Dan, she smiled.

“Madam.” Qiu Dan clasped a hand over his fist and held up his hands to greet her.

Now that Shangguan Yan is the Governor’s wife, his attitude towards her is naturally respectful.

“Why Madam is looking for this small one?”

“It’s nothing but I just wanted to ask Constable Qiu about a case. Can Constable Qiu give some pointers?”

“This small one doesn’t dare and will do my best to tell everything.”

Shangguan Yan was just waiting to hear this answer from him and her bright eyes stared at him.

“Of course you will know about this. In fact, it is not a big deal. I just want to ask how did Lord Di find out that my rash-covered face was fake?”

A light flashed in Qiu Dan’s eyes but his complexion did not change and pretended to be surprised. “Madam’s rash-covered face was fake? This…….this small one doesn’t know.”

Shangguan Yan smiled and showed an expression that said ‘both of us are upright people so we shouldn’t speak with hidden meanings’.

“Constable Qiu doesn’t need to pretend. Lord Di has admitted that he knows.”

“Really? Then…….why doesn’t Madam ask Lord Di?”

Hmph, cunning!

If Di Jing is willing to tell her, why should she ask Qiu Dan?!

She thought of Di Jing’s unfathomable look and no matter how much she asked, he pretended to be dumb. He also said he had already informed her that he wanted to restore her looks which meant he wanted her to resume her female appearance. And in turn, he even asked her how did she get rashes on her face!

Initially, the discussion was just plain talking using their mouths without using their hands but that Lord Di insisted on using both his mouth and his hands. They even moved to the bed and he blocked her mouth with a kiss, so she could not continue the interrogation. On the contrary, he interrogated and tortured her from head to toe which gave her a sore back the next day.

Since she can’t deal with Di Jing, so why can’t she find another way and interrogate Constable Qiu?

“There’s no point in asking Lord Di. I just like to ask you…….so, you can tell me secretly. Rest assured, I won’t betray you.”

She requested nicely then praised and tempted but no matter how she asked, this Qiu Dan just pretended to be stupid and refused to say a word.

“Hmph, you are indeed Lord Di’s loyal constable!”

“Showing absolute loyalty and responsibility towards Lord Di is only right.” The words were meant to tell her in a roundabout way that she should extinguish all hopes as he would not spit out even a word. If he could not keep his mouth shut, then how is he qualified to be a constable?

Shangguan was open-minded and had long guessed that getting clues from Qiu Dan was not a simple matter.

If that is so, she will find another way!
