The venom irritated his chest, and it hurt a little. Hua Yi coughed a few times and smiled at the people who came out of the dense forest: “I didn’t expect that the winged people would stir into this muddy water. I was scared to death.”
Several people came out. The first one was in human form, with three or four terrestrial beasts around, and a bird beastman, stopping at a tree branch very close to Hua Yi. They did not glance at the two halves of their companion on the ground, as if the unlucky person had come to paralyze Hua Yi with his corpse.
The leader’s figure was similar to that of ordinary beastmen, except his head was so small that it was out of proportion. Even a young girl who had not grown up may have a larger head than him. His voice was also very special, like he was singing with a soft rhythm. These physical characteristics showed that he was a winged beastman.
The man said softly, “Since you know how to be afraid, then perhaps we can all save time if you just hand over the stuff. What do you say?”
His voice was soft, but his hands were not soft at all. The tips of his fingers were hooked unnaturally, like chicken feet, with cold light shining on his fingernails. No one would doubt that this thing could easily penetrate a person’s chest.
At this time, Hua Yi’s tongue was stiff, and it was very difficult to say a word, yet he calmly revealed his signature honest smile: “I’m just a lonely traveler. What do you want me to do? Do you want to rob my dry food?”
The winged beastman sneered. “Silver Tooth, I respect you as a hero. Stop acting dumb.”
Hua Yi lifted his forehead, shook his head while sighing, and said, “Since you know who I am, don’t you know that, although I’m not a good thing, I have a few good brothers. If I take that business, won’t I go on the road with them? It must be convenient for you to rob me since we’re separated.”
The winged beastmen were unmoved. “You’re separated because they’re all undercover.”
Hua Yi looked at him for a while, as if he couldn’t believe that there were such stupid people in the world. He said, “People all over the world think that I have something, so why should I put it on my person? To wait for you to grab it?”
The winged beastman frowned. For a moment, he felt that Hua Yi was right. However, this guy was so cunning that he had to be careful.
“Well, if you don’t believe me, you can come and search. I can take it off myself.” As Hua Yi said this, he slowly took off his clothes. Then his eyes fell on the tall and sturdy beastmen in front of him, and with a distressed expression, he said, “Today is a loss. You said that I worked so hard to get rid of it. But who should I show it to? There is no beauty…”
A knife placed around on his neck stopped Hua Yi’s voice. A beastman stepped up at their leader’s signal and glared at Hua Yi fiercely. “Don’t play tricks and take out your hand. Let’s search!”
Hua Yi raised his hands, which seemed to tremble weakly, and looked at them innocently.
The first winged beastman came over, his sharp fingernails slowly crossed Hua Yi’s naked chest, and said in a voice that could cause goosebumps: “You can still stand now. You sure aren’t bad.”
Hua Yi blinked at him, his expression became more simple and innocent.
With a sneer, the beastman with a knife pulled away the cloth bag in his arms.
Hua Yi said anxiously, “Hey, don’t dirty my malt steamed bun…”
He was really anxious. The winged beastman dumped all his rags inside the bag onto the ground, and turned them over with his feet.. They didn’t care. But seeing Hua Yi’s eyes, he suddenly paused and bent down to pick up a bun that had been stained with mud. He sneered, “Steamed buns?”
The winged beastman pinched the hard steamed bread, and immediately broke it in the middle. It was hollow inside. The small-headed bird beastman with a large body laughed and whispered, “Oh, is it still a steamed bread without stuffing?”
A light flashed across Hua Yi’s eyes.
At the moment the winged beastman completely broke the bread, a puff of grey smoke suddenly burst out from inside, and his eyes were immediately blinded. At the same time, Hua Yi transformed one hand into a claw using the strength that he’d been accumulating during the conversation. When the beastman who was holding the knife against his neck didn’t respond, Hua Yi grasped his neck, seized the knife with his other hand, and neatly slashed at the leader’s neck.
He didn’t hesitate. After killing the two of them, he immediately stepped back, and after propping himself from the big tree, he drilled into the forest.
It was only then that a roar rang out from behind him. The beasts that had not responded roared. One of them rushed to Hua Yi from behind.
Hua Yi had calculated his retreat, but his legs were too soft. And then he got caught up by the roots of a tree. His limbs couldn’t feel anything. He was struggling to support himself.
For a moment, Hua Yi’s heart was tight–trouble!
However, the expected enemy didn’t come. Hua Yi only heard a strange movement, as if someone had pulled out a very large weapon. With a “shaa” sound, the weapon produced a subtle whisper, and then there was the sound of a blade passing through flesh and bones, and blood was sprayed on Hua Yi’s back.
When he turned around, he was stunned. He saw the young sub-beast whom he thought he had shaken off!
Chang An was carrying a saber with a length that was about twice his height. It was thick and had a dark iron handle, but its blade was bright and sharp.
The boy suddenly turned his wrist away, and the body of the giant beast that almost hit Hua Yi was impaled like a barbecue on a tree branch. He was thrown out, rolled a few feet away, and fell to the ground with a loud noise.
At this point, the first drop of blood fell from the edge of the blade and landed on the ground.
