Chapter 45 - I’m Pregnant

Chao Sheng did not see Qin Qin in the room when he came back, and his heart dropped as he thought of the possibility of her getting back on drugs.

Just as he planned to find the servant to ask, he heard sounds in the bathroom, strode over and pulled open the door of the bathroom.

Qin Qin obviously didn’t expect that he would come in suddenly. She hid her hands behind her back and looked at him in panic. “You…want to use the bathroom?”

Chao Sheng was rendered in a daze for a moment. He was too worried to care about appropriateness. He should at least knock before breaking in. When he saw her reddish face, his anxiety gradually subsided, “No, I thought something would happen to you.”

Qin Qin looked at him in confusion.

“Come down now if you’re all set. I have something to tell you.”

Qin Qin nodded and put the thing in her hand into her coat pocket in haste after he turned around. Face burning, she washed her hands and walked out of the bathroom.

Chao Sheng was waiting her in the room, leaning against the head of the bed.

Qin Qin looked pale and a bit absent-minded with her head down. Tripped by something on the floor, she involuntarily covered her belly, her face getting ghastly pale.

“Watch out!”

However, she didn’t feel the pain she was expecting. Instead, she felt a strong arm around her waist and then the two of them both fell to the bed.

“You okay? Did you get hurt?”

“No…nothing. I’m good.” Qin Qin was lying on Chao Sheng’s body, looking somewhat terrified.

“Thank god.” Chao Sheng turned his head and saw something on the bed, which must have slid out of Qin Qin’s pocket during the fall.

“What’s this?”

He wanted to pick it up for a closer look, however, Qin Qin was faster than him and grabbed it while saying, “Nothing.”

But he still got a glimpse of the two red lines on it, “You’re pregnant?”

It had been several months since she got back and they didn’t use any contraception. So conception made sense.

She covered her belly and said, a defensive look on her face, “What happens between us stays between us. Do not get this kid involved. If you dare to hurt my baby, I’ll kill you.”

“Qin Qin, it’s also my baby. I won’t hurt it.”

Qin Qin didn’t believe him. “You didn’t ever spare a three-year-old kid, let alone this baby still in fetus. I won’t let you touch my baby even at the cost of my own life.”

Chao Sheng was confused, “Three-year-old kid? What are you talking about?”

Qin Qin couldn’t help but sob at the thought of that, “Didn’t you order Luo Qianyi and my mom to drown the baby because you thought he would be the drag to your new marriage?”

“I didn’t!” Chao Sheng didn’t expect such a heavy accusation. “I didn’t know a thing about it. When I got the news, our son was already in the morgue. And Luo…they told me you murdered our kid because you wanted to run away with Wei Bojian.”

“Qin Qin, sorry, I really am. My paranoia and self-righteousness have made you suffer for so many years. Let’s forget the past and start again, okay?”

Behind the hurting truth were the schemes and plots fermented out of another woman’s jealousy, which had caused the growing misunderstanding between them.

Qin Qin was dumbfounded as she had never expected Chao Sheng’s apology.

“You…you don’t hate me?”

“No, I don’t. I’ll try my best to make up for what I have done to you. Could you please forgive me?”

Qin Qin couldn’t help but cry at his words. The entanglement of six years finally ended at this moment.

Chao Sheng held her in his arms and smiled, “Let’s go to the hospital tomorrow. To check if our baby is alright.”
