Upon entering Tergovishte, a small sparrow flew over and suddenly plunged into Sun Ran's arms. When he reached into his chest, the sparrow had already transformed back into a palm-sized piece of paper. On the paper, a line of small characters read: 'Christmas Eve Inn, second floor, dormitory.'

Seeing the address, Sun Ran gently crumpled the paper in his palm, and the alchemy took effect. When he opened his hand again, the paper had turned into an ordinary withered leaf, which fell from his hand and was carried away by the wind.

Finding a large inn in a city with a diameter of no more than three kilometers was a simple matter. Sun Ran, now dressed as a traveler, boldly asked a guard. The guard, though arrogant, did not suspect anything and pointed out the location of the inn.

After finding the inn smoothly and entering the hall, Sun Ran glanced around and saw Lan Xin sitting alone in a corner, eating. She also noticed Sun Ran but did not greet him. Instead, she finished her drink in one gulp, paid the bill, and slowly walked towards the resting room on the second floor.

Sun Ran glanced at her and then walked to the counter, saying to the innkeeper, "I need a bed for resting."

"There's a dormitory on the second floor. It costs fifteen copper coins per night. Don't cause any trouble, or you'll be impaled by the Duke," the innkeeper said without looking up, her attitude arrogant.

She had seen many such poor customers who had nothing to offer. They were unwilling to buy food at the inn and brought their own rations. They were not picky about the accommodation as long as they had a place to sleep.

Sun Ran handed over the copper coins, quickened his pace, and followed Lan Xin, who had already climbed the stairs, to the second-floor accommodation.

The so-called dormitory was a long wooden board covered with straw and some old blankets, a simple and crude living space where a dozen people, regardless of gender, slept together.

If there were female guests, it was almost certain that some men would try to undress in the middle of the night. When this happened, women usually did not make a fuss, treating it as if they had been bitten by a dog.

When Lan Xin entered the dormitory, the men in the room turned to look at her, their eyes filled with desire, but more with fear.

A few of the men had scars on their faces, and the most unfortunate one had a pair of black eyes. They had likely been disciplined by Lan Xin before.

Bai Tingxuan was also there, lying in a corner near the window, pretending to be asleep. A few men nearby were stirring restlessly.

Lan Xin walked over, glared fiercely at these men, making them retreat, and then sat down on the bed. She patted the empty space beside her and said to Sun Ran, "I like you. You'll sleep with me tonight."

Upon hearing this, the other men in the room immediately looked at Sun Ran with envy and resentment, wishing they could take his place.

There was no helping it; Lan Xin's body was that of a noblewoman, with fair skin and a voluptuous figure. Even in ordinary clothes, she could not completely hide her beauty. To these players living at the bottom of society, she was a beauty of the world, no different from the Virgin Mary in a church.

Sun Ran bowed slightly and said, "It is my honor, beautiful lady."

Then he walked over and lay down next to Bai Tingxuan, with Lan Xin lying beside him, sandwiching him in the middle for easier communication.

After lying down, Lan Xin, without moving, whispered, "Ke'er has also arrived. She discovered a high-ranking vampire officer on the way, at least a viscount. She has been following him."

A high-ranking officer suggested that the opponent might be a second-generation vampire, or even a first-generation one. If they could obtain the blood of this vampire, it would be easy to find the true body of the vampire disrupter using the ghost-seeking compass.

Sun Ran frowned upon hearing this. A high-ranking officer? How could a high-ranking officer appear in public under such high alert? And to be discovered by Ke'er, who had just entered the city, this was suspicious.

He secretly tugged at Bai Tingxuan's hand and whispered in her ear, "Go and call Ke'er back. Tell her this is likely a trap to lure us out. There's no need to take the risk."

Bai Tingxuan shrank back, her face slightly red, but the dim light concealed her change. She moved her hand slightly, and a paper bird turned into a thumb-sized sparrow, which flew out of the window.

Less than ten minutes after the sparrow flew out, the number of patrolling guards on the street outside the inn suddenly doubled, and faint sounds of unrest could be heard.

The unrest subsided after a while, but the number of patrolling guards in the city did not decrease; instead, it increased, and they even began knocking on the doors of residents.

Lan Xin said anxiously, "Ke'er might be in trouble."

Sun Ran shook his head and said firmly, "Ke'er is indeed in trouble, but she hasn't been caught."

If she had been caught, there wouldn't be so many guards conducting searches. The problem now was that the guards were coming to the inn to search, and they themselves were likely to be suspected.

A few minutes later, a ten-man squad approached the Christmas Eve Inn. Seven of them scattered to block all the exits, while the other three entered the inn to conduct the search.

"What should we do?" Lan Xin asked anxiously.

"Are the weapons hidden?" Sun Ran asked.

"Under the bed, all covered with invisibility charms," Bai Tingxuan replied.

Sun Ran felt relieved. With the weapons safe, the next step was to eliminate the guards' suspicion.

Although they were dressed as ordinary people, their demeanor was somewhat different, which was hard to hide. If someone searched them with intent, it would be easy to spot the anomaly.

The first floor of the inn was already in chaos, with guests being searched. The second-floor guests were also affected, and a slight unrest began. Some people ran to the door to observe the situation, and no one was paying attention to Sun Ran's side.

Sun Ran immediately turned to Bai Tingxuan and said, "Get up and act scared like the others. Pretend you don't know us."

"What about you? Shouldn't we all become invisible?" Bai Tingxuan was a bit panicked.

Sun Ran rejected the idea. Suddenly disappearing three people would definitely be noticed, which would only raise the city's alert level. Moreover, invisibility spells were not foolproof and could be easily broken. The best way was to eliminate suspicion.

The search on the first floor was quickly completed, and the guards were already climbing the stairs, the wooden stairs creaking under their weight.

Bai Tingxuan had no choice but to follow Sun Ran's advice and sit up, looking nervously at the door like the others.

Sun Ran then hugged Lan Xin, his hand skillfully slipping under her clothes and grasping her full breast. At that moment, he had two thoughts: first, the feeling was really good, and second, he wondered if it was the same in the real world.

Lan Xin, caught off guard, was greatly alarmed and instinctively tried to resist.

"Cooperate," Sun Ran urged.

Lan Xin was stunned, her body softening, and then her lips were captured by Sun Ran's, who kissed her deeply. Her breathing became disordered, and she quickly got into character, even forgetting the current danger. In the virtual world, Lan Xin was more relaxed.

Sun Ran pressed his body against Lan Xin's, his hand frantically trying to untie her belt, but for some reason, he couldn't manage it.

At that moment, the guards entered the room. Glancing around, they saw a disheveled couple about to engage in intimate activity, and another woman hiding far away, her face flushed and extremely embarrassed.

Driven by lust, they didn't even consider the location. The guard cursed inwardly. He had seen many such couples who engaged in intimate activities on the spot, mostly from the lower class.

Although he despised them, this scene had nothing to do with assassins. The guard immediately ruled out the three as suspects, glanced around, and seeing that everyone in the room looked timid and unremarkable, turned to his companions and said, "Let's go, to the next place."

The task for the night was heavy, and he didn't have time to question everyone.

The guards left, and the others outside the inn also departed. Lan Xin finally regained some composure, and with a sudden effort, she pushed Sun Ran off the bed, angrily shouting, "You brat, taking advantage of me!"

Sun Ran cooperated by lying on the ground, curling up and remaining silent, while the other men in the dormitory looked on with schadenfreude.

"Pathetic! Get back up here," Lan Xin scolded again.

Sun Ran hesitantly climbed back onto the bed, lying down carefully in his original position, perfectly portraying a timid young man.

After a while, when the room quieted down, Lan Xin turned and asked with concern, "Are you hurt?"

"Ouch, it really hurts," Sun Ran complained.

"I'll rub it for you," Lan Xin said, knowing he was acting. She had been half-acting and half-angry earlier, upset that Sun Ran had tried to undress her in front of so many people, so she had instinctively thrown him off. Now, she felt a bit embarrassed.

"No, let me touch you again, and I won't hurt," Sun Ran insisted, still not satisfied with his earlier touch.

"Stop being a brat, or I'll really hit you!" Lan Xin said, her face red, waving her fist.

Sun Ran immediately submitted and went to sleep.

Bai Tingxuan watched in silence. These days, Sun Ran had always been serious and proper in front of them, a gentleman. Now, his childish behavior in front of Lan Xin was a stark contrast, making the difference too great.
